When Alfaro was unable to provide the records, as re quested, at Tuesday's second Session nf hp hnrinu thai subpoena was served upon him in the hearing room by committee counsel Joseph F. Soviero. Alfaro claimed he was un able to contact his tax ac countant. Paret died on April 2 from ring injuries suffered at Mad ison Square Garden on March 24 when knocked out and de prived of his welterweight title by Emile Griffith. Soviero declared, "We want to know what happened to the S260.000 Paret earned be tween 1958 and 19B2." Assemblyman Hayward H. Plumadore of Saranac Lake, N. Y., committee chairman, said: "We must have those records to show whether Al faro is indeed the benevolent patron of fighters who claims he never made any money out of boxers until Paret became champion." During his interrogation about Paret's money, Alfaro said he understood Benny had taken $35,000 in cash with him to Miami, Fla., after the fight with Gene Fullmer at Las Vegas, Nev., last Dec. 9. .. ... Mike Neathamer was next with .295. Actual fattest aver age was achieved by Young. He hit .438 but for only 18 batting turns. Deffley had 48 at bats while Miles and Ne athamer topped the list al 61 apiece. White with three homers, a double and a triple and Gary j Miller (.277) with three dou bles, a triple and two home runs were the main sluggers. Mike Barnes (.273) had three triples and a double, Deffley three doubles and a triple and Neathamer three doubles. White Has 18 RBIs White headed MHS in runs batted In with 18 Neathamer and Miller each had 11. Miles and Barnes each have seven stolen bases and Neathamer five. Young has pitched a total of 52 innings for Medford, al lowing 27 hits and 13 runs. He spots a 1.07 earned run average and has fanned 42. Sieve Ray was next in time of service for Medford on the hill with 3-3 record for 36 innings. Craig Laurance was third busiest pitcher and was 2-1 for 19 innings. His KRA is 1.10. Medford will likely face a pitcher Thursday regarded as "probably the best in the state." He Is Don McNcal who hurled the Axemen to the 1961 state mantle. His full season record is not available but he was 6-0 in league play as his team swept the circuit with 10-straighl record. Mc Ncal in his league games had an ERA of 0.35. He struck out 40 baiters in 61 innings, gave up 12 hits, and just eleven walks and was charged with only two earned runs. Top hitter in the league for South was Duane Brown with .543. Jack Willis has hit .389 and Bob Officer .306.
