Palm Benediction Scheduled Sunday In accordance with ancient tradition of the church, the benediction of the Palmi will take place at the 8 a.m. Holy Eucharist at St. Mark's Epis copal church Sunday. The Palms, especially im ported from the Holy Land or the purpose, will adorn the altar, be carried by the choir in procession, and the remainder will be fashioned into small crosses by mem bers of the Altar guild, and be distributed to worshippers on Palm Sunday, the first day of Holy Week. According to traditional practice these crosses are re tained until Ash Wednesday of the following year when they are burned at the start of another Lenten season. The Rev. George R. V. Bolster will preach at both 9:30 and 11 a.m. services, with musical selections by the choir under the direction of John E. Drys dale. During Holy Week the Eu charist will be celebrated each day, Monday through Thurs day, at 11 and 7 a.m. alter nately. Good Friday, April 15, the Three Hour Vigil at the Cross will be observed from 12 noon to 3 p.m. with the clergy lead ing meditations on the Seven Lsst Words. This service will be so arranged that wor shippers may come and go at indicated intervals during the afternoon. Ascension Lutheran Tells Activities The Rev. Elvin S. Tollefson, pastor of Ascension Lutheran church, will speak on "Behold Thy King" at the 11 a.m. di vine worship service Sunday. For the Palm Sunday serv ice Dr. and Mrs. Justin Dyrud will sing "O Divine Redeem er." Two members of the board of deacons will be installed and the lawn trees will be dedicated. The dedication service had previously been scheduled for last Sunday. Monday the stewardship committee will meet at 7:30 p.m. and a work party will meet Tuesday from 5 to 7 p.m. The Wednesday Lenten serv ice at 7:30 p.m. will be on "The Temptation of Christ." Thursday Mr. Tollefson will speak on "Given For You" during a Maundy Thursday communion service at 7:30 p.m. Good Friday services will be held at the church from noon until 3 p.m.. The memorial building at the park which houses the reproduction .will be open to the public each day from 2 to 4 p.m. On Good Fri day, Saturday, and Easter Sunday, the showings will begin at 10 a.m. and con tinue throughout the day until 10 p.m. During each presentation the story of the painting and of The Last Supper will be given. The presentation lasts about 20 minutes, Ferris said, and will begin on the hour and half hour. Lay Speaker at Church Sunday Gold Hill - Thomas Hunt ington will be lay speaker prior to the sermon entitled "The Day of Triumph" by the Rev. O. L. Kendal, pastor of the Gold Hill Community Methodist church, Sunday at 11 a.m. Mrs. C. Norman Gail, choir director, said the choir will sing during the worship serv ice. Mrs. John Bruce will be organist. Following the worship serv ice a coffee hour will be held with members of the Wom an's Society of the church in charge. Mrs. Kermit Bickle will pre sent the lesson on the second chapter of Timothy at the worship service at 6:30 p.m. at the church. "So You Have Been To Camp" will be the title of a IS minute film that will be shown during the church school hour. Mrs. George T. Allen, di rector of the Senior Methodist Youth Fellowship, said the group will discuss camping trips that are proposed for the summer months, at a meeting Sunday at 6:30 p.m. at the church. Weather permitting, volley ball will be played by those attending. Members of the group ac companied by Mrs. Allen and Mrs. Sam Jones recently hiked to the top of Table Rock where they had a picnic lunch and took colored movies. .
