' 1 l Jl ; jl The famed fashion house of Lanvin-Castillo in Paris featured this gold and sequin embroidered dinner gown in its 1960 fall collection. The shawl drapery gives a Spanish accent to the dress of black wool crepe. The balloon skirt of this Marucelli of Rome design drops the waistline without ignor ing natural curves in a striking cocktail dress of brown satin and faille. The strap less bodice, which alternates the fabric in stripes, serves as a backdrop for the multi strand gold necklace. .' This brown crepe daytime dress by ' Balestra of Rome has a pine-cone pot- f tern skirt topped by a narrow satin ' belt, plain bodice and short sleeves. Red velvet flowers bloom at the hem and neckline of a short evening gown (at left) from the fall collection of Centinaro of Rome. In pale beige satin, the gown has a matching coat with elaborate pleating on the huge collar. Chanel (right) does her beloved "little suit" in violet tweed with a frivolous violet fringe. Chanel's designs are copyrighted; copying is forbidden. :1 1 a. Mattli of London sets a hobble at the base of a printed satin evening gown for gala fall occasions. Additional Paris designs will be released August 30. V Reminiscent of the colorful costumes of the bull ring, Sarli's bright red wool suit features a short, loose jacket with deep back pleat over a short loose skirt with deep front pleat. Match ing silk cord ties, ending in little pompoms, hold the jacket closed. Done in a thickly-corded red silk and wool fabric, the dress has a wide belt marking a natural waistline. Buttons are swept to the right in Sarli of Rome's strik ing grey camel's hair coat which has its own little round collar and dramatic cape that bunches softly across the front and sweeps down in a low point to ward the back hem. Both coat and cape are lined in brilliant red. 1 f miimiwimuj up. ' - h "3, Norman Hartnell, dressmaker to Britain's royal family, calls this striking cocktail costume "Town Mouse." Done in mouse-grey satin with gold lace appliqued on the strapless bodice and full skirt, the gown has a full length casually cut coat. I !t I ! Flying the fashion coop, the cock shoe (left) and the hen shoe are worn at the same time.
