Homer Eugene BUIupi Newlywed Couple Honored Af Reception Central Point-Mr. and Mr. Homer Eugene Billups, who were married February 13 in Reno, Nev., were honored at a bedding reception given March 6. The bride is the for mer Janice Yvonne Henry, daughter of Mrs. Claude Hen ry, Central Point, and the late Mi Henry. Mr. Billups is a son of Mr. and Mrs. Frank Billups, Yellville, Ark. The reception, given by Mrs. Henry, was at Girls Com munity club at three o'clock in the afternoon. About 85 guests attended. The club was decorated in pink and silver, pink and white gladiolus made up the floral arrange ments, and silver candlesticks held white candles. The bride's table was centered with an arrangement of pink rosebuds and white freesias and the wedding cake was en circled with pink rosebuds and fern. The cake decoration includ ed music box which played Wagner's Wedding March as the newlyweds left the re ceiving line and approached th refreshment table. Exclusively ours . Mrs. Carl Bismark, another sister of the bride, served punch and Mrs. Mi chael Beck poured coffee. Miss Pamela Cox, niece of the bride, took charge of the guest book and Miss Marilyn Jones and Miss Barbara Swanson received the gifts. Mrs. Mary Jones provided wedding music. For the reception the bride wore her wedding dress, a light blue sheath with scoop neckline bodice trimmed with embroidery. Her corsage was a white orchid. The bride's mother wore a dress of rose lace over taffeta with blue accessories and white carnation corsage. The wedding ceremony took place at First Baptist church in Reno. The Rev. Blake M. Werner. The concert, which will close the 1959-1960 concert season, will-be heard this aft ernoon at 3 o'clock at the Medford High school auditor ium. Soloist for the event will be Harlalec Wilson, member of the Portland Symphony orchestra. Tickets will be available at the box office starting at 2 o'clock. Guild Announces Card Party Date Plans are underway for the annual card party given by St. Catherine's guild of St. Mark's Episcopal church. Mrs. Louis Thurman and Mrs. Russell Renner, co-chairmen for the event, have an nounced that the theme will be "A Spring Fiesta," and the date has been set for Tuesday, May 10. The committees have been appointed and have be gun working on the event. The next meeting of the Guild, which is being held Monday, March 14 at 8 p.m., will be a work session and the evening will be devoted to working on card party decora tions. A guest night meeting will be held March 28. Mrs. Frank Hunt, president, has urged members to invite any former and now inactive members, prospective members, friends and any interested persons. A social evening is planned. Past Matrons Club Announces Meeting Adarel Past Matrons club, Order of Eastern Star, will meet for a dessert luncheon Monday, March 14, at 12:30 o'clock at the home of Mrs. C. W. Shores, 52 Oak Grove road. Mrs. Gertrude Winningham will be co-hostess. Miss Mae Dunkin of Reno at tended the bride. Mr. and Mrs. Billups are making their home at 529 Bush street in Central Point. The bride attended Crater High school and the bride groom attended school in San Diego, Calif., and was gradu ated from Yellville High school in Arkansas. The bride formerly was employed at La Pointe's store; the bride groom is a dental technician at Ward's laboratory. The bride is a daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Curtis W. Ma son, route 1, box 528, and the bridegroom is a son of Mr. and Mrs. Ronald C. Nelsen, route 1, box 382. The Rev. George Roseberry performed the ceremony at 8 o'clock ' in the evening in Meeker chapel. About 80 guests attended. Salmon-colored gladioli and white stock decorated the chapel. Mr. Mason gave his daugh ter in marriage. She wore a full-length gown of white Mr. and Mrs. Ceremony At Home Weds Pair Miss Sharen Tepovac, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. L. M. Bilderback, 418 Haven street, became the bride of Pfc. Frank H. Mayer, Fort Camp bell, Ky., in a ceremony Feb ruary 27 at the home of the bride's parents. The bridegroom is a son of Mr. and Mrs. R. J. Mayer, Grass Valley, Calif. The Rev. Melvin Dixon per formed the ceremony at 2 o'clock in the afternoon. About 20 friends and relatives attended. Bouquets of spring flowers decorated the rooms. The bride, given in mar riage by her step-father, wore a pink chiffon dress and car ried a bouquet of white car nations studded with pink roses. Miss Sandra Heidemann was maid of honor and wore a grey-green wood suit and a yellow carnation corsage. Ronald Tepovac, the bride's brother, was best-man. Following a reception in the Bilderback home, the young couple traveled to Crescent City for their honeymoon, the bride wearing a b 1 u e satin sheath frock with white coat. Pfc. Mayer has returned to Army service at Fort Camp bell and the young couple will be at home there in Au gust, when the bride is to join her husband. Guests included Mrs. W. P. Krasselt, Seattle, Wash. Party Wednesday Veterans of World War I, Barracks 540 and auxiliary, plan a public card party Wed nesday, March 16, at 7:30 p.m., at the Girls' Community club. Auxiliary members will serve dessert and coffee. Her veil was loaned by her sister, Mrs. Gale Friend. Her flowers were white roses. Miss Jo Ann Cooper, Shady Cove, who was maid of honor, wore a sheath dress and over skirt of light tangerine color. Other attendants were Miss Delberta Spain, Shady Cove, and Mrs. Jack Greb, who wore mint-green dresses of similar style. Mayer Mrs. Michael Kim Griffin Two Students Wed Recently Mr. and Mrs. Boyd Edwin Budge, 108 Highland drive, announce the wedding of their daughter, Barbara Ann, to Michael Kim Griffin, son of Mrs. Burle S. Griffin, 2085 Ridgeway street, and the late Mr. Griffin. The young couple was mar ried February 17 in Steven son. Wash. Both are students at Medford High school. The bridegroom's mother wore a lavender suit with a pink and white rosebud corsage. The newlyweds are gradu ates of Eagle Point High school. The bride is an em ployee in the Medford city hall and the bridegroom is employed at Cascade Wood Products. Following their wedding they visited the bridegroom's father, who was a patient at Rogue Valley Memorial hos pital. Williams, Westhope, N.D., in a cere mony held Sunday, March 6, in Meeker Memorial chapel of First Methodist church. The ceremony was attend ed by eight close friends of the couple. The double ring rite was held at four o'clock in the afternoon. Dr. George G. Roseberry officiated. The bride wore a beige lace frock with matching crushed satin belt which form ed a back bustle. It was fashioned with three-quarter length sleeves and the neck line formed a vee in back. Her accessories were pink and her corsage was of pink carnations and rosebuds. Mrs. Roseberry . attended the bride. She wore a purple knit dress with purple acces sories and her corsage was of pink carnations. Lighted tapers were on the altar with an open Bible and floral arrangements. Following the ceremony a reception was held by mem bers of the Toastmistress club. The bride is president of the club. Twenty-two club mem bers attended the reception at the home of Mrs. Edith Whillock, 1003 West Main street. Pink carnations and rosebuds decorated the serv ing table. Mrs. Effie Kurtz played piano background mu sic. The couple plan a wedding trip later to Crescent City, Calif., and are making their home at 2495 West Main street.
