Varied Programs Planned By Seven Extension Units December is an "open meet ing" month for all Jackson County Home Extension units. No project lesson has been prepared for the entire county by the home demonstration aeent. as each unit chooses anl gives its own December lesson. Christmas crafts and deco rations are always a popular choice for December lessons. Some units have a study of a foreign country; sometimes an interesting lesson given in the nast is presented aeain for the benefit of new members. Most of the units have a Christmas party and gift ex change at the December meet- Wilson Park unit meets Tues- mg. Many of the units pack a box of foods and toys to give to a family. Reese Creek Mrs. Donald Clark and Mrs. Joe Mathieson will give a demonstration on gift wrap ping at a meeting of Reese Creek unit beginning at 10:30 ajn. Monday, Dec. 1. Gifts for exchange are to be made from favorite recipes. Child care will be provided. Wilson Park A demonstration on Christ mas gift wrapping will be giv en by Mrs. Ronald Harding and Mrs. Gary Pree when day, December 1, at 8 p.m. at the Harding residence, 1309 Stewart avenue. Each woman is to bring her favorite Christmas "recipe and a "sample product" for. ex change. Women interested in attending the meeting may call Mrs. David Shaffer, SPring 3-4274. Medford Parents How to make unusual Christmas decorations and at tractive gift wrappings will be demonstrated by Mrs. Otto A. Ewaldsen and Mrs. Edgar H. Sims for Medford Parents unit at 7:30 p.m. Tuesday, De cember 1. Women will meet at the home of Mrs. Lyle Heide mann, 1806 Thomas' road. Members will exchange gifts of homemade articles fol lowing the demonstration. Dessert will be served by the hostesses, Mesdames Stanley O. Forbes, Robert D. Hostet ter, Carl Hueners and Fred Smets. Agate Unit Agate unit will meet at 10 a.m. Wednesday, December 2, at the home of Mrs. E. T. Gar rison, Ponderosa street, for a demonstration of candy mak ing by Mrs. Paul Doe, Griffin Creek. She will demonstrate hand dipping of chocolates, as well i other kinds of candy. An auction is to be held at the morning business meeting and members are reminded to bring articles for the sale. . Lake Creek A lesson 6n hobbies is planned by Lake Creek unit when it meets at 10:30 ajn. Wednesday, December 2, at the Lake Creek Grange hall. All types of work which members are interested in are to be brought to the meeting. Members have shown interest in tin craft, with groups meet ing at various homes. A Christmas exchange of gifts not costing over $1 will be held. Holiday food will be on the menu. Upca legate TDnoer ,Arpiff;tp unit svin have a cake decorating dem onstration by Mrs. Harry Da vis, Gold Hill, at the Christ mas meeting Wednesday, De cember 2, at the Grange hall. For the demonstration mem bers are asked to bring cake pan, scissors, knife, cloth for wiping hands, and small bot tles with glass stopper if pos sible. Members also are to bring an article, preferably handmade, for a silent auc tion, and a gift wrapped and tagged' as to contents for the state mental hospital. A small donation to UNICEF fund is planned. . Clothing packages for the needy of the commu nity will be accepted. Each person is to bring her own table service for the Christinas dinner Child fare will be provided. All women interested will be welcome. Griffin Creek Griffin Creek Home unit will meet Friday, December 4, at 11 a.m. at the Griffin Creek" Grange hall, where Christmas Party Planned for Club The Getogether club will hold a Christmas party with an exchange of gifts Friday, December 4, at the Girls Com munity club. The club will furnish ham, rolls, and coffee for dinner with members taking a cov ered dish or dessert.
