The festival, a family vent, had a variety of activities, including the making of wreaths and Christmas orna ments. At five o'clock supper was served and the festival closed with a worship serv ice entitled "All Humanity Claims Him." Art masterpieces in a religious theme were projected on a screen! they ranged from traditional to modern and showed how art ists from various countries depicit Christ and the Virgin Mary as being of their own race and color. Mrs. Walter Bish and Mrs. Donald Walters planned the festival, as sisted by Mrs. Emmett Bullard and Mrs. M. D. McGeary. "When Christmas Comes" is the title of the play which will fea ture the students of the first, second and third grades. Ashland Women Sing in Klamath Ashland - Two Ashland singers will have solo parts in today s performance of Han del's "Messiah" at Klamath Falls High .school. Mrs. Adelaide Spencer, ap plied vocal Instructor at Southern Oregon college, will sing the contralto roles, and Mrs. Virginia Cecil, elemen tary music supervisor for the Ashland city schools, will sing the soprano solos. Mrs. Spencer and Mrs. Cecil sang the same solo parts in the Ashland production of the fa mous oratorio which was held in the SOC gymnasium De cember 4 under the direction of Dr. Herbert Cecil. Sergeant, Family Leave for Portland Central Point - Leaving Tuesday after a visit at the C. L. Hughes home in Cen tral Point were Sgt. and Mrs. L. E. Hughes and their small son, Ricky, of Niagara Falls, N. Y. In the last year the Hughes and their son, who will be a year old ' in January, have traveled extensively. They first went from Korea to Ja pan and Hawaii, ' and from there to the states wherq they traveled from San Francisco through Oregon and Washing ton and across the United States to New York. They re cently made the return trip to the West coast. From Central Point the family went to Portland and Ft. Lewis, near T a c o m a, Wash., w h ere the sergeant first class will be stationed. Eagle Point HEC Elects Otticers Curried Turkey With Almonds Is Company Dish Christmas turkey can make several delicious meals. First comes hot roast turkey with dressing the bird's star per formance - then cold roast turkey and finally, a little change in appearance and form to add eating interest. Curried turkey amandine is one way to dress up turkey, using a delicious creamy sauce with wine, mushrooms and a topping of butter-toasted almonds. This is suitable for a company dish. The recipe calls for Vi cup sliced or slivered almonds, 2 tablespoons butter or marga rine, four tablespoons flour, Vi cups half milk and half cream, v teaspoon salt, V teaspoon curry powder, ' teaspoon pepper, 1 tablespoon instant minced onion, V cup white dinner wine, 1 8-oz. can mushrooms, drained, and 6 to 8 slices cooked turkey. Brown almonds slowly in Eagle Point - Mrs. Lester Werlz was elected chairman of the Eagle Point Grange Home butter in large skillet. Re- Economics club at a recent meeting in the home of Mrs. Dale Bigham. Mrs. Paul Force was elected vice chairman; Mrs. Tom Vestal, secretary; and Mrs. Ted Hoffman, treasurer. Blend in half and half. Stir in salt, curry powder, pepper, onion and wine. Cook over low heat, stirring constantly until mix ture boils and thickens. Add mushrooms and turkey. Sim mer 10 minutes. Top with al monds. Serve over buttered rice, noodles or toast rounds. Makes 6 to 8 servings. Christmas Party Given for Group Applegate Valley - More than 30 women at tended the Christmas meeting of the Upper Applegate Ex tension unit held at the Grange hall December 6. Mrs. I. D. Fitzgerald and Mrs. W. H. Dyer of Medford gave a demonstration on making of winter corsages. Instead of a gift exchange members brought gifts for the state mental hospitals. A ham din ner was served on an ever green decorated table which was centered with a Christ mas tree fashioned from tooth pick balls by Mrs. Mike Lof tus. ' Guests included Mrs. George Smith of Jacksonville hill, Mrs. Stanley Larson, Mrs. Frank Kendall and Mrs. Jim Fosscn. New members enroll ed this fall are Mrs. Larson, Mrs. , Rex Davis, Mrs. Ray Lampkin, and Mrs. Gerald Buck. Camp bell,' 3343 Grant road, Cen tral Point, during the holi days are her son and daughter-in-law and three grandchil dren, Technical Sgt. and Mrs. Leonard Keener and children, Harold, 10, Edwin, 9 and Val erce, 15 months. Kan., where he Two Units Set Meetings Cake decorating will be the project lesson for women' of the Sams Valley Home Ex tension unit on Tuesday, De cember 20. Mrs. Bessie Davis will give the lesson and all members are to take an iced cake. The meeting will start at 10:30 a.m. at the home of Mrs. Vin son Hunt on Meadows road.
