Shower Honors Mary Pat Lucy Miss Mary Pat Lucy was honored with a gift shower at the last meeting of the Jack son County Home Extension Advisory committee. The meeting was held at the home of Mrs. Glen V. Al len with a luncheon served at noon. Miss Lucy is the home dem onstration agent for Jackson county. She is to be married To Hold Election St. Catherine's Guild of St. Mark's Episcopal church will meet Monday, December 14, at 8 p.m. at the parish house. Officers will be elected and bazaar items not sold at the recent event will be offered for sale at that time. Ronald W. Harrison, son of Mr. and Mrs. William O. Harrison, 3360 Lone Pine road. The Rev. John Ilg officiated at the nuptial mass, which was celebrated at 10 o'clock the morning - of November 28. Bouquets of red and white carnations decorated the altar. Bruno "Pellegrini was at the organ. The bride, escorted to the altar by her father, wore a gown of lace over bridal satin, which she designed and the bridegroom's mother made. It was of ballerina length, styled with finger tip length lace sleeves and a neck line trimmed in pearls. She carried a white orchid and streamers of white carnations, atop a white missal, and with a mother of pearl rosary. The maid of honor was Miss Wanda Cossey, who wore a gown of .red brocade satin Betrothal News Announced Here - Mr. and Mrs..Z. H. Lane, Cleveland, Ohio, announce the engagement of then daughter, Lola Ann, to Ger ald G. Johnson, Madras, Ore. Mr. Johnson is the son of Mrs. Violette M. Johnson, 611 Sherman street, Medford and Garth Johnson, Portland. , The couple attended Wil 1 a m e 1 1 e University where both graduated in the field of music in 1958. Miss Lane was affiliated with Chi Ome ga sorority and Mr. Johnson with Phi Delta Theta fratern ity. Miss Lane is employed as a secretary in Cleveland and Mr. Johnson is director of music in the Madras Junior and Senior High schools. . A summer wedding ' is planned. with red chiffon train which she had designed, and which Mrs. Harrison made. Her bou quet was of white carnations. Gilbert Harrison was best man for his brother. Ushers were William Morse, Central Point, and John Shama. Mr. and Mrs. Clyde Ramsey, uncle and aunt of the bride, were hosts at a reception which followed at their home at 130 Highland drive. Forty guests attended. . Mrs. Harold Mercer made the wedding cake, which was decorated in pale blue and white, using the reception colors or red, white and blue. Mrs. Dennis Burns attended the bride's book. Mrs. Ken neth Clemmens poured coffee and Mrs. Betty Walter poured punch. Miss Sue Blake and Miss Pat Christine served cake. The young couple traveled to San Diego,' Calif., where the bridegroom is station for 18 weeks' training. For travel ing the bride wore a pleated jersey dress of avocado green with matching accessories. She attended Crater high school and was graduated from Willits, Calif., high school. She resided at Girls Community club. The bridegroom, who was student body president of Crater high school in 1957, at tended' Southern Oregon col lege and Willamette univer sity before entering the Ma rine corps. He is a radio operator. Christ mas music and a gift exchange are planned. The group held its first an nual Christmas dinner dance December 5, at the Tally Ho Dining Room. Sundjy, Dec. 13, 1959 Headdress Winners Announced Mrs. William Patton was awarded the grand prize in the headdress competition held as a part of the annual Christmas Charity Ball of Medford Junior Service league. The ball took place Friday night at Rogue Valley Country club with Mrs. Floyd Hart Jr., as chairman. Mrs. Patton, gowned in black, wore a brass wire hold er filled with fresh pink car nations and ferns on her head. First place winner for league members was Mrs. William Cowning. Her headdress was a farm scene edged with cran berries and showing a farmer figurine with pistol aimed at head. A small sign read "Cranberry Merchant." Runners - up were Mrs. James Richeson wearing a tall headdress of Christmas foil and glitter and Mrs. R. Ren Taylor whose headdress was entitled "Pennies from Heav en." It was a pink angel hair halo which matched her pink gown; golden pennies dangl ed from the halo. Another winner was Mrs. Loren Sawyer who wore a doll on her head. The doll's gown of blue was similar to that worn by Mrs. Sawyer, and she had made both gowns. Last of the winners was Mrs. Rodger Sterton who wore a miniature chimney out of which emerged a little' Santa Claus.
