It ia report ed that more research in psy chiatry and psychology Is con ducted by the VA than any other agency of the govern ment. Court Agrees To Buy Ashland Land The Jackson county court Friday agreed to purchase 2 310 acres of land at Moun tain ave. and the railroad tracks in Ashland on which to store county road depart ment equipment, County Com missioner Ralph James said. Purchase price is $7,500, James aid. Effective now the county will have use of the property rent-free until Jan. 1 when it will assume owner ship. The county has been us ing the property for maintain ing a storage shed for 20 year). However, the property was recently acquired by a group of Ashland people who wanted the county to pay more rent or buy it. County court members In spected the property Thursday. Fred Stock, chairman of the Medford 20110 club-sponsored project, suld Friday that more than 800 youths have filed job applications in Medford mid about 200 have filed in Ashland. Hut It's a different story with employers. There have been only 30 Job referrals In Medford and one In Ashland. Most of the employers have been private Individual) seek ing teen-agers to do such chores us yardwork and baby sitting, Stock said, adding that this type of employment is what la needed to make the project aucccss. First of Its Kind The program, first of Its kind In this area, opened near ly two months ago.
