Orange River Groves, Jones and Frederick Inc., of Coral Gables has opened a 6,500 acre tract 12 miles southeast of hereWith a $1,500 down payment' it is possible to buy a 10 -acre grove (minimum size) for $9,995. ' - According to the plan, the investor doesn't have to worry about supervising his grove. All maintenance - from plant ing .to harvesting to market ing - is handled by a government-regulated citrus cooperative.'.:.- ' C - ' Orange River Groves said this is the first such real es tate plan in Florida and per haps the first in' the nation. President Eugene R. Jones said, "We feel that the Orange River Groves type of invest ment has tremendous poten tial because it, is tied to -.the coat-tails of two of the bobm ingest and most profitable in dustries in Florida today, real estate and citrus.".' . ' ! ' He said, "Not many people know that next to tourism, citrus is Florida's biggest irw dustry." . . Jones and Stanley L. Fred erick established a partner ship in 1947 and incorporated their holdings in .1951. Since then, the firm has engaged in $35 million in home building, mostly along the southeast Florida Gold Coast. It became a publicly owned corporation last year when 330,000 shares were sold. " Concert Planned At Crater High Central Point-A concert en titled "Music Time" will be presented by the Crater High school music department at 8 p.m. Friday, April 21, in the school gymnasium. Students in band, choir, the Lavaliers and glee club will perform. , The program will include varied compositions from symphonic, through swing and spirituals. Proceeds will be used for a band trip in June. The 60-piece band, the 50 voice choir and 30-voice glee 1 club will be directed by Nor man D. Carothers. The pub lic is invited to attend.
