Celeste Huffman, Vincent Hutchison. Tell Wedding Plans Eagle Point - Mr. and Mrs. C. E. Kimmel, South B street, announce the engagement and approaching marriage of their daughter, Celeste Huffman, to Vincent A. Hutchison, son of Mr. and Mrs. Charles Hutchi son, Hillsboro. Miss Huffman was graduat ed from the Eagle Point High schol in 1959 and has been an active, member of the Job's Daughters. She has lived in Eagle Point the majority of her life. Mr. Hutchison was graduat ed from the Hillsboro High school in 1957 and attended the Portland State college. He is employed by the federal government as a surveyor. Cavin the evening of Friday, July 31, at the . Butte Falls Com munity Bible church. The bride, daughter of Mr. and MrsDale McAlister, Den ver, Colo., has made her home with her uncle and aunt, the Rev. and Mrs. Howard Sim- monds, Butte Falls. Performing the wedding service was the Rev. Joseph Munshaw, minister of the Community Bible church of Eagle Point. Mr. Simmonds, pastor of the Butte Falls church, gave his niece in marriage. She wore a dress of white satin and lace. Miss Robin Lee Simmonds, cousin of the bride, was her maid of honor, and wore a blue gown. Debra Kay Mc Alister, sister of the bride, was flower girl, and Jimmy Berton was ring bearer. Gorden Wayne Conley was best man. Seating the guests were James McKeen, Eagle Point, and James LeRoy Irwin. The Rev. and Mrs. Sim monds were hosts for the re ception which followed. Mrs. Irvin McKeen made the wed ding cake. Both the bride and bride groom attended Butte Falls High school. Lampert, 2933 Merriman road, became the bride of Jack James Magel, Portland, in a ceremony at Friends church Saturday, August 8. : The date was the wedding anniversary of the bride groom's parents, Mr. and Mrs. Jack Magel, Gervais. Clynton G. Crisman, pas tor, performed the service before 100 guests at 8 o'clock in the evening. Mrs. Dan Magel, Portland, sister-in-law of the bride groom, was matron of honor, and Miss Deana Brown was bridesmaid. The bride's white gown was styled with lace bodice and sleeves and a skirt of crystallette over taffeta with lace and net ruffles forming a back panel and train. Her flowers were yellow spider chrysanthemums. Her father gave her in marriage. Her attendants wore yel low gowns with lace bodices and pleated silk skirts. They carried white spider chrysan themums. - Little Jackie Barnes was flower girl. Dan Magel was best man for his lrother. Byron W. Lambert, Willow Creek, Calif., the bride's brother, and Earl Phillips, Portland, were ushers. Don Hess, Portland, was groomsman. - Organist was Mrs. Crisman and Duane Jones sang. Eighty guests attended the reception which followed the wedding. Mrs. Robert Myers was in charge. Serving the cake were Mrs. Frank Trizil and Mrs. John Sikorski, Port land. Mrs. Earl Phillips, Port land, and Mrs. Warren Han- lin were at the gift table.1 - Pouring were Mrs. Byron Lambert, Willow Creek, and Mrs. Floyd Magel. For traveling following the wedding the bride wore a pink sheath frock and white coat. The bride was graduated from Medford High school and has been employed by the United States National bank, Medford branch. The bridegroom attended Port land schools and is employed by David R. Lesher, mason contractor. They will reside in Port land. Guests coming from out-of-town for the wedding included Mr. and Mrs. Jack Magel, the bridegroom's parents, Ger vais; Mr. and Mrs. Walter White, Glendale, and Mr. and Mrs. Earl Phillips, and Miss Judy Boltzell, Portland. Witnessing is Program Topic Mrs. Gerald Johnson led Peterson circle in presenting the program' for the Christian Women's Fellowship, First Christian church. It was presented in the form of a television interview of four costumed foreign women who were visiting in American homes. They were talking with their hostesses about the American way of life, and clearly pointed out we are wit nessing either for or against Christ in all of our daily ac tivities. . . . "What kind of Christian witness, do we make to oth ers?" was the main theme of the program. Mrs. W. I. House led the devotional part of the meeting. ' Luncheon was served by the Shoemaker circle with Mrs. R. E. Randies and Mrs. Wil liam Roberts as co-chairmen. The CWF executive meeting will be August 18 at 1 p jn. Ireland circle will meet Au gust 20, 8 pjn. with Mrs. Wil liam Preston, 1417 South Ivy street. Any member of the church is invited to attend this meeting. Miss Roma Jean Shafer November Rites Planned by Pair Prospect-Mr. and Mrs. F. Everett ' Shafer, star route, Prospect, announce the en gagement of their daughter, Roma Jean, to Stephen S Parrish, son of Mr. and Mrs Stanley Parrish, of Old Stage road, Medford. Miss Shafer is a 1959 gradu ate of Prospect High school and at present is employed by the Oregon department of forestry as a fire lookout on Mt. Isabelle. Her fiance, a 1957 graduate of Crater High school, attend ed Oregon State college and is a member of the U.S Coast Guard Reserve. He is now employed by his father in construction work. The wedding will be held November 7, in the Chapel in the Pines, Prospect. f California Family Visits Relatives Mr. and Mrs. Louis Lemire and five children have visited the past 10 days with relatives and friends in the valley. ' The family is moving soon from Chico, Calif., where they have made their home the past several years, to Baker, where Mr. Lemire has been named manager of the General Adjustment Bureau. They are former residents Mrs. Lemire is the former Joan Hoppe, daughter of Mr and Mrs. E. R. He is presently em ployed in Brookings, and will attend Oregon State college in the fall. Miss Brown is a graduate of the Brigham Young uni versity where she was af filiated with Phi Kappa Phi sorority. Miss Judith Ross Republican Group To Meet Monday Jackson County Republican Women's club will meet Mon day, August 17,vat 12 noon at the Red Cross building for a sack lunch. There will be cof fee and dessert available, and a baby sitter for the children. Mrs. John Lynch will be in charge of the program which will , consist of a round table discussion on the Republican Creed. All interested persons are invited to attend. Mem bers have been asked to take with them donations for the rummage sale which will be held September 9 and 10, or they may call Mrs. Frank Bash for pickup. 'Get Acquainted7 Party Set To Form Central Point Club Central Point Plans for possible ; formation of a 50 Plus club for Central Point and vicinity will be made at an informal "get acquainted" party Monday, August 17, from 1 to 4 p.m. at the Cen tral Point American Legion hall. Medford and Camp White clubs will furnish refresh ments and the Central Point Garden club, with Mrs. Wal lace West as chairman, will arrange flowers. Mrs. Grace Bruce, Gold Hill, will play the piano and Mrs. Maud Arnold, Medford, will lead community singing and play for singing and dancing.
