Cave Junction Group Holds Meet Cave Junction - Thirteen members attended a recent meeting of Blue Star Mothers. Mrs. Albert E. Weber, Los Angeles, was a visitor. Mrs. Cora Prentice was initiated as a new member. Mrs. Paul Lcrchcrt was elected secretary in place ol Mrs. Clifford Davis. A total ol $78.20 was turned in for work at Camp White domicil iary and a total of $160.50 lor welfare work. The group plans to send a canteen book to Richard Mock in the Veterans hospital, Port land. Coin cards are to be turned in at the July 10 meet ing. Wind Whips Coals I Other accidents are caused by strong blasts of wind whip ping the hot coals Into flames and directing them toward the cook. Where the children are con cerned, Dykstra suggested the firmest parental discipline. Toddlers most often burn themselves by touching or tipping the grill. "The children should be taught that the grill is off limits until they are old enough to realize the danger," he said. Francis B. Elder, associate director ol the American Pub lic Health association, made additional suggestions. Sharp - pronged cook - out tools shouldn't be left in a place where a person can trip over them. Don't let guests -adult or Juvenile - use the tools for horseplay. "It's all meant in lun," he said, "but a playful jab with a long-pronged fork can go wild and injure an eye." Electric Grill Elder urged caution when using an electric grill that's hooked up with extension cords from inside the house. "When the grass is wet or the hands arc wet, grabbing a makeshift connection may cause electrocution." The experts warned against hitting the panic button, if an accident does occur. If clothing catches fire, do n't run. Roll on the lawn. If the accident is a little one, causing a minor burn, cleanse it and apply ointment or petroleum jelly.
