The bride Is a daughter of Mr. and Mrs. J. H. Winter halder, 811 Narregan street. Medford, and the bridegroom is a son of Wayne E. Huson, New York City The Rev. D. E. Millard of the New Age church, Eagle Point, was the officiating min islcr. The Rev. Mr. Millard had married the bride's par ents 30 years ago, and her brother and sister-in-law, Mr. and Mrs. John Paul Winler halder, 14 years ago. The bride wore a gown of champagne colored embroi dered silk organza with short bouffant skirt, three-quarter length sleeves and wide shawl collar. Her. headdress was brief champagne colored veil Marriage Announced Ashland-Mr. and Mrs. L. L. Bennett, 5480 Old .Highway 99 South, Ashland, last week announced the marriage of their daughter Georgie to Tor rance Peoples, son of Mr. and Mrs. G. D. Peoples, 1000 Neil Creek road. The ceremony was perform ed December 23 in the Church of the Nazarcne, Reno, Nov. The bride's parents and her brother Steven, were present. After a short honeymoon spent in Nebraska, Mr. and Mrs. Pc o p I e s returned to southern California where the bridegroom is in training with the United Stales Marine corps. ' Goldsby-Moore Rites Held in Church Here Miss Marianne Irene Moore, Snn Francisco, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Orle Stephen Moore, 535 Barnes avenue, became the bride of Raymond Peter Goldsby, San Francisco, In a ceremony held December 30 at First Presbyterian church. Dr. D. Kirkland West officiated at the double ring ceremony held at eight o'clock in the evening. The bridegroom's parents are Mrs. Maria A. Goldsby, San Francisco, and H, B. Goldsby, Purccll, Okla. Given in marriage by her father, the bride wore a floor length while satin gown. Men con lace trimmed the scoop neckline and outlined the gathered oversklrl which end ed In a chapel train. Her el bow length veil was held by a pearl and lace band and she carried a bouquet of three white orchids. Miss Karen Andrews, Boise, Idaho, served as maid of hon or and Miss Karen Kelly, Jef ferson, Ore., was bridesmaid. The attendants are Alpha Chi Omega sorority sisters of the bride. They wore red pcau dc sole frocks and carried white fur muffs trimmed with holly. Gone Snydcs, San Fran cisco, served as best man and seating the guests were David Forbes, San Francisco, and Clyde Wheaton, cousin of the bride. Baskets of white chrysan themums decorated the church. The Rev. G. Robert Jacks was soloist. Mrs. James W. Barnard at tended the bride. She wore a blue crystalctte princess line frock with blue lace bodice and a corsage of pink rosebuds. Sara Scott, daughter of the host couple, was flower girl. Reed Pierce, Redding, Calif., was best man for Mr. Huson. The ceremony was read near the fireplace of the liv ingroom of the Scott home. Pink and white flowers were arranged on the mantle, and Boise Couple Valley Visitors Eagle Point-Mr. and Mrs. Tom Staley and Mr. and Mrs. Don Staley had as holiday house guests Dr. and Mrs. P. G. Flack, Boise, Ida., parents of Mrs. Don Slaley. Dr. Flack returned home after a brief visit, with Mrs. Flack remaining for a longer stay. Mrs. Flack, who Is an antique dealer in Boise, spent a week visiting valley antique shops and also attended a number of parties in Medford. She then returned home, ac companied by her son-in-law and daughter who are spend ing several days in Boise. Open House Mr. and Mrs. Edwin N. Nel son, 24B8 Jacksonville high way, will hold an open house for friends and relatives in observance of their golden wedding anniversary Satur day, January 14, at the First Assembly of God church an nex. The event will be held from 3 to 7 p.m. Linda Ohenchaln presided at the punch bowl. Mrs. Lonnle Kellenberger, Salem, poured coffee and Mrs. William Gib son, cousin of the bride, was in charge of the guest book. The couple traveled to San Francisco and Washington, D.C. on their wedding trip. The bride attended Medford High school and Oregon State college and has been in the reservation department of United Air Lines, San Fran cisco. Mr. Goldsby attended San Francisco schools and San Francisco Stale college. He is currently on military leave from United Air Lines. The couple are now at home nt 407 Capitol Landing road, Williamsburg, Va. Grandparents of the bride are Mr. and Mrs. James R. W. Gregg, Central Point, who were present for the wedding, and the late Mr. and Mrs. Stephen A. Moore. Wash. Prior to the wedding the i bride was honored at two showers. One was held at the! home of Mrs. Leo Williams.! 1003 Roddy avenue. Assisting1 her were Mrs. Ross Minnecl, ! Mrs. William Rice and Mrs.i Donald Slater. Sixteen friends I attended. Another shower vnx held at the home of Mrs.1 Bnue Moffatt, Spring street, with 25 guests attending. A reception for about 100 guests followed at the Barnard home, 47 Renault avenue. The bride's table was decorated with pink roses, tapers and silver leaves. The wedding cake was cut and served by Mrs. Paul Ashby, Miss Janene Tracy and Miss Louise Lull. Serving punch were Miss Dallas Barnard, Miss Nicolee Ober, Richard Barnard and Gary Newton, Mrs. F. C. Tracy and Miss Joyce Leon poured the coffee. Mr. Huson and his bride are making their home at 1540 Stratford way. Mrs. Huson has operated the Colleen Hope Dance studio here for a num ber of years and is widely known in southern Oregon. Mr. Huson is a broker with the Lambert and Voegtly Lumber company. Hostesses Give Bridal Shower Gold Hill-Mr. and Mrs. Er rol Lloyd Eshaia, Portland, were recent guests of her par ents, Mr. and Mrs. Dale S. Collins. The couple is newly married. Mrs. Eshaia, the for mer Gail Collins, is a student at Lewis and Clark college, and her husband attends Port land State college. The Collins' son, Samuel Collins, was also a guest of his parents. He resides in Downey, Calif. During her visit here, Mrs. Eshaia was honored at a bridal shower. The party was given at the home of Mrs. Nina Duscnberry. Philharmonic To "Hansel and Gretel" Here The fairy opera, "Hansel and Gretel" will be presented in mid-January by the Phil harmonic Society of Southern Oregon. Two performances are scheduled, the first on Saturday. January 14, and the second Sunday, January 15. both at the Medford High school auditorium. Curtain time for the Satur day performance will be 8 p.m. and the Sunday program will begin at 3 p.m. Members of Ihe Philharmonic Society guild will serve refreshments between acts. The Rev. George R. V. Bolster read the marriage rites at four o'clock in the afternoon. The bride is a daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Jack Leath, Camden, Ark., and the bride groom is a son of Mr. and Mrs. Harlan Page Bosworth Jr., of Medford and the Apple- gate. He is a grandson of O. V. Myers, 20 Ashland avenue, and the late Mrs. Myers, and of Harlan Page Bosworth Buffalo, N.Y. Church decorations were of poinscttia blossoms and holly wreaths and tall white tapers illuminated the scene. The bride, given in marri age by her father, wore gown of Chantilly lace with long sleeves, scoop neckline edged in tiny embroidered flowers and pearls, and a full skirt over taffeta with chapel length train. Her elbow-length veil of illusion was held by a wreath of pearlized flowers. Students Hold Party A group of Medford students home for the holidays attend ed a party sponsored by their parents. The young people gathered at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Myers Jones, 49 South Modoc avenue, for ho'rs d'oeuvres and punch, and then went to Rogue Valley Country club for dinner and dancing. Attending the party were the Misses Ginger Hudson, Oregon State college student; Sue Ann Rutherford, student at St. Mary's of the Wood college, Indiana; Karolee Sel by, Oregon State college; De anna Hull, student at Holy Names school, Oakland, Calif.; Ruth Coovert, University of Oregon; Caron Leffler, Cali fornia Polytechnic institute; Monica Setty and Jean Wobbe, Southern Oregon college stu dents; Pauline Ashton, Bun ny Peterson, Pauline John son and Colleen Barr. Others attending were Wil liam Clinkinbeard, Jerry Hahn, R. Anthony Wade, Richard Middlekauf, Kelly Somers and Harold Holmes, all Oregon State college stu dents; Dick Kengla, John Norris, Larry Lea, Dudley Jones, Mike Reich, all Univer sity of Oregon students; Tom Radzweil, Southern Oregon college. Medford Woman Home From East Mrs. Lewis Ulrich is now home in Medford after a visit of several weeks with her son and daughtcr-i-law, Mr. and Mrs. Russell Ulrich and daughters, Susan and Cathe rine, who live on Long Island, New York. While in New York Mrs. Ulrich saw a performance of the Broadway show, "The Un sinkablc Molly Brown" and the off-Broadway show, "The Tenth Man." Russell Ulrich is super visor of meteorology for Pan American Ailways. Mr. and Mrs. Fred Cush southorn California visitors during the New Year's week Ing, 165 First street, were end. For the tra ditional "something old" she wore the wedding ring of her maternal grandmother, Mrs. J. P. Lee of Fort Worth, Tex. The bride's engagement dia mond was a gift from the late paternal grandmother of the bridegroom. Attendants in Red Matron-of-honor was the bride's paternal aunt, Mrs. Warren Meredith Weiseth, Eu gene, who wore a slim-skirted short dress of red brocade with matching red opera pumps and a red headdress of net and lace. She carried gar denias. Mrs. Larry Thompson, Eu gene, Mrs. Andrew Rapp and Miss Judith Persons, both of Portland, were also attend ants. They wore identical frocks of red brocade fashion ed with full skirts, scoop neck lines and three-quarter length sleeves. Their small head dresses were of white lace and net and each carried a white fiir muff with sprigs of holly pinned on it. Little Maureen and Peggy Hughes, nieces of the bride groom from Salem, were flow er girls. They wore full-skirt ed white dresses embroidered in red and their headdresses were white flowers and net. They carried petite white lace baskets filled with red carna tions and holly sprigs. Robert Lathrop Bosworth served his brother as best man, and Michael Leath, brother of the bride, Harlan Page Bosworth IV, Berkeley, Calif., another brother of the bridegroom, and Andrew Rapp, Portland, were ushers. Mark Irving Weisether, Eu gene, cousin of the bride, was ringbearer. Tommy Marker and Charles McNamarra, Med ford, were acolytes. Soloist for the ceremony was John Drysdale, and Mrs. Ernest Conrad was organist. For the wedding and recep- Ashland Woman Returns Home Ashland - Mrs. Lorena Mc- Nair, 323 Oak street, return ed Wednesday night from a five-day visit in Whittier, Calif., with her sister, Mrs. Morrison Eastman, and with another sister, Mrs. Harry Hawkins, Santa Ana. Also a guest in the Eastman home was Mrs. McNair's niece, Mrs. Larry Westdal, Minneapolis, whom she had not seen for 17 years, and Mrs. Westdal's two children. Reception Given The bride's parents were hosts for the reception, held in Parish hall. It was deco rated with mistletoe wreaths and baskets o fholly. Christianson, Oakland, Calif., and Medford, aunt of the bridegroom, and Mrs. Robert Bosworth assist ed at the cake table and Miss Persons and Mrs. Thompson served punch and coffee. Miss Suzanne Maxson, Eugene, at tended the guest book. Following the reception, the bridegroom's parents were hosts for a dinner at Rogue Valley Country club. Guests were members of the two families, the bridal party and a few close friends. Mr. Chris tianson sang, and Sigma Phi Wilson-Bryant Ceremony Held The wedding of Miss Betty June Bryant, Grants Pass, to Bobby Ray Wilson, Central Point, took place Thursday, December 29, in the First Christian church, Medford. The bride's parents are Mr. and Mrs. Claud William Bry ant, Route 1, Box 296, Eagle Point, and the bridegroom is the son of Mr. and Mrs. Ben jamin Ellsworth Wilson, of Route 2, Box 668-G, Central Point. The Rev. Frederick Ross Evans officiated at the single- ring ceremony, which was performed at 3:15 o'clock in the afternoon. The bride wore a white bro cade sheath dress and a crys tal blue and pearl necklace. Mrs. William C. Bryant, of Grants Pass, a sister-in-law, was her attendant. The bride attended Med ford High school and was for merly employed by the Blue Chip Stamp company, Comp ton, Calif. The bridegroom at tended schools in Elgin, Ore. and is now a specialist fourth class with the Army. He is to be stationed in Mannheim, Germany, until August, when he expects to be returned to the United States. The bride will reside at 4950 South Pa cific highway, Grants Pass. 0 is always planning for her future. Hughes and two sons, Patrick and Timothy; the bride's uncle, Dr. Warren Weiseth and sons, Edward, Paul and Warren Jr., Eugene, and the bridegroom's sister-in-law, Mrs. Harlan P. Bosworth IV and daughters, Susan and Bev erly, Berkeley. Other fraterni ty brothers of the bridegroom present were Gary Gainsforth, Portland; Ross Hall and David Soderstrom, Eugene; Paul Hansen, Phoenix, and William Foote, Medford.
