White Cross Mission Circles of Women's Fellowship, First Baptist church, will meet Tuesday, July 26. Day circles will meet at 10 a.m. and the evening circles at 7:30 p.m. Members of most day circles are to take a sack lunch; all attending any circle should take scissors and any cotton or wool scraps for quilt pieces old sheets or pillowslips are also needed to make band ages. Ruth circle will meet with Mrs. C. G. Gay, ' 600 Mary place, at 10 a.m.? according to the chairman, Mrs. Fred Landers, members are to take cake and cooky mix and jel lo. Rebecca Circle, according to the chairman, Mrs. Gilbert Hill, will meet with Mrs. Na than Hill, 521 Dakota avenue. Esther circle will meet at the home of Mrs. Kate Nelson, 3378 Bellinger lane; the chair man, Mrs. Murtone Daily sks that the members bring cooky mix. , Mrs. James Beams, chair man, will be hostess to Mar tha Circle, and will furnish luncheon for those attending. According to the chairman, Mrs. Helmer Tinseth, a special offering will be taken for the Larry ' Johnson's missionaries to Pak istan. ; 1 Nevita Chapter To Hold Picnic i Central Point-Nevita chap ter, Order of Eastern Star, will hold a picnic Tuesday, July 26, at Jackson Hot Springs, starting at 6:30 p.m. The event is for members of the OES and Masonic lodges i in Central Point. ! Persons are to lake a basket picnic and their own table service. Coffee, punch and ice cream will be furnished. f The event will include swimming and other enter tainment. The annual picnic and swimming party of the Med ford Junior Women's club was held at TouVolle State park Wednesday, July 20. Members were hostesses to their children. Chairman for the event was Mrs. Wayne M. Allen, She was assisted by Mrs. Robert C. Vincent and Mrs. William K. Jensen. of Theta Rho Girls of Central Point. Presiding as master of cer emonies was Ellsworth Robi son, Central Point, deputy grand master of the IOOF grand lodge of Oregon. Members of the auxiliary to Siskiyou canton, Patriarchs Militant, Medford, presented the colors and the Rev. D. E. Millard, Eagle Point, past grand chaplain of the grand lodge, gave the invocation. J. E. Vincent, Central Point, gave the address of welcome. Connie McDonough, Patsy Charley, Ellen Ward and Marcia Miller performed baton twirling numbers. Mrs. Claude Lewis sang. Among the guests was Mrs. Riley Appelgate, Central Point, vice president of the Rebekah Assembly of Oregon, and Miss Mary Wilson, Med ford, second herald of the Theta Rho Assembly of Ore gon. Topic Announced For Herb Society Mrs. Verne Shangle will speak on "Green Medicine" at the Tuesday, July 26, meet ing of the Rogue Valley Herb society at the home of Mrs. John Holtz, 2121 East Jack son street, Medford. The meeting will start at 1:30 p.m. Each member will exhibit a cigar box herb garden. Herb of the month is symphyrum officinal. Mrs. Shangle will assist Mrs. Holtz. Old roses was the topic of the June meeting. Many speci mens of roses were displayed. Guests attending included Mrs. Roy Cyr, W. H. Dyer, Dayton Depue, Ira Fitzgerald, all Medford; Mrs. Fred, Tamm, Eagle Point; Mrs. Roger Smott, Talent; Mrs. Chester Myers, Santa Barbara, Calif., and Steveanne, Dee and Kit Counts, Grants Pass. Herb cookies were served with Mrs. Stephen Counts assisting. : Brewster- Crick Ceremony Of Interest in Count v TraU-UI interest to area residents is the wedding of Miss Mnrcclla Phyllis Crick, Salem, and William Leaven worth Brewster, son of Mr, and Mrs. William E. Brewster, Trail, in the First Congrega tional church in Salem July 9. The bride s parents are Mr and Mrs. Marshall Crick, Sa- lem. Dr. Burton Bastuscheck of Willamette university offici ated at the three o'clock after noon rites. Lavender and pink gladioli decorated the church for the ceremony and lavender bows marked the pew ends. Soloist was Verne Esch. Given in marriage by her father, the bride wore a floor length frock of eyelet embroi dered organdy. . The fitted bodice was accented with scal loped embroidery and the tiered skirt terminated in a chapel train. Her fingertip length veil of silk tulle was held by a pearl headdress. She carried a cascade bou quet of Sterling Silver roses. Mrs. Robert H. Tremaine, Corvallis, sister of the bride, was matron of honor. Brides matrons were Mrs. Donald Watilo and Mrs. David De Lapp. They wore lavender silk organza frocks over blue and lavender floral polished cotton dresses. The sashes were of the floral print and they carried cascade bouquets of orchid ' colored glamellias. Flower girl was little Debra Nelson who wore a white frock with lavender cummer bund. Donald J. Wiley served as best man and seating the guests were Billy S. Adams and Robert H. Tremaine. Ring bearer was Charles Klingler. For her daughter's wedding and reception which followed in the fireplace room at the church. Mrs. Crick chose a dress of beige silk organza and lace with beige and brown accessories. Her cor sage was a yellow cymbidium orchid. Mrs. Brewster wore a beige lace dress with pink ac- Temple Plans Reception For Joseph Cooks Plans for a reception ob serving the fiftieth wedding anniversary of Mr. and Mrs. Joseph Cook were made by a group of officers and mem bers of Talisman temple, Pythian Sisters, at a meeting held recently at the home of Mrs. Edward Bostwick. Mrs. Bostwick is most excellent chief of the temple. The reception will be held Sunday, August 7, from 2 to 4 p.m. at the Pythian hall. Mrs. Harry Bryant will be general chairman of the event, with Mrs. Walter Gro chocki and Mrs. P. M. Ald redge assisting. Past Chiefs club of Pythian Sisters will mee at the home of Mrs. T. M. Littlefield, Shady Cove, July 26 at 1 p.m. for a potluck luncheon. Mrs. Ruth Walden, president, will conduct a business session. All visiting past chiefs of the Pythian Sisters are invited to attend. The evening prior to the wedding Mr. and Mrs. Brew ster entertained members of the bridal party at a dinnbr at the Plantation in Dallas, Ore., following the rehearsal. Old Timers Take Part In Event Rogue Valley Old Timers club members were guests, along with members of the Eugene Horseless Carriage club, for the Salmon Har bor fourth annual Fleet Days. It was sponsored by the Low er umpqua Chamber of Com merce July 16-17, Nine members and their families took the trip, with four members driving cars. Earl Swift drove his , 1024 Ford mllkwagon, Frank Hor ton his 11128 Model A Ford, Howard Walter made the trip In his 1929 Model A coupe and Bruce Blew his 1937 Cord Beverly sedan. Five members took cars on trailers. They were Jack Milhonn, who took a 1915 Model T Ford touring car; Lowell Reavis, a 1924 Bulck runabout, Jim Cowic his 1915 Model T touring cur; , Roy Erickson his 1927 Nash and Earl Kurz took his 1015 Model T Ford touring ear. Saturday Uio group par ticipated in a chowder feed and parade at Reedsport and later attended a smorgasbord supper at Umpqua Lighthouse Stale park. Rides were taken over the Oregon sand dunes in beach buggies, and the evening ended with a huge bonfire party on the beach. The show Is open to artists who are residents of Califor nia, Oregon and Washington. Of those who are exhibiting this year six are from Oregon, 49 from Washington and 50 from California.
