A. Edwards, Route 2, Box 390A, Gold Hill. Miss Edwards is a junior majoring in psychology at Brigham Young university, Provo, Utah. Mr. Wright, son of Mrs. Marguerite Shifter, Hoquiam, Wash., and Morris Wright, Tacoma, is a junior in secondary education at Bri gham Young university. The wedding is planned for early June in the Logan, Utah Temple of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints. -t Housewarming Honors Couple Shady Cove - Mr. and Mrs. Sam Kiem were honored re cently at a housewarming par ty at their new home near Shady Cove. The Keims have lived in Eagle Point for many years and are active members of Medford Trail Riders. The guests presented a gift to the couple for their new home. The Dudleys came to Shady Cove in 1947 to build and op erate the Shady Cove Clean ers. They sold the business to Mr. and Mrs. Dan Aberge last fall and took an extended trip through the southern stites. They now make their home In Port Hueneme, Calif. While south they visited Mr. and Mrs. Johnny Jones, former Shady Cove residents now living in Florida. During their visit here they were guests of their son-in-law and daughter, Mr. and Mrs. Tom Quail, and sons. While in Shady Cove, Mr. Dudley helped organize the local fire department and served as chief for a number of years. The couple also worked with the local Lions club and auxiliary. Day, Gold Rey, was installed sponsor and Mrs. Raymond Dallaire, Med ford, director of Gamma Xi chapter, Beta Sigma Phi, In a recent ceremony at Kim's res taurant. The ceremony followed din ner. The last meeting of the group was at the home of Mrs. Andrew DeKorte, with Mrs Ned Starnes as co-hostess. Plans were made for a food sale to be held soon. A hair styling demonstration was giv en by Mrs. Mildred Anderson. Couple To Wed In Spring Rites William s Mr. and Mrs. S. V. Findley of Williams have announced the engage ment of their daughter, Marlice Myla, to Francis A. Krouse Jr., son of Mr. and Mrs. Francis A. Krouse Sr., Applegate. Miss Findley Is a graduate of Grants Pass High school and has been in Montrose, Colo., where she was em ployed as a medical-secretarial assistant to an ophthal mologist for the past two and one-half years. Mr. Krouse, also a graduate of Grants Pass high school, attended Oregon State univer sity before enlisting in the United States Army Medical corps. He spent a portion of his enlistment overseas in Germany, and was dis charged from the service in February of this year. The couple plans to be mar ried later this spring. The Rev. George G. Rose berry of the First Methodist church, Medford, officiated at the four o'clock afternoon rites attended by 55 relatives and friends. The double ring ceremony was held at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Dale Bigham, Eagle Point. The bridegroom's parents are Mr. and Mrs. Clarence Lehnert, Falls City, Ore. Pink carnations and steph anotis decorated the home for the wedding. Miss Omega Spaur played the organ wed ding music. The bride wore a floor length gown of white bow knot lace fashioned with scoop neckline outlined with pearls and elbow length sleeves. A pearl cap held her elbow length veil and she carried a bouquet of pink rosebuds encircling a white orchid. Mr. Grubbs gave his Miss Helen Bullis Leaves for East Miss Helen Bullis, 15 Flor ence avenue, left Thursday for Washington, D.C. where she will visit her niece and fam ily, Mr. and Mrs. John M. Par sons in Falls Church, Va. Miss Bullis will also visit in North Carolina and New York prior to returning to Medford In late April. Kiwanian Dames To Hold Luncheon Kiwanian Dames will hold a luncheon meeting Tuesday, March 28, at 12 noon at the home of Mrs. E. Ronald Rice, 215 Saginaw drive. Assisting hostesses will be Mrs. E. R. Hoppe, Mrs. H. Candler Drew, Mrs. B. E. Budge and Mrs. Eugene G. Ray. All wives of Kiwanis mem bers are invited to attend. daughter in marriage. For her daughter's weddine ana reception which followed, Mrs. Grubbs wore a beige and white silk dress with beige accessories. Mrs. Lehnert chose a gray lace over pink with pink accessories. Their corsages were white carnations. Mrs. George Amrheim cut and served the wedding cake assisted by Miss Barbara Nichols. Miss Jane Grubbs, sister of the bride, Klamath Falls, presided at the punch bowl and Mrs. Robert Lamb poured coffee. Assisting with the serving were Miss Kathcr- ine Stuart and Miss Margaret Lamb. The newlywed couple trav employed by Olson -Lawyer the coast to Portland on their wedding trip. For traveling the bride wore a pink box suit with matching accessor ies. They are making their home in Eagle Point. The bride is a graduate of Crater High school and is a stenog rapher with the Oregon state employment office. Mr. Lehn ert attended Moses Lake, Wash., High school and is employed by Olson - Sawyer Lumber company. Among the out of town gliosis attending were Mr. and Mrs. C. G. Lehnert, Falls City, parents of the bridegroom; J. A. Johnson, Portland, grand father of the bridegroom; Mrs. Robert Lehnert, Valselz, Ore.; Mrs. Alfred Steele, Weiser, Idaho, and Mr. and Mrs. Ben jamin Hallmark, Reno, Nev. Murphy - School vacation was the signal for many Mur phy residents to do some trav eling. Mr. and Mrs. Sidney Gar ner, and their three children, Susie, Joanne, and Johnny, visited friends in Orland and Chico, Calif. Mr. and Mrs. Wallace Pal mer, and their children, Peg gy, Alice and Johnny, went to Portland where they visited Mrs. Palmer's mother. Their older daughter, Donna, who was graduated from high school last year, is attending beauty college in Portland and makes her home with her grandmother during the school year. Also traveling to Portland were the Robert Scott family of Northside road in Murphy. They visited friends while there and took the children to the zoo and other points of interest. Two Families Arriving unexpectedly a t the same destination, Death Valley, were two Murphy fam ilies. Mr. and Mrs. Paul Sak raida and their sons, Michael and Mark, spent the week there, and met Mr. and Mrs. D. W. Gillespie and their sons who, with their trailer house, had been visiting in the area for two weeks. The Gillespies had traveled to Las Vegas first, visiting Boulder Dam while en route, and had then been joined by Mr. Gilliespie's mother who lives in New Mexico. She made the rest of the trip with them and has returned to Murphy with them for a visit. Among the points of interest they visited while in the area were the famous Scotty's Cas tle; the Mosaic canyon, and the Golden Cathedral. C 3 To Portland Mr. and Mrs. Cecil Maphct, and their daughter, Cecilia, made a two-day shopping trip to Portland. On their return home, Mrs. Maphet's parents, the C. W. Crumps from' Cali fornia, who had been visiting here for some time, left for home.
