' MEDFORD, OREGON, SUNDAY, NOVEMBER 20, 1060 Bountiful Thanksgiving When housewives of the United Slates buy supplies for their Thanksgiving dinners, they will find the stores' shelves, bins and cases filled to overflowing with an abundance of food. Filling the role of a typical Medford homemaker, Mrs. Paul Evensen shopped In a Medford market last week just as hundreds of women will do this week in order that their families and guests may sit down to a bountiful holiday dinner. Mrs. Evensen will prepare Thanksgiving dinner for her husband, history teacher and athletic coach at Medford High school, their two children, Paula and Eric, and ho' mother, Mrs. George Veidt, who is visiting the Evensens. r if x- 4 - 7 ' f , I ( 4 (ft I Eric Evensen, 2, and his sister, Paula, 4, often accompany their parents to the grocery store, and like most mothers, Mrs. Evensen puts Eric in the shopping cart seat for safe keeping while she makes her selections. The Evensen's Thanksgiving dinner will be planned around the traditional roast turkey. Medford housewives need not worry about this part of tbeir dinner, for thousands of fine turkeys are grown in the state. i -.',5 'v When the shopping was done, Paula and her little ,4'' brother were rewarded with a ride on the mechanical ponies in the grocery store. Their happy laughter 1 boucht smiles to the faces of the store employees and other shoppers. , Breakfast was a long time ago, and the smells In a food store make a girl hungry. Mrs. ' Evensen, who was supervisor of vocal music in the Medford school system before her mar riage, It organist for Zlon Lutheran church and Mr. Even sen is one of the Sunday school teachert for the church.
