MEDFOHD MAIL TRIBUNE, MEDFORD, OREGON Central Point 4-H Club Members Get Recognized at Event Outstanding 4-H club mem bers were given special recog' nition at the Central Point Weslside general 4-H club achievement program last week at the Central Point Grange hall, Pins and cards for years in club work, furnished by the Oregon Bankers association, were presented to approxi mately 230 4-H members by Ed Christie, assistant manager of the Central Point branch of the First National bank. Presentation of awards fol lowed installation of new of ficers. Farm Bureau trophies for outstanding project ex hibits at the county fair went to Bob Kuest for poultry and Judy Frink, garden club. Seven Central Point mem bers won national awards. They included Linda Cornutt and Bill Anhorn, achievement; Bob Kuest, agriculture; Mar- I jory Bonney, Aletla Myers, and Sharon Thompson, style revue; and Carolee Kuest, food preparation. County medal winners in the record book contest, spon sored by the fair board, were Cynthia Charley, junior beef; Katheleen Frederick, interme diate dairy; Marilyn Lathrop, intermediate sheep; Jan Main, junior sheep; Judy Frink, in termediate swine; Penny Sam pert, senior horse. Cheryl Swanson, senior gar den; Wallace Sryrman, inter mediate garden; James An horn, junior garden; Glcnna Brown, home living; Bob Kuest, senior poultry; Linda Trust Officer Talks Af Roseburg Event Roscburg - Lawrence L. Clark, trust officer of the First National Bank of Ore gon, Medforcj branch, was the guest speaker here last week at the bimonthly southwest Oregon conference meeting of me National Association for Bank Audit and Control. Clark spoke of the legal conditions covering the ac ceptance of escrows, and then opened the meeting for ques tions. The meeting, for all bank officers in operations, was caled to order by President Lester Coleman, assistant cashier at the First National Bank of Oregon, Grants Pass branch. Other guests included Edward T. O'Connor, certi fied public accountant of the firm Basker, O'Connor and company, Grants Pass. Chlsum, main dish meals: Marta Heffner, outdoor cook ery, Janis Cate, Just So Girl; Carolee Kuest, Sun and Fun; Ann Bowling, Intermediate knitting; Carolyn Barnes, be ginning knitting; Sam Hugcs, rocks and minerals. Medals for the top county outdoor cooking judging team was awarded to the Korny Hampers club. The Bobbing Bobbins Sew ing 4-H club held a meeting recently at the home of the leader, Mrs. Leonard Franek, 1676 Beal lane, Medford. Six people attended. The meeting was called to order by President Shirley Roach. Ann Bowling led the (lag salute, and the 4-H pledge. The minutes wera read and approved. Our club goals were dis cussed and decided upon.
