This is not an easy question to answer if only be cause so many women are a bit irregular. In such cases, it is not easy to guess when ovu-. lation will come. So far as I can remember, I never heard an able gyne cologist say a kind word about the use of the infertile period. Few physicians seem to have any strong faith in the trust worthiness of this method. One of the easiest ways of handling the situation is to gel one of the books that are available with lists of fertile and infertile days adjusted for menstrual months of the different lengths. Heart Operation for Adults Some people with heart dis ease write asking if the type of operation which is now performing miracles for chil dren could be used to cure them. I fear that usually this is not the case. Commonly, in small children, the surgeon has to fix up a heart which was duCcclive almost from birth. Perhaps a hole was left between the two sides of the heart, or a duct which, in the fetus (in the womb) carries blood from one of the two largest arteries in the body to the other did not close, when the child was born. In some adults with valvu lar heart disease one of the valves is so scarred by dis ease and so nearly closed that the person suffers greatly. In such a case, the surgeon may TELEVISION for ths Mail Tribune's readers and TV viewers. Only a few adults with heart trouble are good sub jects for surgery. Usually, the best thing for a puzzled pa tient to do is to go to a large medical center where heart specialists and heart surgeons working together will be able to decide if he could profit from an operation. Pleurisy People want to know if pleurisy can be dangerous. It certainly can be, because in some cases it is the first sign of tuberculosis of the lungs. Hence it is that anyone-and particularly a young man or woman who gets a pain in the chest that jabs with the taking of each breath-should be well examined and taken care of by an able and careful physi cian. The person should be all the more careful if he or she has been living near someone with active tuberculosis. In many cases, of course, a patch of pleurisy forms near the spot in the lungs where there is an area of broncho-pneumonia.
