' Mather - DeVore Ceremony Held in Gold Hill Hall Rogue River - Miss Geral Dean DeVore, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. John DeVore, Rogue River, became the bride of Robert Mather, son of Mr. and Mrs. Howard Mather, 2423 Howard avenue, Medford, in a ceremony held Saturday, June 4. The rites took place in the Kingdom hall of Jehovah's Witnesses in Gold Hill. The double ring ceremony was performed by James W. Lehrmann in a setting of white and pink carnations and yellow iris. Hadiea Ada Boynton Bride of Edwin Strother Shady Cove-Mr. and Mrs. Edwin S. Strother are making a trip to Pendleton, Ore., and Lake Chelan, Wash., follow ing their wedding in Medford June 3. Mrs. Strother is the former Mrs. Ada B. Boynton, 1059 Morrow road, Medford. Mr. Strother has made his home here the past eight years. The couple was married in W e s t m i n ster Presbyterian church in a single-ring cere mony at 4:30 o'clock. The Rev John O. Reynolds officiated. The bride wore a navy blue silk suit with light blue hat and black accessories. Mrs, Harry Elmore, 1059 Morrow road, was matron of honor for her mother and Edwin S. Strother Jr., Bend, was best man. Mr. Elmore escorted the bride to the altar. Only members of the fami ly attended. Peonies and iris provided a s e 1 1 i n g for the service. Following the ceremony a dinner for the wedding party and a small reception was held in the Elmore home. Guests attending, in addi tion to the wedding party, were Mrs. Strother Jr., Bend; Mrs. Ali Sandoz, daughter of the bridegroom, Long view. Wash.; Mr. and Mrs. Eric Bauer, son-in-law and daugh ter of the bridegroom. Weed, Calif.; and Christy and John Elmore, children of Mr. and Mrs. Harry Elmore. The newlyweds will make their home in Shady Cove following their return about June 15. 1 Bridge Tourney Set Wednesday Players from Klamath Falls and Grants Pass are expected here Wednesday for a spe cially sanctioned one-winner open pairs bridge tournament conducted by Riverside Bridge club. The bride, given in marriage by her father, wore a princess style ballerina length white embroidered lace and white satin gown. Her fingertip veil was held by a rhinestone tiara and she carried a cascade bou quet of pink rosebuds and stephanotis with a white orchid center. Mrs. Carl Ratzat, the ma tron of honor, was gowned in embroidered taffeta as was the bridesmaid, Miss Adjean DeVore, sister of the bride. Both carried nosegays of glad iolus. Flower girl was Deborah Governor, niece of the bride groom. Her dress was of blue taffeta. Kurt White was the ring bearer. Paul Mather served as best 1 man for his brother. Ushers were Warren Mather, Robert Govenor, Lyle Pope, Ethan Robinson, Jess Netherland and Leonard Shoemaker. The mothers of both the bride and bridegroom wore afternoon dresses of blue with corsages of white carnations. Immediately following the ceremony, a reception was held at the Grange hall in Rogue River. Mrs. James W. Lehrmann was in charge of the guest book. At the gift table ,was Miss Bonnie Base ler and Miss Sharon Mather. Cake was served by Mrs. William Reddington, Mrs. Ted Elliott, and Mrs. John Dunn. Mrs. Gracie Lehrmann and Mrs. Peter Bozich presided at the coffee service. Mrs. Paul Mather was at the punch bowl. After a brief wedding trip the couple are making their home in Prospect where the bridegroom is employed. 1 Sojourners Hold Luncheon Event A large bouquet of red and white roses and white candles decorated the luncheon table when Sojourners club met at the Girls Community club Thursday. Hostesses for the meeting were Mrs. Wayne Craig, chairman, Mrs. Oscar Rasmusscn and Mrs. Glenn Tuttle. Mrs. Robert Hercher was introduced as a new member. Mrs. D. H. Wood, president, announced the names of the nominating committee, who will present the new officers for the next six months. Mem bers are Mrs. Dwight Crozier, chairman, Mrs. A. L. McClure, Mrs. Fred Cate, Mrs. E. W. Ingram and Mrs. Walter Mar quess. At cards prizes for canasta were won by Mrs. Rosa Auten and Mrs. Thomas Reid; pi nochle, Mrs. D. H. Wood, Mrs. E. W. Ingram and Mrs. H. F. Griffiths and Mrs. J. L. David son and Mrs. A. P. Collins won the bridge prizes. An award was presented to Mrs. Walter Stockburger. The next meeting of the club will be held June 23 at the Girls Community club. All women in Medford and vi cinity who have lived here less than two years are in vited to attend the club meet ings and become members. Sardine Creek Party Series to Continue; Coffee Announced Gold Hill-Women of Sar dine Creek are invited to at tend a coffee hour at the home of Mrs. Walter Whitney, Tuesday, June 14 at 1 p.m. Children whose mothers at tend the party will be pro vided recreation at the home of Mrs. Georgia Wilson. Mrs. Leonard McMahan will assist her. This will be the second of a series of neighborhood cof fee hours which women of Sardine Creek plan to hold once each month. The events will give all residents of Sar dine Creek an opportunity to get acquainted. A so cial hour preceded the lunch eon which was served to 92 guests. Mrs. Bruce Blew, co-chair man of Medford Ladies of Elks, introduced the Grants Pass Ladies of Elks officers, They included Mrs. Milner Larson, president; Mrs. Tom McFarland, vice - president; Mrs. Bob Kelso, secretary, and Mrs. Bill Barrett, treasurer. Others introduced were Mrs. Emil Unger, co-chairman of Medford Ladies of Elks; Mrs. A. J. Farra, card chairman; Mrs. Claud Hoover, hospitali ty chairman; Mrs. H. J. Boyd, greeting committee chairman, ochle; and Mrs. Sherman Miss Simonne Petard, 310 Portland avenue, became the bride of Joseph Munneke, Sac ramento, Calif., in a nuptial mass held Saturday, June 4, at Sacred Heart Catholic church. The Rev. William Mc Leod officiated at the 10:30 o'clock morning rites. The bride, a daughter of the late Mr. and Mrs. Auguste Petard, Jacksonville, was a secretary for Sacred Heart Catholic parish. Mr. Munneke is a son of Marshall Munneke, Willows, Calif. Baskets of white stock and pink daisies decorated the al tar and church for the wed ding attended by 80 relatives and friends. Bruno Pellegrini played the organ wedding music and accompanied Miss Frances Thrun and John Kuchler, who sang. The bride wore a lace and net gown over taffeta fash ioned with fitted lace bodice. The full net skirt has lace panels in front. Her fingertip length veil fell from a crown of seed pearls and sequins and she carried two white orchids on a white prayer book. Cecil VanHorn, Gold Hill, escorted the bride to the altar. Miss Loretta Zeleznik was honor attendant. She wore pale pink taffeta frock with deep rose accessories. She carried a nosegay of white carnations and baby pink roses. Auguste Petard, Jackson ville, brother of the bride, served as best man. Seating the guests were Richard Wa ger and Leonard Thrun. Following the ceremony a reception was given at Kim's by Mr. and Mrs. VanHorn, Gold Hill. Mrs. Dale Pratt cut and served the wedding cake and Mrs. Mae Jean Hueners presided at the punch bowl. Miss Thrun was in charge of the guest book. The couple sent a layer of the wedding cake to the bride's aunt and uncle in Par is, France. The couple will make their home in Sacramento, Calif., after June 15 when they re turn from a wedding trip to Vancouver and Victoria, B.C. For traveling the bride wore a green linen brocaded sheath frock with 'jacket and brown accessories. The bride is a graduate of Jacksonville High school. Mr Munneke is a graduate of San Fernando, Calif., High school and is employed by the Pacif ic Telephone and Telegraph company in Sacramento. Among the out of town guests attending the wedding were Mr. and Mrs. Munneke, Party Planned At Girls Club A public card party spon sored by the Past Noble Grands club, Olive Rebekah lodge, will be held Tuesday, June 14, at 12:30 p.m. at Girls Community club. A salad luncheon will be served pre ceding games of pinochle and canasta. Mrs. Carl Pearson is in charge of the luncheon. Aldredge, SPring 2-6459. 1 Oregonians Leave For Mexico Visit Gold Hill-Mrs. Neal Bush, Hillsboro, Ore., joined Mrs. Paul Thompson, Miss Jenny Lou Thompson and Paul Thompson, Gold Hill, here for a stay before the group left to spend a vacation in California and Mexico. In Mexico they will visit rela tives, the Creighton Thomp son and Leroy Byerly fam ilies in Ciuda'd Obregon, So- Willows, father and step mother of the bridegroom; Miss Glenna Munneke, Los Angeles, sister of the bride groom; and Ted and Mike Munneke, Sacramento, sons of the bridegroom.
