MEDFORD MAIL TRIBUNE. MEDFORD, OREGON Mr. and Mn. Harvey Gen Hueners Zelma Childress Married To Harvey Gene Hueners The wedding of Zelma Bea trice Childress, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. G. B. Childress, 603 North Fir street, to Har vey Gene Hueners, Route 4, Box 302, took place Sunday, April 16, in -Ascension Lu,- theran church. The bride groom is the son of Mr. and Mrs. Ernest Hueners, Route 4, Box 302. , The Rev. Elvin S. Tollefson read the double ring vows at three o clock in the afternoon , before approximat ely 00 guests. Baskets of white stock decorated the church. Organ ist was Miss Diane Melum. The bride's gown was of Alencon lace over taffeta, with a basque bodice, long sleeves and a Sabrina neck line embroidered with pearls and sequins.. The bouffant skirt was accented with side panels of tulle, banded with wide rows of scalloped lace. Her fingertip-length veil of silk illusion was held by a modified pillbox of Alencon lace and rosettes of pleated tulle, embroidered with pearls She carried a cascade bouquet of white carnations and steph anotis, centered with a white orchid. Her father gave her in marriage. Mrs. James Polk, sister of the bride, was matron of hon or, and Mrs. John B. Child ress, her sister-in-law, was bridesmatron. They wore iden tical ballerina-length dresses of blue nylon sheer over taf feta, sleeveless, with self-cummerbund, bouffant skirt and draped back. Their hats were blue miniature crowns of hair braid and aurora borealls cry stals with float veils. They carried pink carnation' cascade bouquets. Mrs. Childress wore a navy blue suit with white accessor ies for her daughter's wed ding and the. bridegroom's mother w o r e a royal blue dress, also with white. Both wore gardenia corsages. . Little Debra Sue Hueners, daughter of the bridegroom, was flower girl. Miss Shirleen Eighty Women Guests at Tea About 80 valley women at tended a tea given last Satur day at the home of Mrs. Mur ray S. Gardiner, 3777 Old Mil itary road, as a benefit for the dancers of Zuleima temple, Daughters of the Nile. The money earned will go into a convention fund in order that the dancers may attend the su preme session of the Daugh ters to be held In Denver June 11-15. Invited to pour were past queens -of the temple. They were Mrs. H. F. Nordwlck, Mrs. Wilbur A. Arnold, Mrs. Raymond Reter, Mrs. E. Ron ald Rice and Mrs. O. L. Over myer. , Mrs. Gardiner's home has an Oriental decor, and in keeping with this, the tea ta ble decorations Included a Cambodian head of Kwan Yin, Oriental goddess of Mercy. Mrs. Leonard Willems and Mrs. Roland Holmes, : aunt of the bride groom, cut the cake. Mrs. Tim Hunt and Miss Shirleen Hue ners poured. The newlyweds traveled to San Francisco on their honey moon, the bride wearing a coral suit with coral accessor ies. " King-Neville Marriage News Announced Here Prospect -. Mr. and Mrs. David Neville of Prospect nave announced the marriage of their daughter, Miss Mary Lou Neville, to James G. King Jr. The ceremony took place Saturday, April 8, in Juneau, Alaska, with Bishop winiam uuiKiey of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints officiating. An open house at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Ray Woolford followed the ceremony. The newlyweds left later for An chorage, Alaska, on a wed ding trip. Mr. King's parents, Mr. and Mrs. James G. King, New York City, were present for the Wedding. The bride has been curricu lum assistant for the Alaskan State Department of Educa tion. Mr. King, game man agement agent for the United States Fish and Wildlife Serv ice, is assigned . to duty in Fairbanks and the couple will live in that city. The bridegroom's parents came to Oregon following their visit in Alaska and were guests of the Nevilles in Prospect before continuing to their home in the east. Rosa Jean Sweet Rose Jean Sweet Engaged To Wed Melvin Shilts Talent - Mr. 'and Mrs. Mel vin Sweet, Talent, announce the engagement of their daughter, Rose Jean, to Mel vin Otis Shilts, son of Mr. and Mrs. Chester Shilts, Klamath Falls. Miss Sweet was salutator- ian of her 1959 graduating class at Talent High school and is a secretary for R. A. Brewer, public accountant.. (Anders photo) Vanderpol-McAllister Ceremony Held at Church Central Point - Miss Shir ley Jane McAllister, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Robert Mc Allister, route 2, box. 573 A, Central Point, became the bride of Carl Austin Vander pool, son of Mrs. Mllford Van derpool, 827 Gilman road, Medford, in a ceremony held April 15. The Rev. Paul Kroori offic iated at the double ring rites held at Central Point Com munity Bible church. More than 125 relatives and friends attended the 2 o'clock after noon wedding. Baskets of white stock and pink carna tions decorated the church. Mrs. Kroon was organist and accompanied Miss Carol Ann Morris, soloist . The bride wore a chiffon frock over satin fashioned with fitted bodice, cap sleeves and full skirt. Her jewelry was a single pearl on a chain and ear rings, gifts from the bride groom. She carried a white orchid and white carnations on a white Bible. Mr. McAl lister gave his daughter In marriage. ' Miss Connie McDonough, Sams Valley, attended the bride. She wore a pink taf feta frock with an overskirt of embroidered chiffon. She wore matching accessories and carried a bouquet of pink and white carnations. Miss Susan McAllister, sister of the bride, and Miss Cheryl Ham mill, a cousin, were candle lighters. They wore blue taf feta frocks with embroidered chiffon oversklrts and their ( as advtrtisti . Seating the guests were Rich ard Morris and William Moore. , e Following the ceremony a reception was held at the church. Mrs. Clifton Hammlll, aunt of the bride, cut and served the wedding cake. Miss Linda Doran presided at the punch bowl and Miss Glenna Mae Brown' poured coffee. Miss Alice Croxton was in charge of the guest book. As sisting with the serving was Miss Carole Mattesen. The couple traveled to Grand Canyon In Arizona on their wedding trip. The bride wore for traveling a blue and white print cotton suit with white accessories. Her corsage was an orchid. The bride attended Crater High school and Is employed by Anders Photo shop. Steph enson, son of Mrs. Frank Hibbs, Applegate, in rites held April 8 at the home of the bride's parents. The double-ring ceremony was performed at one o'clock In the afternoon by the Rev. Thornton Gapen, Applegate. Miss Ruby Rose played sev eral accordion numbers and Neil Tompkins sang, The bride wore a ballerina length gown of white satin covered with white lace top ped by a white lace bolero and lace gloves. Her net veil was held by a rhlnestone tiara and she carried a lavender orchid and white carnations with a white Bible. The bride was given in marriage by her father. Miss Margaret Harvey, of Florence, attended the bride. She wore a ballerina length dress of blue nylon over taf feta and her bouquet was of lavender stock and white car nations. Arthur Decker, Medford, was best man. The living room of the home was decorated with lav ender and white stock and white asters.
