"Pvamalion" will be produced Thursday ' and Friday, February - 18-19, in Meatord rugn scnooi auauonum. - - ' Sojourners To Mark Anniversary Mr. Dee Wood, president of Sojourners club, announced during a meeting of the club Thursday that the twentieth anniversary of the founding of Medford Sojourners will be celebrated with a lunch eon February 25 at the Girls Community club. Past presi dents and charter members will be honored at this time. Using the valentine motif, the dessert table was decorat ed with two blown crystal Union to Honor Frances Willard Under the leadership of Mrs. E. Santo, a dramatized story of the life of Frances Willard will be presented at the next meeting of the Wo men's Christian Temperance Union to be held in the Girl s Community club, Thursday, Feb. 18, at 2 p.m. Mrs. Stanley Chirgwin will give highlights of the life of Miss Willard. Mrs. J. C. Sparks is in charge of de votions and music. Hostesses for the tea hour include Mrs. Fred Reich, Mrs. Edna Pursel and Mrs. Ina Renker. An invitation is extended to all interested to attend. ' Home Economics Club Announces Meeting Roxy Ann Home Economics club will meet at the home of Mrs. Mabel Christiansen, 04 West Jackson street, at 8 p.m. Wednesday, February 17. Mrs. Paul Dalton will be co-hostess. bud vases holding four red roses. Several February angel figurines were placed on heart doilies. Two red candles also held angel figurines. Hostesses were Mrs. Cuba Corn, Mrs. John Niss and Mrs. Jack Brennan. Four new members wel comed were Mrs. Hope F. Jen kins, Mrs. Marvin Slavens, Mrs. Roland Howard and Mrs. Raymond Vaughan. A pros Dective member, Mrs. Arthur G. Dyal, was introduced. At cards, prizes for bridge went to Mrs. Oscar Rasmus sen and Mrs. H. F. Griffiths; ninochle. - to Mrs. H. E. Car- nell and canasta to Mrs. Beryl Lyon and Mrs. Henry Miller. Mrs. I. W. Housechild re ceived a special award. Reservations for the next meeting are to be made not later than Monday, February 22, by calling Mrs. Wood, SPring 3-5649 or Mrs. Walter Marquess, SPring 2-8945. , The club invites all women who have resided in Medford and vicinity two years or less to attend and become members. Students Design, Make Costumes Dior may have been consid ered the most famous de signer of the '50's, but the cos-1 tume staff of "Pygmalion," senior class play of Medford High school, believe they should be accorded some fame for early I960 design ing At least among their fel low students at MHS. Headed by Penny Lynn, the staff has been busily prepar ing ihtt costumes for the play. which is to be presented Feb ruary 18 and 19. After study inff hnnks of the 1912 period. the cirls proceeded to make original sketches from which they made the 13 costumes for all the female roles. The male characters will be out fitted with ready-made cos tumes. - - A ereat varietv of materials and colors are being used in these creations, which are ne cessary for a production of this kind. Satins, cotton, or gandies and linens, are among the materials cnosen, wun colors ranging from dark browns and grays to pink and light green. Staff members include Shirley Boswell, Lois Wright, Rita McBeth. Janice Evern- ham, M a r g o r i e wonderly, Donna Dell, Sharon Laing, and Rita Miller. ' Tickets for the production may be purchased at Puruck- ers, Barkers, or from senior class members. Ruth Esther Guild To Meet on Monday Plans for a food sale to be held by Esther Wesleyan Service guild of First Meth odist church will be made at a guild meeting in the church library Monday, February 22, at 7:30 p.m. The sale will be at vtne Home Appliance store, 115 East Main street. "Feast and Palaver" is the subject of the program to be given by Mrs. Louise Davis. Mrs. Charles Adamson will head the hostess committee. Club Worker Wins Watch Miss Georgia Hubbard, 16-year-old. Eagle Point 4-H club member, was presented a wrist watch as a state dairy foods demons tra tion win ner at the An t e 1 o p e 4-H club meeting Thursdav eve- Miu Hubbard nine in Ea gle Point. The watch was presented by Glenn Klein, county 4-H club agent on behalf of the Carna tion company, donor of the award. Miss Hubbard, daughter of Mr. and Mrs.W. R. Hubbard, Eagle Point, received the award in recognition of her outstanding work in the field of demonstrations with dairy products. Miss Hubbard gave a dem onstration on centennial pie, which contained sieved cot tage cheese. She is a member of the Antelope 4-H club and is in her sixth year of 4-H club work. . Wrist watches were also won by three other Oregon 4-H club members. They were Miss Lynne Marie Hoffman and Miss Margaret Carlstrom, both Ontario, team prize for cheese sandwich demonstra tion, and Miss Donna Ebert, Salem, who has completed nearly 30 projects in general home economics during her 10 years as a 4-H club mem ber. Veterans, Auxiliary Plan Social Evening Veterans of World War I, Barracks 540, and auxiliary will have a social evening February 17 at 7:30 p.m. at niris Cnmmunitv club. Pictures of Hawaii will be shown, followed by cards and nhpr fames. Refreshments will be served and auxiliary members are to bring sandwiches, cake or a jelled dessert. Pythian Sisters To Meet Tuesday Talisman temple. Pythian Sisters, will hold their regu lar meeting in' the Pythian hall Tuesday, February 16, at 8 p.m. Mrs. Edward E. Bostwick has announced the appoint ment of Mrs. Amy Snyder, Ashland, as chairman of the telephoning committee. Mr. and Mrs. P. M. Al dredge will show color slides of the installation of Pythian Sisters and the Knignts. All members having birth days in January and Febru ary will be honored.
