She carried a nosegay af blue del phinium. Theodore L. Barhes, Rose 1&rg, served as best man for his brother. Following the ceremony a reception was held in the Rogue room at the Medford hotel. The couple traveled to Lake Creek Lodge in the Cascades en their wedding trip. The bride is a graduate of Puna- hou school, Honolulu, and the : University o f Washington. Mr. Barnes is a graduate of Oregon State college where he was affiliated with Sigma Chi social fraternity. He is employed by Georgia-Pacific corporation in log and timber procurement. He made his home in Ol- ympia, Wash, prior to his" re cent transfer by the company to ureka. v " National Officer Yititor in City Mrs. Edward Murphy, Springfield, Mass., president of National Women's Associa tion of Allied Beverage Indus tries, - visited the Medford chapter June 23. Mrs. Murphy was elected at the national convention held in San Diego. Calif., earlier this month. Attending the event from the Rogue val ley were Mrs. Ada Horsely and Mrs. Betti Boyle. " Site of the 1960 national convention will be Minneapo lies, Minn., it was announced. Among the national officers appointed by the new presi dent at the convention was Mrs. Alyce McCroskey, Port- land, who was appointed par liamentarian. Announce Display Of "Psychic Art" A public exhibition of "psy chic art" is being held today and Monday at the Girls Com munity club by Mrs. Grace Glenne. The exhibition may be view ed today from 2 until 5 p.m. and 7:30 until 9:30 p.m. Talks will be given at 3 and 8 p.m. telling the background of the drawings. Monday the exhibit will be displayed from 11 ajn. until 5 pjn. with talks scheduled t 11:15 ajn. and 3 pjn. The. drawings were done by Ellas Jane Graham and is said to represent the art of the ancient Moors, Persians, Chi nese, Egyptians and Aztec pro duced by spirit artists of thous ands of years ago. (Brainerd photo) Pictures Taken By Flanagans To Be Shown Mrs. George Flanagan will take the Arm Chair Travel group on a Volkswagen tour of Germany at 1 p.m. Monday, June 29, at the Senior Activ ity center, 601 East Main street. Colored slides to be shown are of a unique travel plan carried out by Mr. and Mrs. Flanagan and their three sons who visited all the European families with whom they have been corresponding for sev eral years. The exchange of letters be gan with Care packages which the Flanagans sent regularly to the families. One of the recipients accom panied the Flanagans as a guide and interpreter and en tire towns turned out to wel come the American lamiiy who had shown such personal interest in their welfare. Last week Dr. and Mrs. Bert K. Illiott took the group to Canada and Alaska via pic tures. Classes at the center have increased 25 per cent. The pas tel and oil painting class and the wood .carving class have been asked to bring pictures and carvings to the center for the next class meeting for se lection of an exhibit. Items selected are to be tak en by Mrs. Fred Rankin to the state capital for the quarterly meeting of the Oregon Coun cil on Aging, July 11. Fourteen men and women are studying conversational Spanish each Thursday at 9 ajn. under direction of Mi chael Dillon, Camp White. . Edwin Root, orchestra direc tor, who has been ill, has re turned to the orchestra, class which meets at 1 pjn. each Thursday. More wind and string instruments are needed for the group. The ten-piece orchestra gave a surprise performance for a meeting of the 50-plus club Friday. Brown Family Home From Guam Ashland - Mr. and Mrs. Michael Brown and children, Michele and Michael, former ly valley residents, have re turned to southern Oregon for the summer after two years on Guam. , After a ' brief vacation in Mexico and Guatamala in July, the Browns will return to Ashland prior to their de parture for Japan where Mr. Brown will teach in the Unit ed States Air Force depend ents' school. The Browns are temporar ily residing at 446 Allison street, Ashland. Mrs. Brown's mother, Mrs. Mary Johnson, and her sisters, Linda and Frances, motored from Missis sippi last week to be with the Browns and also to visit the L. B. Martin family. . Special significance was at tached to the reunion since the 1959 class was the last to graduate from Jacksonville high school. The district will become part of the Medford ! system next year. ! Twenty-one class members, j their wives or husbands, and John Harr, class adviser, and Mrs. Harr were present. The room was decorated with spring flowers, and back ground music completed the informal setting. - ; After dinner Ellis Doty, Klamath Falls, read the class prophecy in the "Tomahawk", 1949 yearbook for which hje was editor. Mr. Doty introduced his wife, the former Phyllis Ryd berg of Medford, and told of his years in the navy and his present career with an optical company. The Dotys have one son. Each former student and the adviser related experienc es since graduation. Mr. Harr is now principal of Rogue River schools and lives near there. Bruce "Matheny and Mrs. LeRoy Offenbacher are teach ers at Ruch and Applegate re- spectively. From Brookings Mrs. John Ray (Lura Rob ins) who traveled from Brook ings with her two daughters, is manager of the Curry Coun ty Credit Bureau. Mr. and Mrs. Michael Bray (Wilma Mclntyre) are spend ing the month of June in the valley while he is on furlough from the air force in Anchor age, Alaska. Their three sons flew here with them and are visiting their grandparents in Jacksonville. Mr. and Mrs. Wayne Mo Daniels came from Alabama with their four children for a few days and are returning to Vosika Family On Vacation Trip Mr. and Mrs. A. D. Vosika, 2835 Elliott street, and then four children, Larry, Chero lyn, Dennis, and Randy, spent three weeks visiting relatives and points of inter est in several northern states. .The family traveled to Sioux Falls, S.D., where they for merly lived, and visited the Bad Lands of South Dakota, Glacier National park, Mon tana, and Grand Coulee dam, Wash. Mr. and Mrs. Don Harris (Myrna Hackert) were present from Grants Pass and Mr. and Mrs. Max Killingsworth (Car- Reports Given On Girls State Girls who attended Girls State in Salem last week were welcomed home Tuesday, June 23, at a meeting of the Medford unit American Le gion auxiliary. The state aux iliary sponsors this annual state-wide event. The young women and their mothers were guests of the auxiliary. They included Lin da Lowry and Mrs. Barbara Lowry; Rosiland Randle and Mrs. A. L. Randle; Elaine Jen nings and Mrs-. Sam Jennings; Anne. Haviland and Mrs. Paul Haviland; Alice Croxton and Mrs. V. H. Croxton. Other guests were represen tatives of groups which helped sponsor the girls. They were Mrs. Eloise Winklebleck, Zon ta club; Mrs. John Stewart, Phoenix Thursday club; and Jay Elliott, president of St. Mary's High School Parents club. The girls' reported that they had "a wonderful time" at Girls State and had discover ed many things about running the government. All held of fices in the make-believe state. Some of the group danced following dinner, but most vis ited for several hours at their first reunion. On the following day many of the group gathered with their children for a picnic at the ranch home of Mr. and Mrs. Offenbacher on the Ap plegate river. The class decided that those moving in the future should send their new addresses to LeRoy Offenbacher, route 1, J a c k s o nville, to facilitate plans for the next reunion. - Talent Garden Club Announces Picnic Talents M e m b e r s of the Talent Garden club will meet for a potluck picnic at noon July 1 at the home of Mrs. Harold Strauss. Lamb, 719 Bennett street, became the bride of Louis William Haussler, son of William Haussler, Arapahoe, Neb., in a ceremony held June 19 in St. Peter's Lutheran church. The Rev. John E. Simon of ficiated at the double-ring ceremony held at seven o'clock in the evening. The bride wore an empire style gown of white Chantilly lace over white satin with pearls, and a white feather hat. Mrs. Wilbur Hinkle, sister of the bride, was matron of honor. She wore a multi flowered dotted Swiss frock with puff sleeves and a wide brimmed white hat. v Wilbur Hinkle, brother-in-law of the bride, was best man. For her daughter's wedding and the reception, Mrs. Lamb wore a navy blue dress with white accessories. The wedding was attended by the bride's immediate fam ily; and the reception, which followed, was at the home of the bride's parents. v Mrs. George Eppinger cut Games and Dancing Planned for Group Medford Fifty Plus club will meet Friday, July 3, at 12:30 p.m. in St. Mark's Epis copal Guild hall, corner of Fifth street and Oakdale ave nue.
