Mr. and Mrs. Warren W. Deakins Jr.' (Coleman photo) Deakins - Reynolds Rites Held in California Church Mr. and Mrs. Warren W. Deakins Jr., whose wedding was an event of June 21 in Sacramento, Calif., are mak ing their home in that city, The bride is the former Nancy Reynolds, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. M. W. Reynolds, Sacra mento, and the bridegroom's parents are Mr. and Mrs. War ren W. Deakins, 2008 Wester lund drive, Medford. The wedding rites took place at St. Philomenes Cath olic church at 3:30 o'clock in the afternoon, with 150 guests attending. The Rev. John Lynch officiated, and Mr. Reynolds escorted his daugh ter to the altar. For her wedding the bride wore a gown of embroidered organdy over taffeta with Sabrina neckline, short sleeves and a taffeta cummer bund which tied in a large butterfly bow in the back. She carried white orchids and stephanotis on a satin prayer book. r- Miss Rowena Smart, Sacra mento, was honor attendant and bridesmaids were two Gamma Phi Beta sorority sis ters, Miss Nancy Hamilton, Medford, and Miss Marilyn Poston, San Francisco. Their frocks were of white lace over Blue taffeta, made - sheath fashion, and they carried blue carnations with ivy. Larry Copple, Medford, was best man for Mr. Deakins and ushers were Booth and Tom Deakins, brothers of the bridegroom, and Walter Gar ner, Medford, and Larry Rey nolds, brother of the bride. The reception for 150 guests was held in the home of the bride's parents. ' The bride's mother wore a gown of champagne lace with corsage of brown and green orchids. The bridegroom's mother was attired in blue lace and her corsage was a white orchid. Among the wedding guests were Mr. and Mrs. Robert Voegtly, - Miss Lou E 1 s a Voegtly and Carl; Mr. and Mrs. Paul Bauer, Donald Peek and Jerry Anderson, all Medford, and Mr. and Mrs, Wade Stuart, formerly of Medford and now of Sacra mento. The bride is a graduate of 1 Camino High school, Sac ramento, and the University of Oregon, where she was a member of Gamma Phi Beta sorority and Mortar Board, honor society for senior wom en. Her husband is a gradu ate of Medford High school and Oregon State college. At graduation he was commis sioned a second lieutenant in the United States Air Force reserve and is awaiting orders. Bishop Officiates For Rites Miss. Kathleen Pugmire, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. D. B. Pugmire, 2410 Table Rock road, became the bride of Jim Allen Waldron, son of Mr. and Mrs. Fleet Waldron, Eagle Point, in a home cere mony held recently at the Pugmire residence. Bishop Dwaine E. Nelson of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints officiated at the two o'clock afternoon ceremony held June 20 and at tended by 35 relatives and friends. Roses and summer flowers decorated the fireplace for the wedding. Given in marriage by her father, the bride wore a white lace over satin frock and car ried white carnations and pink roses. Miss Connie Pugmire at tended her sister. She wore a white frock with red sash and carried white and light pink carnations. Fred Faytinger served as best man. Denney Pugmire, brother of the bride, and Rod Cameron, ushered. Following the ceremony a reception was held. The couple traveled to the California coast on their wed ding trip. The bride is a grad uate of Medford High school. Mr. Waldron attended Phoe nix High school and is em ployed by Waldron and Sons Lumber company. Among jthe out-of-town guests were Mr. and Mrs. J. D. Waldron, uncle and aunt of the bridegroom, and Mrs. Clara Waldron, grandmother of the bridegroom, all of Prineville. Children's Art Displayed Today "Small World," an exhibit of . children's paintings, will end today at Eugene Bennett studio, 329 South Grape st. The studio will be open, this afternoon from 2 until 5 o'clock. More than 60 pieces includ ing drawings, watercolors gouaches (opaque watercol ors), pastels, prints and mono- prints, are included in the exhibit. . The exhibit Is open to the public. Medford Couple Plays in Tourney Mr. and Mrs. Paul Hatton have returned to their home, 819 Minnesota avenue, after a vacation in Helena and Bill ings, .Mont. ' While away the two played in the Northern Rocky Mountains regional bridge tournament at Great Falls, taking third place in one event and fourth place in another. Parties Honor Sally Lane; Rites Saturday Pre-nuptial showers honor ing Miss Sally Lane, daughter of Mrs. James Luman, 706 Whitman place, were held the past week.- Miss Lane's wedding to Gerald Grosclaude, son of Mr. and Mrs. Russell Grosclaude, Ashland, was scheduled for July 25 in Reno, Nev. Former classmates of the bride-to-be gave a shower Monday, July 20, at the home of Miss Maxine Crowson, 76 Dewey street, Ashland. A blue and white color scheme was used in decora tions for the outdoor affair. . Prizes at games went to Miss Beverly Johnson, Miss Jane Yaple, Miss Carol Hunt stein and Miss Judy Morris. Other guests were the Miss es Kay and Fay Babcock, Ruth Wyant, Anna Carter, Nancy Lininger, Pat Rodch, Karen Thomas and Judy Al ley and the Mesdames Rob ert Brewer, James Witt, Rich ard Green, Max Crowson and Mrs. Luman. Fifteen guests attended a miscellaneous shower honor ing Miss. Lane Tuesday at the home of her mother. Pink and white decorations were used and a wedding cake topped by a miniature bride and bridegroom was served. Invited were the Mesdames Anthony Kanclier, A. W Thompson, Luke Heinzman, Russell Grosclaude, Glenn Svaren, W. D. Jackson, Edgar Fowler, Richard Green and Miss Camille Thompson, all of Ashland; and Mrs. Harold Welburn, Mrs. Harold Suther land, Mrs. Russell Fowler and Miss Claudia Fowler. Party Honors Miss Stafford; Wedding Soon Mrs. William M. Caldwell recentlv was hostess for party which honored Miss Shirlev. Stafford. Miss Btai- ford's wedding to Allan Leigh Budd of San Marino, Calii., is set for August 8 at St, Mark's EDiscoDal church. Mrs. Caldwell invited guests to her. home, 2968 Jackson ville highway, for an evening event. Dessert was served on the terrace, and Miss Stafford was showered with gifts for her new home. Seventeen euests attended. Miss Stafford, a daughter of Col. and Mrs. unaries Stafford. 1914 Westerlund drive, is to be honored at oth er events before the day of the wedding. Miss Reich stein To Arrive Home; Showers Given Miss Suzanne Reichstein will arrive in Medford Tues day from Portland v and will be at the home of her par ents. Mr. and Mrs. W. H. Reichstein. 7 Glen Oak court. Miss Reichstein's wedding to Alan Louis Keaton -of Junc tion City. Ore., has been set for August 9 at St. Mark's Episcopal church. Mrs. Reichstein was in Portland recently to spend several days with her daugh ter, and during that time at tended three parties given for the bride-elect. One Darty was given by Miss Diane Phillips at the home of her parents, Mr. and Mrs. Harold M. Phillips, with Alpha Phi sorority sisters as guests. The event was a patio Dartv. and Miss Reichstein was presented a shower of gifts for her new home. Fif teen attended. Members of the bride-elect's nursinz class at the- Univer sity of Oregon School of Nurs ing gave a linen shower for Miss Reichstein. It was held at the home of Mr. and Mrs. George Moen, Gresham, with Miss Marilyn Moen as hostess. Twenty guests attended. Mrs. Michael McDonald of Portland gave a recipe shower for Miss Reichstein, and also honored at the same time an other nurse who is to be mar ried soon. Other narties are being planned here for the bride- elect. Tonneys Here From Portland Recent houseguests of Mr. and Mrs. L. R. Gates, 106 Wil lamette avenue, were Mr. and Mrs. Robert Tonney and son, Dennis, of Portland. Mr. Ton ney, who is assistant traffic manager in Portland for Union Pacific, was transferred from the Medford office ap proximately 9 months ago. The Tonneys were in Med ford to attend the recent wedding of Miss Phyllis Brownlee and Richard Wager. Earlier ' this month the Gates, their son, Robert, and friend, Ken Brookman, traveled to Seattle, Wash., where they visited Mr. Gates' parents, Mr. and Mrs. M. E. Gates. En route south they stopped in Portland where they visited the Tonneys and the two parties drove to Med Mr. and Mr. James La' Roy Heath (Brainerd photo) Heath- Or gain Ceremony Held in Nazarene Church Miss Evelyn Loretta Orgain became the bride of James Le Roy Heath in a double ring ceremony held Saturday eve ning, July 11, at Medford First Church of the Nazarene The Rev. Raymond W. Hum, pastor of the church, offici ated at the eight o'clock cere mony, attended , by 150 rela tives and friends of the cou ple. ' The bride is the daughter of Mrs. S. L. Forbes, 40 North Peach street, Medford, and D. M. Orgain, Prospect. The bridegroom is the son of Mr. and Mrs. Roy H. Heath, 2415 Barnett Road, Medford. Baskets of white gladiolous and ferns decorated the church with white bows at the pew ends. Miss Ellen Kay McUne played the traditional wed ding music and Miss Sylvia Yell was soloist. Given in marriage by her father, the bride wore a gown of white lace over taffeta fashioned on princess lines, with full length sleeves and a chapel length train. Her finger- tip veil was held by a seed pearl crown. She carried white carnations and orchids, Miss Mary Ann Hubbard Prospect, was maid of honor She wore a taffeta sheath of aquamarine with white hat and formal length gloves Her bouquet was white and aquamarine carnations. Miss Celeste Burrill, Pros peqt, and Miss Patricia Han son, Medford were bride- maids. They wore pink taffeta sheaths with white hats and formal length gloves. They carried white and pink carna tions. Miss Terri Haggard, Phoe nix cousin of the bridegroom, was flower girl. She wore a white dress and carried a basket of pink rose petals. Kevin Burrill, Prospect, was ring bearer. Miss Lydia Orgain, sister of the bride and Dee Forbes, Medford lighted the candles. Lester Schleigh, Phoenix served as best man. Carl Or gain, brother of the bride, Dennis James, Don Wallace, and Dale Haggard seated the guests. A reception was held in the church annex, with 100 peo ple attending. A fifty year anniver sary candle was the center piece on the gift table. Miss Jewell Forbes was in charge of the guest book, Miss Janet Bohl and Miss Sandra Burrill took charge of the gifts. Miss Helen Jantzer cut and served the wedding cake which was baked and decorat ed by the bridegroom's aunt and uncle, Mr. and Mrs. Har old Ellis, Medford. Miss Janet Bean, Prospect poured punch. For her daughter's wedding Mrs. Forbes wore a coral dress with white accessories. The bridegroom's mother wore a white dress with red acces sories. The couple traveled to San Francisco for their honeymoon and are now making their home at . 1315 Locust street, Medford. For traveling the bride wore a pink sheath dress with white accessories. Her pearl neck lace was a gift of the bride groom. The bride is a graduate of Prospect High school with the class of 1959. The bridegroom is a graduate of Phoenix High school and attended Shasta Junior college, Redding, Calif, last year. He will attend Southern Oregon college this fall. He is employed by Elk Lumber company. Out of town guests for the wedding were Carl R. Orgain, brother of the bride, U. S. Na vy, Little Creek, W. V.; Frank A. Lowe, Long Beach, Calif., Mr. and Mrs. Le Roy Orgain and daughters, cousins of the bride, Redmond, Ore., Mrs. F. M. Denton, Ashland; Mr. and Mrs. James Pixler and son, cousin of the bridegroom, Yreka, Calif., and Mr. and Mrs. R. H. Heath, grandpar ents of the bridegroom, Eu gene, Ore. Prior to her wedding the bride was honored at two pre nuptial parties.
