The win was the 20th of the year for the 39-year-old righthander who has won a total of 269 bid league games and ranks 16th on the all-time list. The second-place Cleveland Indians downed the Washing ton Senators, 7-2, but even so are rapidly losing all but a methematical chance to win the pennant.
