Central Point Grange A varied program was pre seated preceding the regular meeting of Central Point Grange Friday, 'April 20. Mrs. James Cornutt lec turer arranged the program. It included a reading by MfS. O. T. Willson, several ex cepts of Easter celebrations in other lands given by mem bers, tableaux depicting the Easter story with reader of the scripture, Mrs. Dee Hendrick son; clarinet solo by Judy Frink, and solo by Mrs. Fred Kuest. Children of the Grange Riving readings were Valorie Bohnert, Cindy Barber, John Frink, Darrell Bohnert played a piano solo. The standing committees reported on many matters of Interest to farmers, during the business session. Home ecq nomics club chairman Mrs. Morris Frink announced the I next meeting of the club. Final plans for the Candi date Night were made, and Mrs. Gaston Floux, chairman of the event, asked all mem bers to invite their neigh bors and friends to attend and meet the candidates. Each Grange woman is asked to take a cake. . The event starts at 8 o riv. j Friday, April 27. The public i is Invited to attend. Refresh ments will be served at the close of the evening. The Eight Crazy Slitchcrs 4-H meeting was recently held at the home of Mrs. Hugdahl. The meeting was called to or der by Sharon Hugdahl, sec retary and the minutes were read and approved. Roll call was given and three were ab sent. We had three visitors. Mrs. Goodwin, Mrs. Lind and Mrs. Vandagriti. We had a judging contest ox articles that had been finished since the last meeting. Dur ing the discussion, we plan ned what articles we would enter in the fair. We took in two new members who are Margaret Goodwin and hijr sister, Martha Ann. The meet ing was then adjourned and refreshments were served. Kathy Vandagrift, Reporter. The Eagle Point Ranchcrfe 4-H club met recently and the meeting was called to order by our vice president, Darrell Dowell. Our junior leader, Carl Johnson gave a talk oh. rabbits and asked us all to learn the parts of a rabbit as we will be tested on it at the next meeting. r" Our leader, Mr. Dowell, talked- to us about record books and passed out new record book sheets. The meet ing was adjourned. ' Carol Burrill, i Reporter. 0 Griffin Creek The Griffin Creek Orange will hold its social meeting at the month Thursday, April 28, at 6:30 p.m. starting with a potluck , supper. Cards and games will be. played after wards. All residents of the comr munity are invited to attend. Those attending arc reminded to take their own table ser vice. Master Jack Bierma pre sided at the last meeting of the Grange. Balloting fof state Grange officers and com. mittce reports were made. A. talk was. given on the pro posed Jackson county home rule charter. 4-H News Ruch Wooliei u The Ruch Woolics Sheep 4-H club held their fourth meeting April 11 at Margaret Cantrall's home. We had it short meeting. We also had a new member. Her name is Dawn Merickel. ,; Dick will have a report and Margaret told us to learn the 4-H pledge. We will have two tests, one on parts of a sheep, and another on naming and describing five breeds of sheep. The next meoting will b held at Cantrall's home at p.m. on May 2. Refreshments were served by Mary Ann Cantrall. r Tom Winningham, Reporter. Jacksonville Club ., The meeting of the Jack sonville Livestock 4-H club was called to order by Presi dent Mary Cantrall. The flag salute and 4-H pledge wece led by Pam Dunlap and Glenna Logan. Old business was the pop bottle drive. The one who collected the most pop bottles won a prize. Mary Cantrall won the prize. Jt was a $2 gift certificate. ,. New business was the Jack sonville Parent Teacher asso ciation asked our club to lead them in the flag salute. Chuck and Glenna Logan gave -a demonstration on judging and selecting a hog. Dana Dunlap led us tn a song. . , Refreshments were served by the Logans, and the meet ing was adjourned.
