District 6C, which includes Central Point, Gold Hill and Sams Valley, and the Phoenix school dis trict also are building new classrooms which will be ready for fall opening. Junior high school students in Ashland will move into a new building this fall. It was constructed, after the state fire marshr.l condemned the old structure and the voters ap proved a bond issue for the new structure. Classrooms Renovated In many of the districts where the pupil increase will not be as great, the increase will be absorbed in the pres ent classes, or classrooms will be renovated to facilitate more students. More than 16,800 students are expected to attend grade, junior high and high schools In Jackson county this year. The breakdown by school dis tricts of the estimated number of students this fall: Medford, 8,046 (an increase of more than 300 students); District 6C, 2,456 (an increase of about 200); Pinehujrst, 35 (an increase of 8 students); Eagle Point, 1,220 (an increase of about 70); Rogue River, 655 (an increase of about 80); Butte Falls, 180 (an increase of about 15); Prospect, 285 (no increase anticipated); Apple- gate, 90 (no increase anticipat-i 2,500 (some increase); and ed); Evans Valley, - 110 (no Phoenix, 1,300 (some in ihcrease anticipated); Ashland, creaseX - , BACK TO SCHOOL (LJI1 522 Now comes the moment of young ster's back-to-school.
