Mr. Church Ceremony Central Point -Miss Judith Lee Singleton, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Willard Single ion, 712 Maple street, became the bride of Ervin Glen Schulz, son of Mr. and Mrs. Adam Schulz, 1140 Loal street, Medtord, in a cere mony November 12. The Rev. John E. Simon performed the double ring rites at St. Peter's Lutheran church at two o'clock in the afternoon. About 100 guests attended. The bride, whose father gave her in marriage, wore a floor-length gown of de-luster- ed satin, designed with a f it ' ted bodice, yoke of Chantilly lace embroidered with irides cent sequins, and a scalloped Sabrina neckline. The bouf fant skirt was caught up in front over a tiered lace pan- el. Chantilly laee edged the akirt and chapel-length train, Her veil was of silk illusion held by a shell cap of taffeta and Chantilly lace. Her now- ers were white carnations and white rosebuds. Mrs. Gerald Butler, Med ford, was matron of honor. Bridesmaids were Miss Bever ley Tresham, Eagle Point, and Miss Penny Hahn, Grants Pass, cousin of the bride. (iarmel Couple Visitors Here Mr. and Mrs. Leonard Car penter left last night for .their home In Carmel, Calif., after a few days In Medford. They visited Mr. Carpenter's broth er and sister-in-law, Mr. and Mrs. Alfred S. V. Carpenter, Topsides, Old Stage road, Mrs, Carpenter's sister, Mrs. Alice Egan, Foothills road, and oth er relatives and friends. The Carpenters, who lived in Medford until recent years, motored north with their nephew and niece, Mr. and Mrs. Dunbar Carpenter, Foot hills road, when the Medford couple returned home after a atay In Carmel. The bride's mother wore a turquoise wool sheath with gardenia corsage, and the bridegroom's mother wore a dusty rose crepe sheath with gardenia corsage. Herman Schulz, Vancouver, brother of the bridegroom, was best man. Philip Warner Vancouver, and Thomas Tip ton, Medford, served as ush ers. At the reception which fol lowed, Mrs. Jerry Hahn Grants Pass, aunt of the bride, served the wedding Large Reception Tuesday Night Hondrs Artist Almost 250 persons attend ed a reception Tuesday eve ning at Rogue gallery which honored Eugene Bennett, Medford artist. The reception honored the artist on the opening night of his one-man show at the gallery. Hosts for the reception were Ben Trowbridge Jr., officer of Rogue Valley Art associa tion, and chairman of the ex hibition committee, and his fiancee; Miss Janeth Elliott. Preceding the reception, Mr, Bennett was honored at a dinner given by Dr, and Mrs. J. R. Porto and Dr. and Mrs. Harry Danielson at the Por to's home on Valley View drive. Dr. Porto is president of the Art association. The Bennett show will re main up this week, with the gallery to be open Monday from 8 to 10 p.m. and from 12 noon to 4 p.m. Tuesday through Saturday. Medford Couple Plans To Wed In January Rites Mr. and Mrs. Floyd O. Sut ton, 3761 Pacific highway, Medford, announce the en gagement and approaching marriage of their daughter, Kay Diane, to Robert Carl Miller, son of Mr. and Mrs. Ralph R. Miller, 712 West Jackson streel, also of this city. Both Miss Sutton and her fiance are graduates of Med ford High school. The bridegroom attended Fort Vancouver High school and is employed by White City Ply wood company. They traveled to southern California on their honeymoon, the bride wearing a brown sheath dress with gold accessories. Recital Set For Today First In a scries of winter recitals to be played by pupils of teachers in the Rogue Val ley chapter, Oregon Music Teachers, will be held at Pur ucker Music house today at 3 o'clock. Organ, piano and voice numbers will be presented by Janice Barker, Mattewillis Beard, Karen Christiansen, Jennifer Espcy, Ruth Evans, Virginia Ganot, Tara Hills, Jim Iba, Judy Jameson, Irene McGowan, Carla Morris, Mnr llyn Taylor and Jennifer Wil cox. Wedding Plans Announced For San Franciscans A late December wedding Is planned for Miss Marianne Moore, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Orie Stephens Moore, 535 Barnes avenue, and Ray mond Peter Goldsby, son of Mrs. Maria A. Goldsby, San Francisco. Miss Moore was graduated from Medford High school and Oregon State college, where she was a member of Alpha Chi Omega sorority. She Is employed by United Air Lines in San Francisco. Her grandparents are Mr. and Mrs. James R. W. Gregg, Freeman road. Central Point. and the late Mr. and Mrs. Ste phen A. Moore. Mr. Goldsby, who is at pres ent with the Army at Fort Eustls, Virginia, attended San Francisco schools and San Francisco State college. He Is also an employee of United Air Lines in San Francisco. Couples To Wed In Double Rites; Showers Given Two brides-to-be who will marry brothers In a double ceremony next month were honored with bridal showers recently. Miss Rosemary Tokar, bride-elect of Ernest E. Path man, was honored Friday eve ning, November 11, at a show er given by Miss Colleen Ri ley, bride-elect of Gordon T. Pathmann. On Thursday eve ning, November 3, Miss Riley was honored at a shower giv en by Mrs. Allan Higinbotham at the home of her mother, Mrs. Douglas Hinsely, 1032 Murray street. Miss Tokar is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Ernest Rose borough, 610 Oakdale drive, and Miss Riley is therlaughtcr of Mr. and Mrs. William Riley, 616 Stewart avenue. Their fi ances are sons of Mrs. Agnes Path ma n n, 519 Fairmont street. The shower for Miss Tokar was held at the home of Miss Riley's parents, 616 Stewart avenue. Pink tinted chrysan themums and miniature um brellas decorated the table. , Attending were the Mes dames Allan Higinbotham, Agnes Pathmann, Seth Wa ters, George Lovenborg, Stev en Wisely, Ernest Koscoor ough, Frank Williams and William Riley and the Misses Patricia Hilton, Judy Goss, Jean Williams, Colleen Tokar, Joy Tokar, Nyla Lovenborg and Kathi Riley. Bouquets o f chrysanthe mums in fall colors decorated the Hinsclcy home for the par ty given for Miss Riley. Birthday Party Honors Woman Mrs. Sue England was hon ored at a party November 12 which observed her Odrd birthday anniversary. The party was given by her daugh ter Mrs. Lee Amer, at Mrs. England's trailer home, 729 Beekman street. The tradi tional birthday cake was serv ed. Mrs. England, who has liv ed in Medford for the past five years, was born in Fos- toria, Ohio, November 12, 1867. Mrs. England, who be longs to the Methodist church, reads and sews and does much of her own housework. Guests at the birthday par ty were Mr. and Mrs. Frank Brandon, Mrs. Walter Hahner, Mrs-. J. M. Bali and Mrs. Jack Brcnnan. Pledged Dudley Jones, son of Mr, and Mrs. Myers D. It will be the first coming out party at the While House in 50 years. Henry, Lincoln, took place Novem ber 11 at Our Lady of the Mountain Catholic church. The Rev. William Walsh performed the rites at three o'clock in the afternoon. Large white chrysanthemums, pom pon chrysanthemums and pink carnations decorated the church. The bride wore an egg shell-colored knit suit with brown accessories and a green and brown orchid. The bride attended convent schools in Cedar Rapids, Iowa and took additional business education following gradua tion. The bridegroom attend ed Dartmouth college after graduation from schools in southern California and New Hampshire. The newlyweds left for an extended wedding trip to Flo rida and other states, the bride wearing a beige silk and wool suit. They will be at home in Lincoln, where the bridegroom is in the lumber business. Both are long-time residents of Ashland and Lin coln. Soloists Announced Ashland - Soloists for the third annual Southern Oregon college presentation of Han del's "Mosslah," which will be held on Sunday, December 4, at 3 p.m. In the college gym nasium, have been announced by Dr. Herbert Cecil, conduc tor of the performance. Soloists are to be Virginia Cecil, soprano; Adelaide Spencer, contralto; G. Robert Jacks, tenor; and Maynard Hadley, bass. Also taking part in the con cert will be the Southern Ore gon Little Symphony Orches tra and the 100 voice "Mes siah" chorus. Both the chorus and the orchestra are made up of college students and mu sicians from the Rogue Valley area. A social hour pre ceded the luncheon which was served to 147 women. Introducing officers of the Ashland Ladies of Elks, Mrs. Bruce Blew, co-chairman of Medford Ladies of Elks, pre sented corsages to Mrs. Denny McCoy, president; Mrs. Earl Johnson, vice president; Mrs. Harry Malick, secretary and Mrs. Paul Antony, treasurer.
