Miss Regie Surber, maid of honor, wore a white suit and a corsage of white carnations and rosebuds. Marshall Coke, brother of the bride, was best man. Mrs. Glenn Smith, Ruch, aunt of the' bride, cut and served the wedding cake at the reception which followed the ' ceremony. Mrs.: Pfaff, mother of the bridegroom, poured. The couple traveled to the' coast for a honeymoon and are now making their home at 156 Third street. The bride and. bridegroom attended Ashland High school. He js an employee of Bear Creek orchards. Mrs. Horace Knight gave a talk and showed slides of her recent trip to Paris at a meet ing of Travel Study club of the Oregon Federation of Women's clubs held at- the Girls' Community club on March - 28.- Mrs. Knight flew from Port land to London, England, then to Paris where she visit ed her son,' Walter, a student of dress design, who lives in the Montmarte district. Hostesses for the after noon were Mrs. Ray Glidewell and Mrs. Fran Straiton. - Plans : were made for -attendance at the 48th annual convention of First i District of the Oregon Federation of Women's clubs, to be held April 4 at Grants Pass. -f- Delegate To Be Elected j A delegate for Rebekah as sembly will be elected at a meeting of ' Olive Rebekah lodge at 8 p.m. April 3 at the IOOF' hall. The assembly will be held in Pendleton May 16. At the last session of the lodge Mrs. J. D. Small, gave a reading on the life of Schuy ler Colfax, founder of the "Re bekah Oddfellowship.' Refreshments were served by the Mesdames Frank S. Chapman, Esther Coleman, Agnes Firch, Clara Franklin, Harry Bryant and L. D. Cllne. Thirteen members of the Medford lodge visited Mt. Etna Rebekah lodge March 27 when Mrs. W. E. McCracken was initiated into local mem bership by the Mt. Etna de gree team. Deanery To Hear Woman Mrs. Georgia Newcomer, Phoenix, ,Ariz., a provincial representative of the General Division of Women's Work of the National Council of the Protestant Episcopal church, will be a guest and speaker for : the Southern Oregon Deanery, at St. Mark's Epis copal church, Thursday, April 6.. Mrs. Newcomer has been a member of the Home De partment of the National Council for three years, a dioscesan-president, president of the Women of Trinity Ca thedral in Phoenix, Ariz., chairman of United Church Women,, YMCA board, USO board, and trustee of St. Luke's hospital, Phoenix. She has also been state president of the Federated Music clubs, member of the board of the Symphony Guild, choir soloist and director in Arizona. ', ' Unit I employees at the tele phone company attended a bridal shower at the home of Mrs. Daniel Cantonwine, 1837 Easy street. .' j Symphonic Choir Schedules Local Concert April 11 A concert by the Salt Lake Symphonic choir' will be pre sented in the Medford High school auditorium at 8 p.m. Tuesday April 11. The per formance will be the first in Medford for the well known group. Armont Willardsen is director. The 130 singers are said to compose the largest independ ent choir in America. It orig inated in Salt Lake City in 1949 and has appeared with many other musical groups and individuals. The choir recently com pleted a guest appearance at the National Federation of Music Clubs convention. The past several season have In cluded tours to many of the large Western cities. Tickets are available at Lusk Piano company, Puruck er's Music house and Emerald Music company. They will also be available at the door. Reserved, general admission and student tickets will be sold. . Chapter Changes Meeting Date The April meeting of Rogue Valley Alumnae chapter of Delta Gamma sorority will be held April 19, instead of April 5, it was announced Satur day. All future meetings of the group will be scheduled for the third Wednesday, in stead of the first Wednesday of the month, officers said. Further information' may be obtained by calling Mrs. T. J. Home Rites Wed Couple Ashland-The home of the bridegroom's parents was the scene of the wedding March 11 of Miss Judith Gail Heit- manek to Larry Keith James. The bride is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Jerry . Heit manek, S55 Fairvlew street, and the bridegroom's parents are Mr. and Mrs. William James, 521 Fordyce street. The ceremony was perform ed by the Rev. Leo Wine of Faith Tabernacle. Baskets of pink and white carnations with white snapdragons pro vided a setting for the service. The bride's father gave her in marriage. She wore a white two-piece suit with a white orchid and pink rosebud corsage. Miss Linda Carmean, who was maid of honor, wore a green two-piece suit with a pink carnation corsage. Rob ert Heitmanek, brother of the bride, was best man. Thirty guests attended the wedding and reception which followed. The bridegroom's mother was hostess.
