S..4.,, Me? , U, VX 4 I 3 O e3p, li J ArmChair Program Announced United Stale forest service personnel will show colored slides of Oregon forests and parks at the Arm Chair Trav el group meeting Monday, May 9, at 1 p.m. in the Senior Activity center, 6(11 East Jack son street. Mrs. Judd Green man is arranging the weekly program during May. Since the start of the Center J'.i years ago more than 70 older persons have attended this travel group serie s, many of them every week. This was announced recently by Mrs. Harry Fuller, board member, who has kept a record of the addresses of persons who use the Center. Mrs. Fuller explained that' the board wishes to know if the Center is centrally enough located to serve all the senior citizens when adequate quar ters can be built on the same property. The present struc ture will accommodate 25 per sons, it was explained. It was noted that only Port land, Eugene, and Metlford have activities for their senior citizens in the categories of orchestra and painting and woodworking classes. This point was brought out recent ly at the Oregon Stale Con ference on Aging in Salem. Mr. Van Dyck is a salesman for Big Pine Lumber company and works nights as a movie projectionist. The family all attend Sacred Heart Catholic church and Mrs. Van Dyck works in both of the parents clubs of St. Mary's school.
