Gewiss (LaodU pbolo) Marriage Ceremony Held At Westminster Church Medord's new Westminster Presbyterian church was the scene of the wedding of MUs Carol Jean Dyke to Robert C. Gewiss on Saturday, Au gust 13. The bride ii a daugh ter of Mr. and Mrs. Gene W. Dyke, 21 South Keeneway, Medford, and the bride groom'! parents are Mr. and Mrs. Albert E. Gewiss, Lea burg, Ore. The Rev. D. Kirkland West, pastor of First Presbyterian church, and the Rev. John O. Reynolds, pastor of the new church, officiated for the wedding held at three o'clock in the afternoon. Mr. Dyke gave his daughter in mar riage. White and lavender gladi olus were arranged in the entrance-way of the church, and made a floral setting for the bridal party. The bride woce a gown of Chanfilly lace over lafeta . wilh . fitted bodice, J o n g aleeves and Sabrina neckline accented with Iridescent se quins and pearls. Th full skirt was fashioned with tulle panels in back and front and with wide bands of lace in scallops. Her veil of silk illusion was held by a minia ture bonnet of Chantilly lace and tulle embroidered wilh pearls and she carried white roses. Mrs. Floyd Norton, Ash land, was matron-of-honor and the other attendants were Miss Denise Bruning, Medford and Mrs. Lynn Reitman, Cor- vallis. Their frocks were of lavender organdy over taf feta fashioned with taffeta cummerbunds and they car ried colonial bouquets of lav endar and white carnations. Robert McNutt, Eugene, was best man for the bride groom and ushers were Lynn Reitman. Corvallis, and Roger Dyke, brother of the bride. Otis Swisher sang, and Mrs. R. A. Sheldon played the tra ditional wedding marches. About 100 relatives and friends attended the reception which followed at the church. Mrs. George Flanagan cut and served the wedding cake, assisted by Mrs. Charles Mar chant. Mrs. Ross Gilkison, aunt of the bride, was at the punch bowl, assisted by Mrs. Paul Chinn. Miss Pamela Gilkison, the bride's cousin, took charge of the guest book. Mrs. D. A. Hutchison, Mrs. E. L. Lenox and Mrs. Scott Davis made up a committee of women from the church to arrange the reception. For the wedding and recep tion the bride's mother wore a silk apricot print frock with bone white accessories and white rose corsage. The bride groom's mother was attired in a powder blue linen sheath with white accessories and white rose corsage. For traveling the bride wore a Navy blue silk sheath with white accessories. The ncwlyweds will live in Boise, Ida. Community Bible Church Scene of IVedding Rites Central Point - Miss Geor gene Ann Hicks, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. George A. Hicks, 720 West 11th street, became the bride of Walter L. Sewell Jr., son of Mr. and Mrs. Wal ter L. SeweU, 5202 Table Rock Road, August 19 at Com munity Bible church. The Rev. Paul O. Kroon performed the rites at eight o'clock in the evening before a setting of lavender and while flower arrangements. Jerry HoMridge, Talent, sang, accompanied by Miss Elaine V. Kroon, organist. Mrs. W. G. Preston, sir.er of the bride, was matron of honor. Miss Sylvia Swan, Hood River, a college fnend. and .liis Joanne Hill, Talent, were bridesmaids. The bride wore a ballerina- length brocaded tafieta gown and carried a bouquet of glad ioli centered with a while orchid. She was escorted to the altar by her father. The bride's attendants wore lavender and light blue flow ered dresses and carried lav ender bouquets. The candle lighters. Barbara Willis. Cot tage Grove, and Sara Rich ards, also wore lavender dresses. Brian Sewell was best man for his brother. Seating guests were Paul Evers, of Shady Cove and David Bums, Medford. A reception for the young couple followed in the church parlors. Mrs. Isabelle Champ served the cake, which had been decorated by Mrs. Wal ter Larson. Miss Suzanne Christian, Seattle, was in charge of the guest book and Mrs. Susan Miller poured the punch. The bride attended Seattle Pacific college and the bride groom attended Crater High school. Earnest Hamaker is a for mer Railway Express agency employee at Grants Pass, Klamath Falls and Dunsmuir and was at one time a rancher in the Klamath Falls area. In Medford for the wedding were the bride's grandmoth ers, Mrs. Seth Maxwell and Mrs. John S. Dyke, both Baker, Ore. Relatives of the bridegroom here were Mr. and Mrs. William Patterson, Rogue River, his uncle and aunt, and Mr. and Mrs. Julius Pauck, cousins from Lake-view. With Mother Happy Camp Mr. and Mrs. Charles Smith and family, American Falls, Ida., arrived this week with Mrs. Smith's mother, Mrs. Amanda McCoy. She has been visiting with them for nearly two months. Mr. and Mrs. Smith will spend one week of their vaca tion visiting with other rela tives and friends in this area before returning to their home. While in Idaho Mrs. Mc Coy was taken to Yellowstone park by the Smiths.
