Terry Leslie Stimmel r . - (Clatsie photo) Marriage Ceremony Held At Girls Community Club The wedding of Miss Gayle Elaine Wheeler to Terry Les- lie Stimmel was an event of June 21. The bride is a daugh ter of Mrs. Gertrude Wheeler, 3410 South Pacific highway, and John Wheeler, Oakdale drive. The bridegroom, who is in the United States navy, is a of Mr. and Mrs. Merle Stimmel, Davenport, Iowa. ' The Girls Community club was scene for the ceremony which was performed by the Rev. George Roseberry, minis ter of the First Methodist church, at 8 o'clock in the evening. Approximately 200 guests attended. Mr. Wheeler gave his daugh ter in marriage. She wore- a gown of white taffeta with lace trim and her flowers were pink roses centered with a white orchid. Maid-of-honor was Miss Car olyn Wheeler, sister of the bride. Miss Norma Brainerd and Mrs. Daryl Wheeler, sister-in-law of the bride were the other attendants. Miss Wheeler wore a blue dress of sheath design and the brides maid and matron wore pink frocks styled to match. They carried bouquets of pink ros es. Daryl Wheeler was best man and Donald Young and Dale Thompson were ushers. Dianne Fellows, Yreka, Calif., the bride's cousin,' was flower girl and Duane LaVia, Cen tral Point, was ring-bearer. ;: Vocal music was provided 4 MAIL TRIBUNE, Medford, Or. A Sunday, June 28, 1959 Girl Scouts To Attend Roundup Four senior Girl Scouts from the Rogue Valley Coun cil have been chosen to attend the world wide Girl Scout Roundup. The girls are Caro lyn Finch, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Richard Finch, Med- ford. Donna Coonrod, daugh ter of Mr. and Mrs. Don Coonrod, Montague, Calif., Roberta Stephenson, daugh ter of Mr. and Mrs. Dale Stephenson, Grants Pass, and Diane Lewis, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. George L. Lewis, Medford. Roundup will be July 3 to 12 but the girls will leave for Colorado Springs Colo., site i for the Roundup, on June 29. The Roundup is said to be the largest gathering of teen age girls ever held in the United States. F. Sowers, Highway 99 north of Gold Hill. The bride is the former Miss Sharen Darlene Hoag, Sun Valley, Calif., and the wedding was held Sunday, June 14 at the Village Metho dist chur ch,' North Holly wood, Calif. The bridegroom recently returned from Germany, where he was with the Medi cal Corps of the United States Army. He is the son of Mor ris Burlew, Baker, and the late Mrs. Burlew. The Bur lew family resided on Galls Creek road for several years. The bridegroom attended the Gold Hill schools three years, and is a graduate of the Sun Valley High school. Gofz Family Home After Trip South; Attend Celebration Mr. and Mrs.-.Ervin Goltz and three children Pat, Dan and Fredia, have returned to their home at 1532 Stratford avenue,- following a two week vacation trip to Pittsburg, Texas. The family drove to Texas first visiting relatives in Chandler, Ariz., and touring Carlsbad Caverns, Carlsbad, New Mexico. While in Texas they attend ed the fiftieth wedding anni versary of Mrs. Goltz' par ents, Mr. and Mrs. John Shel ton. The family returned to Medford via Mesa Verde Na tional park in Colorado. Wirin (Chateau Photo) Wirin -Anderson Rites Held; Father Officiates Of interest to valley resi dents is the wedding June 13 in ; the Lutheran Church of Our Redeemer, Los Angeles, of Miss Mary Louise Ander son, formerly of Medford and now of Vancouver, Wash., to William B. Wirin, Los An geles. Chaplain H. W. Anderson officiated for his daughter's wedding held at eight o'clock in the evening and attended by 200 relatives and friends. - The bride is a daughter of Chaplain and Mrs. Anderson, Vancouver, Wash. Mr. Wirin's parents are Mrs. Helen Wirin, Alhambra, Calif., and A. L Wirin, Los Angeles. The bride wore a white tulle gown with front lace ap plique and draped bustle ef fect over a lace back skirt panel which terminated in a chapel train. The lace bodice was accented with seed pearls. George Grip, Rockford, 111., gave his niece in marriage. The newlywed couple will make their home at 4851 San Vicente boulevard, number 6, Los Angeles, 19, following their return from a wedding trip to Santa Barbara, Calif. The bride is a graduate of Medford High school, Steph ens college, Columbia, Mo., and the University of Cali fornia at Los Angeles where she was affiliated with Alpha Xi Delta, social sorority and Mu Phi Epsilon, honorary mu sic fraternity. Central Point-Miss Glenda Lea Branch became the bride of Lawrence Lee Wiegele in a candlelight ceremony held June 13 at eight o'clock m the evening in First Church of the Nazarene. The Rev. Walter Morris officiated at the double ring ceremony attend ed by 75 relatives and friends. The bride is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Glen A. Branch, 462 Grand avenue, Central Pomt. Mr. Wiegele s parents are Mr. and Mrs. Melvin Wier, Yuba City, Calif. Given in marriage by her father, the bride wore a waltz length gown of hand clipped Chantilly lace over nylon net and taffeta. Her elbow length veil was held in place by a lace cap trimmed with se quins and pearl hearts. She carried white roses centered with a white .orchid for her bridal bouquet. Miss Patricia Branch was maid of honor for her sister. She wore a yellow brocaded taffeta dress with a wide chiffon sash tied in a butter fly bow at the back. The Misses Fran Watson and Mary Jones served as brides maid. Their dresses were styled as that of the honor attendant, Miss Watson wear ing pink and Miss Jones aqua marine. They wore velvet headbands holding short veils and their flowers were Ester reed daisies. Miss Sylvia Yell was solo ist. She was accompanied on the organ by Miss Ellen Kay i McUne. Baskets of pink and white daisies, peonies and feverfew decorated the altar. White satin bows and pink flowers marked the pew ends. The church was decorated by Mrs. Lester Gordon and Mrs. Charles Jantzer. Gary and Gerald .Branch, brothers of the bride, were candlelighters. Al Beerli was best man and ushers were Bill Callander, Jimmie Dan iels and Larry Branch, broth er of the bride. . For her daughter's wed ding Mrs. Branch chose a beige colored sheath dress with white accessories. Mrs. Wier wore a two piece blue print silk dress with pink and black accessories. Their corsages were pink carna tions. t The reception was held in the church annex. The bride's table was covered with a lace tablecloth which was a wed ding gift to the young cou ple. Pink flowers and can dles also decorated the table. Mrs. Beerli and Mrs. Wil lie Jones cut and served the heart shaped wedding cake baked by the bride's mother. The silver knife used to cut the cake was loaned by the the bride's aunt, Mrs. Ross D. Branch, Seattle, Wash., If 0 ( M( gL. - iXT Mr.' and Mrs. Lawrence Lee Wiegele has been used by several brides in her family. Miss Er lene Obenchain presided at the punch bowl. Mrs. George McUne and Miss Ellen Kay McUne assisted with the re ception. Miss Julia Tomason had charge of guest book and Miss Janet Kilbourn was at the ; gift table assisted by Miss Sherry Koellner. The newlywed couple spent a honeymoon on the Oregon coast. For traveling, the bride wore a pink linen suit with white accessories and the orchid from her bridal bouquet. They will be . at home after July 2 in Ocean side, Calif., where M Wie gele is stationed with . the United States Navy. Prior to the wedding the bride was honored at three showers.
