Stinson, Lebanon, Ore., became the bride of Carl Louis Michael, son of Mr. and Mrs. Cecil Michael, 948 South Ivy street, in a ceremony No vember 14 at Sacred Heart Catholic church. The Rev. William McLeod officiated at the 10 o'clock morning wedding attended by 50 relatives and friends. The double ring rites were held on the birthday of the bride groom's maternal grandfather. t Miss Mary Robinson played . the organ wedding music. White chrysanthemums dec orated the church. , The bride w6re a white taf feta brocade dress in ballerina length and a fingertip length veil. Her pearls were a gift of the bridegroom and she car ried a white orchid on a white prayer book. Clifford Voight escorted his niece to the al tar. -Miss Virginia Michael, sis ter of the bridegroom, was maid of honor, and brides maids were Miss Jane Stinson and Miss Gail Voight, sister and cousin of the bride. They wore blue, pale green and rose pink taffeta frocks and car ried cascade bouquets of white chrysanthemums. ' Bob Morrison served as best man. Alden Yates and Bob Rojas seated the guests. A reception was held at the Michael home following the wedding. Assisting was Miss Ann Darland. The newlywed couple' are making their home "at 1001 West Second street. Dr. George G. Rose berry officiated at the double ring rites attended by nearly 200 relatives and friends. The bride is a daughter of Mr. and Mrs. William C, Riley, 616 Stewart avenue, Mr.' Wisely's parents are Mr. and Mrs. Floyd W. Wisely, 724 West Jackson street. Mrs. Lester Boardman played the organ' wedding music and accompanied May-1 nard Hadley, soloist. Baskets of bronze and yellow chrys anthemums and white candles decorated the church. The bride wore a white lace over satin gown. The scoop neck was edged with lace flowers and pearls and her fingertip length veil wa3 held by a pearl crown. Her pearl drop necklace was a gift of the bridegroom and she car ried a white orchid and steph anotis on a white Bible. Mr. Riley gave his daughter in marriage. Miss Patricia . Leek was honor attendant and brides maids and matron, were Miss Colleen Riley, a sister, Miss Glenna Brewold, and Mrs. David Wisely. -They wore frocks of emerald green ny lon organza over taffeta with matching leaf hats and ac cessories. They each carried a large chrysanthemum, on a green satin purse, gifts of the bride. '- Little Debra Gifford was flower girl. Her frock was also emerald green taffeta with eyelet organdy pinafore and she carried a bronze and gold nosegay. Kathleen and Michael Riley, sister and brother of the bride, lighted the candles. Kathleen's dress was emerald green tafetta and her wristlet was of bronze and gold chrysanthemums. David Wisely served as best man for his brother. Seating the guests were Donald Mc Lean, Portland; Richard Puhl, and John Payne. Their corsages were yellow rosebuds. The reception was held at the Herbert L. Roberts resi dence at 1006 South Oakdale avenue. Mrs. Howard Miller cut and served the wedding cake and Mrs. William Gif ford presided at the punch bowl. Mrs. Byron Fish, Eu gene, poured the coffee and Mrs. Bilbee Lane was in charge of the guest book. The newlywed couple trav eled to San Francisco on their wedding trip. For traveling the bride wore a rose beige jersey dress and coat with dark brown accessories. They are making their home at 641 J street. The bride attended Medford High school and is a student' at Southern Oregon college. Mr. Wisely attended Medford High school ' and Southern Oregon college and is employed by Colyear Mo tor Sales company here. The annual Christmas Ves pers will be held at the col lege under the direction of Oscar C. Bjorli Sunday, De cember 6. Presented at Britt Student Center ballroom at 3:30 p.m., the vespers will be immediately followed by the lighting of the Wayne Wells Christmas tree, named in hon or of Wayne W. Wells, profes sor emeritus of the SOC sci ence and mathematics depart ment. The choir, women's sextet, the mixed ensemble, and the male quartet will present spe cial numbers ' and arrange ments. Soloists have been selected for the presentation of Han del's "Messiah," which will take place at 3 p.m. on Sun day, December 13, in the Southern Oregon college gym nasium. Sponsoring the event are members of the "Messiah" chorus, made up of Rogue val ley residents and college stu dents, and the Southern Ore gon Little Symphony orches tra. Hasten League Christmas Ball v Planned For December 11 As memories of Thanksgiv ing feasts fade, thoughts and activities are turned towards Christmas and the gay holi day season. One of the major social events each year is the Junior Service league Char ity ball, which will be held this year on Friday, December 11, at the Rogue Valley Coun try Club. Invitations are now being sent by League mem bers, who emphasize that the proceeds from the charity ball go to support the League's kindergarten for hard-of-hear-ing children, as do the pro ceeds from all League projects throughout the year. Women guests will -.gain test their ingenuity and skill in designing headdresses, which will be judged during the evening, with the wearer of the winning creation an nounced as "Queen of the Ball".
