A Sunday July 26, 1959 Miss Kays Christian (Brainerd photo) Betrothal News Announced Here Mr. and Mrs. Everett Chris tian, 340 Mae street, announce the engagement of their daughter, Kaye, to Lynn Riet man, son of Dr. and Mrs. Max Rietman, Eugene. Miss Christian, who was graduated from Medford high school' in 1956, attended the Southern Oregon college. She is employed by the J. C. Pen ney company. Her fiance is a student at SOC and is presently employ ed at Herndobler's Furniture store in Ashland. Their wedding is set for December 29 at the First Pres byterian church. Suzanne Palm To Become Bride Of Marvin Marr Eagle Point - Mr. and Mrs. Raymond Palm, Linn road, Eagle Point, announce the engagement of their daughter, Suzanne Leona, to Marvin Richard Marr, son of Mr. and Mrs. . Ernest Marr, Route 2, Box 384, Forest Grove. ' Miss Palm was graduated from Eagle Point high school this year and is now attending Robertson School of Business in Medford. Mr. Marr, a graduate of Banks high school, attended Pacific university the past year and is currently employ ed by Gene's Color shop, For est Grove. The wedding is to take place at the Berean Baptist church in White City November 28. Miss Suzanne Palm Newlyweds Make Home In Medford Mr. and Mrs. Theodore O. Thompson are making their home at 215 North Ivy street in Medford following their wedding June 27 at Church of St. Ann and St. Michael in Myrtle Point. Mr. Thompson is a son of Mr. and Mrs. O T. Thomnson Eugene, and the bride is a daughter of Mrs. Joseph A. Kremmel, Eugene, and the late Mr. Kremmel. The Rev. William A. Dooley. pastor of the church. performed the ceremony and tne weacung party traveled to Eugene for the reception at Laurelwood Country club. The bride, who was escorted by her uncle, Cmdr. Satolli W. Harms, USN retired, wore a gown of imported Swiss eye let re-embroidered orpanriv over white taffeta. The skirt was styled with five tiers of ruffles which met in back fullness to form a train. Her three-tiered illusion veil was caught by a crown of tiny seed pearls and French waxed pearls matching the aress emDroiaery. She carried a nosegay of Elfe roses, ateiv hanotis and net centered by a wnite orchid. Mrs. Paul Greig, Coquille, her attendant, wore a gown of silk organza in water-Nile shade. It was styled with a scoop neckline and a princess waistline with semi-apron front and bustle back. George Thompson, Hono lulu. Hawaii, was best man Woman Observes 90th Birthday Mrs. Alberta Hoover, who has lived in Jackson county since 1925, celebrated her 90th birthday anniversary Ju ly 24. Mrs. Hoover is a pa tient at the Jackson County Farm Home. Mrs. Hoover was born in La Grange, Ind. In spite of her age Mrs. Hoover is interested in the events of each day and is able to do considerable reading, her family reports. She has two sons, Earl Hoov er of Central Point and Frank Hoover, who owns a ranch in the Wimer district and teaches during the school year at Hoopa, Calif. She has one grandson, Robert Hoover, of San Jose, Calif. : Phoenix Couples Visit Centennial Phoenix-Mr. and Mrs. Osa Waggoner, Phoenix, and Mr. and Mrs. C. E. Ramsey, Cole man Creek road, returned to the valley recently after visit ing the Oregon Centennial Ex position in Portland. The two couples also drove to Ocean Park, Wash., and down the coast to Eureka before returning home. for his brother and ushers were Michael Thompson, Eu gene, and James Downing, Portland. The newly-weds traveled to Lake Tahoe for their wedding trip. , Mr. Thompson is on the ad vertising staff of radio station KMED. yi!i-juiII Mr. and Mrs. Malcolm H. Clement Jr. Malcolm Clements Live In San Francisco Home Mr. and Mrs. Malcolm H. Clement Jr. are making their home in San Francisco fol lowing their wedding July 4 at Sacred Heart Catholic church. The Rev. William Mo Leod officiated at the nuptial mass held at 11 o'clock in the morning and attended by 70 relatives and friends. The bride is the former Lillian Lewis, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. John Lewis, 714 Pennsylvania avenue. Mr. Clement is a son of Mr. and Mrs. Malcolm Clement, Bea verton, Ore. Pink and white gladiolus decorated the altar and church for the ceremony. Organist was Bruno Pellegrini. The bride wore a white lace ballerina length gown fash ioned with fitted bodice and fulL skirt with ruffles down the back of the skirt. Her short veil was held by a rhinestone and pearl head dress. She carried a bojuquet of rosebuds encircling an orchid. Mr. Lewis escorted his daughter to the altar. Miss Diana Bowlin served as maid of honor and brides maids were Miss Jean John son and Miss Jan Myhre. They wore taffeta frocks of tur quoise color with matching headdresses. Miss Bowlin's flowers were yellow gladiolus and the bridesmaids carried pink gladiolus. Little Diane Hurchalla, Fon tana, Calif., cousiri of the bride, was flower girl. Robert Clement, Beaverton, served as best man for his brother and Terry Clegg, Port land, and Larry Lewis, broth er of the bride, seated the guests. Clyde Norrls, Central Point, was ring bearer. For her daughter's wedding Mrs. Lewis wore a blue nylon lace sheath dress over match ing satin with matching hat and purse. Mrs. .Clement chose a beige colored lace dress with white accessories. Their corsages were of white orchids. Following the wedding a buffet luncheon was held at the Lewis home. Mrs. John Luciani, Fontana, aunt of the bride, cut and served the wed ding cake and Mrs. Jack Lewis, Portland, sister-in-law of the bride, and Mrs. Ray mond Robertson, Eagle Point, presided at the punch bowls. Miss Florence Robertson, Cen tral Point, was in charge of the guest book. Assisting with the luncheon were Mrs. R. E, Dick, and Mrs. Joe George. The couple traveled to San Francisco after the reception, the bride wearing for travel ing a black and white polka dot nylon dress. The bride is a graduate of Medford High school and Medford Home Rites Wed Couple In Ashland Ashland Miss Joyce Ma rie Kerr became the bride of Tomas James Ramoss Jr., in a double-ring wedding cere mony July 16 at the home of Capt. and Mrs. D. H. Wilson, 160 Nob Hill, parents of the bridegroom. The bride's par ents are Mr. and Mrs. W, E. Kerr, 655 Tolman Creek road. The Rev. Fred Plocher of the First Congregational church officiated at the 8 o'clock evening ceremony at tended by 15 relatives and friends. The bride vwore a white nylon frock in waltz length fashioned with bouffant skirt and her fingertip length veil was held by a crown of pearls and orange blossoms. She car ried a bouquet of white car nations and pink rosebuds. She was given in marriage by her father. Miss Betty Rose Kerr at tended her sister. She wore an aquamarine blue frock and carried pink carnations. Captain Wilson served as best man for his stepson. White gladiolus and stock decorated the home for the wedding. Following the ceremony a reception was held in the Wil son home g iven by Mrs. Fred E. Alexander. The couple traveled to the Ekberg Family Home From Trip Mr. and Mrs. Ivan Ekberg, 455 Lozier lane, and four children, Karen, Sandra, Pa tricia, and. Gary, recently re turned from a two week trip to Alma. Nebr. where their visited Mr. Ekberg's mother. Mrs. Theodore Ekberg. The family drove East via Reno and Salt Lake City where they visited the Mor mon Temple. They returned by driving through Wyoming and Idaho. Oregon coast on their wed ding trip and are making their home at 913 Siskiyou boule vard. The bride is a graduate of Ashland High school and is employed by Sis-Q Confec tionary and Grocery. Mr. Ra moss attended Vista, Calif., High school and is a rancher employed by Henry Knee-bone. 1 school. She was employed as a beautician by Towne Beauty shoppe here. Mr. Clement was graduated from Beaverton High school and was serving an apprenticeship at Perl Fu neral home. A rehearsal dinner was giv en by the bride's parents the evening prior to the wedding at their home.
