Nelson-Eaton Rites Held i . - A wedding of Interest to valley residents was held March 18 In Eugene when Miss Sara Marie Eaton, daughter ot Dr. and Mrs, Or vul Eaton, 3366 Madrona lane, Medford, became the bride of Wallace Arthur Nelson, As- ; torla, Ore. The ceremony was held at the United Lutheran church at two o'clock In the afternoon with the Rev. Robert Hlnkle of Our Saviours Lutheran church officiating. Mr. and Mrs. Arthur Nelson, Astoria, are the parents of the bride, groom. The church was decorated with blue Iris, tulips and bell heather of diffused shades, Richard Perrin sang and was accompanied by Mrs. Dale Pe terson, organist. About 60 relatives and friends attend-ed. For the double ring rites the bride wore a frock of im- County PTA Council Plans Meeting at Grange Hall Jackson County Council of Parent ' Teacher associations will elect officers at a meet ing set for Wednesday, March 29, at the Roxy Ann Grange hall, cornor of Spring street and Valley View drive. The meeting will open with a coffee hour from 9:30 to 10 a.m. Opening meditations will be given by Mrs. Richard Melum. Medford Mothersing ers will follow the welcome by A 1 f Mekvold. Jackson county school superintendent. Election will follow, Mrs. Owen Kunkel will di rect a clinic for local presi dents and delegates to t h e state convention, which will be held in Astoria April 25-27. Mrs. William Selbert, Med ford, council president, urges newly elected presidents of local units and those going to the convention for the first time to attend this clinic. Mrs. Tom Ness will conduct a clinic on legislation. Luncheon will be served by the Medford Council of Par ent-Teacher associations for a small charge. Mrs. Leigh Gustison, presi dent of Oregon Congress of Parents and Teachers, and Mrs. John Boe, state by-law chairman, will talk on "Is Your PTA Flourishing?" A question and answer session will follow. Child care will be provided for a small charge per family; however lunch is not provided for the children. OPEOOhT ported Swiss organdy with embroidered organdy trim on the bouffant skirt and fitted bodice. Her tulle veil was held by an organdy bandeau with white velvet bows and pearls. She carried a nosegay bou quet of white carnations, pink rosebuds and stcphanotls. J-r, Eaton gave his daughter in marriage. Mrs Robert Wilcox, Eugene, cousin of the bride was matron of honor. She wore a blue crystalette dress styled on princess lines and carried a nosegay of pink carnations, blue hyacinths and heather. Robert Nelson, brother of t.ie bridegroom, was best man, Seating the guests were Gary Manners and Frederick Hart- strom, Astoria. For her daughter's wedding and reception which followed, Mrs. Eaton chose a soft gold dress of silk shantung with chiffon bodice and matching jacket. Her accessories were also soft gold and her flow ered hat was a blending of gold and beige. Her corsage was a gold-beige cymbidlum orchid. Mrs. Nelson wore a print dress in shades of blue with blue and white accessories. Her corsage was also of cym bldlum orchids In tones of bluish- pink. Following the ceremony a reception was held at the Rob ert Wilcox residence. Mrs, David Talbot, Grants Pass, cousin of the bride, cut and served the wedding cake as- sisled by Mrs. David Alder man, Astoria. Mrs. L. Paul Walker and Mrs. Robert Hart, both Medford, poured and Mrs. Robert Nelson was In charge of the guest book. The couple is at home In Astoria. For traveling the bride wore a lilac colored sheath dress with flowered hat. The bride attended South. em Oregon college and North western Bus iness college, Portland. Mr. Nelson attend ed University of Oregon where he was affiliated with Phi Delta Thela fraternity, and Western University School of Business, Portland. Among the out of town guests were Mr. and Mrs. Nel son, Astoria, parents of the bridegroom, and attending from Medford were the par ents of the bride, Dr. Walker, Dr. and Mrs. Bruce Stanley and daughter, Leslie, Mr. and Mrs. Russell Heysell, Robert Hart, and James Vargo. New Officers Announced Mrs. Lyman Smith was elected president of Alpha Lambda chapter of Epsllon Sigma Alpha sorority at a chapter business meeting at the home of Mrs. Chester Pe terson. Mrs. Smith will suc ceed Mrs. Willie Fischer. Other new offcers elected are Mrs. Robert Rae, vice president; Mrs. Davis Young recording secretary; Mrs. Wil liam Riggprt, corresponding secretary; Mrs. James Ristau, treasurer; Mrs. Dnniel Klda educational director; Mrs. Pe ter Greene, parliamentarian. Retiring officers are Mrs Rlggert, vice president; Mrs Richard Harrison, recording and corresponding secretary; Mrs, Young, treasurer; Mrs, Wylle Macpherson, education al director; Mrs. William Cox, parliamentarian. Installation for the officers will be held in May. Members worked on a sew ing project for Camp Easter Seal. Refreshments were served by Mrs, Rlggert and Mrs. Ris tau. Mrs. Charles Jantzer Hostess for Session Of Grandmother Club Mrs. Charles Jantzer was hostess for a meeting of Cra ter chapter, Grandmothers clubs of America, Monday, March 20, Mrs. Cora Card and Mrs. Hazel Plttam assisted. Guests were Mrs. M. H. Par sons, Mrs. John Anhorn and Mrs. Huston Grant. Mrs. Q. F. Brood was In charge of the business session. The club netted $16 in a silent auction of handmade ceram ics and plants. A donation of $5 wos given to tile national Haven building fund for con struction of a home for grand mothers. Roll call was answered with poems, witty sayings, and re ports by members, The next meeting will be held April 17 at the home of Mrs. Frank Smith with Mrs. Alma Mai lery and Mrs. H. W. BrittsAn assisting, Bruners Return From Vacation Eagle Point - Mr. and Mrs. Boyd Bruner have returned to their home In Eagle Point following a week's vacation In San Francisco. Knight will present a talk and slides de scribing her recent trip to Paris at a meeting of the Trav el Study club of the Oregon Federation of Women s Clubs Tuesday, March 28. Members will meet at 1 p.m. at Girls Community club. Mrs. Knight spent several weeks In Paris with her son, Walter, who is studying de signing. Hostesses will be Mrs. Ray Glidewell and Mrs. Frank Stratton. Bridge Club Hornbrook Mrs. Frank Ohlund entertained the Horn brook bridge club on Wednes day, at her home In Yreka. Mrs. Grace Quigley held high score, and Mrs. Henley Claw son, second high. Rainbow Girls Charter Recieved; Events Planned Jacksonville-Warren assem bly, Order of Rainbow for Girls, received its charter at a meeting Sunday, March 19, in Jacksonville Masonic tem ple. Mrs. Olive Martin, Port land, presided over the con stituting ceremonies. Mrs. Martin Is a grand deputy at vlsor, Assisting her were Miss Alice Pitney, Eugene, grand faith; Miss Terry Porter, Cot tage Grove, grand recorder; Miss Pamela Pashkowskl, Eu gene, past worthy advisor of Evangeline assembly, and Miss Judy Brown, Drain, grand lecturer. They served as constituting chaplain, re corder, musician and marshal. Also present were Miss Joan Rose, Vail, grand worthy advisor; Miss Janice Arm strong, past worthy advisor of Warren assembly; Gail Bufflngton, worshipful mas ter of Warren Masonic lodge; Morris Boughner, grand wor thy patron of the Order of Eastern Star in Oregon; Mr. and Mrs. Fred Gardner, ma tron and patron of Adarel chapter, OES. At the request of Mrs. Mar tin, balloting was exemplified for the grand officers. Miss Rose spoke. Refreshments were served. The Misses Lona Bufflngton and Cora Ravenor presided at the punch bowl, which was a gift to the assembly from Mr. and Mrs. J. E- Crawford. Daughters In Oregon. Mrs. Gertrude Winning ham, mother advisor, an nounced that Miss Susan Rit chey had been selected as grand page to the grand as sembly to be held in Klamath Falls in June. Plans were made for a rum mage sale to be held Satur day, April 1, at Jacksonville Community hall. Reports were made by committees in charge of the Rainbow dance scheduled for March 25. Members discussed a roller skating party to be held the last of April. Mr. and Mrs. DeYoung have purchased a dairy, formerly owned by Mr, and Mn. Lloyd Burks.
