All past matrons . are invited to attend, Nevita Social club will meet Member Is Contest Winner Shady Cove Miss Gail Wonderlich won a blue rib bon in the recent national Grange knitting contest with her entry of a baby afghan. The award was reported at a meeting of the Shady Cove Grange Home Economics club Wednesday at the A. B. Clark home on Butte Creek. The group presented a gift to Mrs. Neil Dusenberry for her small daughter, Laura Jean. Luncheon was served at noon. Club members held a rum mage sale Friday at the Shady Cove fire hall. The next meeting is sched uled for November 8 at the home of Mrs. Walter Satler, Busy Beaver motel. Officers will be elected. Monday, October 17, at the home of Mrs. Loren Brum field, Shady Cove. Plans are being made for the holiday bazaar. Pythian Sisters will practice for the Founder's Day program Tues day, October 18, at 7:30 p.m. at the Pythian hall, before the meeting of the Temple. The program will be pre sented during the meeting. Mrs. Ruth Walden, grand rep resentative, will give her re port on the grand session of Pythian Sisters held in Port land recently. Hornbrook Women To Visit in East Hornbrook Mrs. James Marlow and Mrs. John Shinar have left for Baltimore, Md., Mrs. Marlow's former home, where they will visit her brother. They plan to be gone until the middle of November. Travel Study Club Guest Of Medford Junior Women Members of the Travel Study club were guests of the Medford Junior Women's at their meeting Wednesday at the home of Mrs. W. B. Clegg, 2235 Oakwood drive. Both clubs are affiliated with the Oregon Federation of Women's Clubs. Those at tending from the Travel Study club included Presi dent Mrs. Jack D. Brummond, Mrs. E. C. 'Come As You Are" Theme for Meeting Gold Hill-"Come as you are' will be theme for the meeting of Amethyst Rebekah lodge Wednesday, October 19, at 8 p.m. in the Odd Fellows hall. Mrs. Daniel Stewart, no ble grand, has planned spe cial entertainment for the evening. First nomination of officers for the ensuing year will be held during the business session. The lodge has adopted Mrs. Anna Gaines, a resident of the Odd Fellows home in Portland, who will be 91 years old in December. Mem bers of Amethyst Rebekah lodge will write letters and send her birthday and Christ mas gifts and cards on other occasions. Mrs. Norman and Mrs. Willis Boone, Wade Fasel. Announcement was made To Leave Mr. and Mrs. Cecil Hall and family, 2133 Spring street, are leaving Medford this week end to live in Har bor, Ore. Mrs. Edin has started her second year as publicity chairman for the Medford branch, American Association of University Women, and also writes the news releases for Xi Mu chapter of Beta Sigma Phi. Mrs. Allen writes for the county home extension units and submits news for First Christian church. Hope Dance Studio To Provide Program For Rebekah Lodge Pupils of the Colleen Hope Dance studio will entertain at a meeting of Olive Re bekah lodge Monday, October 17, at the Odd Fellow hall, The pupils will perform at 7:45 p.m. prececding the business meeting. Final plans will be made for the rummage sale to be held October 20 at the Fehl building. Refreshments will be served by Mrs. John Small and Mrs. Frank Chapman. Sew Day To Be Thursday r-noenix - Plans for a pot luck dinner and sewing day were made by the Martha cir cle of Phoenix Presbyterian church at a meeting Tuesday. Members will hold the dinner Thursday, October 20, and those attending are to take their portable sewing ma chines and materials for gowns for church-supported institutions. . , Members are also to take articles for home medical kits for graduates of first aid in countries where medical aid is scarce. October 20 is the last day the items may be contrib uted in time for shipment, it was announced. Donations will also be accepted to buy needed items and to pay shipping charges. Hornbrook Visitors Hornhrook - Lt. Wendell Baker and his World War II "buddy," Lt. Clinton Carlson both of Portland, Ore. were guests recently at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Frank Bear. Lt. Baker is a son-in-law of the Bears. The men, both members of the U.S. Naval reserve, were enroute to the Alameda, Calif, naval train ing center, for their annual two weeks' training course. Carcoats!
