Posf Matrons Plan Christmas Party Past Matrons of Reams chapter. Order of Eastern Star, will hold, their annual Christmas party -and. gift ex change at 8 p.m. Monday, December 7. at the home of Mrs. John Esp, 889 Olympic avenue. Members also are asked to t a k e a child's gift, which should be wrapped for Christ mas and marked for boy or girl. The gifts will be distri buted by the Lady Lions. Assisting Mrs. Esp will be Mrs. Jack Caldwell, Mrs. Morris Boughner, Mrs. Eva Mae White and Mrs. Elton Waldron. Student Named Director of Play , Portland - James Hays of Central Point has been named director of Thornton Wilder's "Happy Journey from Tren ton to Camden,'' one of three one-act plays being presented in the first public perform ance by the Reed college Theater Workshop. The Theater Workshop is a newly-organized group of stu dents. They will produce, di rect, and act in dramatic pre sentations by the Portland college. Young Hays, son of Mr. and Mrs. J. F. Hays, Sr., 263 North Fifth street, Cen tral Point, graduated from 6rater High School last June. Reese Creek Women Study Bow Making Mrs. Donald Clark and Mrs. Kenneth W. Shaw showed how to make ribbon bows for packages and other decora tions at the recent meeting of the Reese Creek Home Exten sion unit. The women also explained what kind of ribbon to buy for bow-making as all types are not suitable. Also demon strated was the using of can dy as flowers for package decoration. Christmas exchange was of favorite cookie, candy and Swedish sweet bread recipes. The unit will make a Christ mas food basket for some fam ily in the area. C Sunday, Dec 6, 1959 A" Mrs. Arnold Bohnert will be installed president of the Women's Association of First Presbyterian church at their annual Christmas meeting Tuesday, December 8, at the church. Other officers to be in stalled will be Mrs. Sam B. Harbison, first vice presi dent; Mrs. George Flanagan, second vice president; Mrs. Walter F. Roemer, secre tary, and Mrs Wallace Brill, treasurer. , Candlelight circle will be in charge of the luncheon which will be served at 12:30 p.m. in the Fellowship hall. The meeting has been scheduled earlier in the month so it will not conflict with holiday activities later. Mrs. George D. "Osier and Mrs. D. Kirkland West are in charge of the program which will include the installation service for the association officers and circle chairmen. Dr. West will assist with the service. The Rev. G. The bride is a daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Harry LaFever, 785 Head road, and the bride groom's parents are -Mr. and Mrs. George C. Chandler, 2780 Elliott avenue, Medford. The Rev. Bruce Weber offi ciated at the double-ring cere mony which was read at 4 o'clock. Baskets of blue and white chrysanthemums and white candelabra holding ta pers decorated the church. Mrs.' Gordon Mekvold, pian ist, played traditional wed ding music The bride wore a white ny lon and lace gown. Her shoulder-length veil was held by a band of white orange blossoms and she carried white roses on a white Bible. Mr. LaFever gave his daugh ter in marriage. Miss Marlene Chandler, sis ter of the bridegroom, was the bridesmaid. She wore a dress of blue chiffon over taffeta and carried a nosegay of pink and white carnations. Seating guests were David LaFever, brother of the bride, and Daryl Chris tianson, cousin of the bride groom. For her daughter's wedding and the following reception, Mrs. LaFever wore a grey blue tweed suit-dress. Mrs. Chandler wore a medium blue wool knit suit-dress. Their corsages were of pink rose buds. Mrs. John Robison served the-wedding cake at the recep tion, which was held in the church parlors. Mrs. Larry LaFever, sister-in-law of the bride, poured punch and Mrs. Marvin Spradling poured cof fee. Mrs. Dewey Tipton was in charge of the guest book, which was a gift to the bride from the bridegroom. The newlyweds traveled to northern California on their wedding trip, the bride wear ing for travel a pale blue cor duroy suit-dress. It was trim med with gray agate buttons, given to her by her paternal grandfather. The young couple reside in Central Point, where the bride is a senior ' at Crater high school. The bridegroom- at tended Crater high school and is employed by Timber Products. Among out-of-town guests at the wedding were Mr. and Mrs. Elmer Law, Mr. and Mrs. Ralph Thuma and Mrs. D. M.
