Miss Lea was selected at the Military Ball last week end and will reign over military reriews and social events daring the year. The Little Colonel is a daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Paul E. Lea of 2148 Hillcrest road. She is majoring in home economics. Squadrons Plan Valentine Dances Medford and Grants Pass Composite squadrons of the Civil Air Patrol have both scheduled Valentine dances this month. The Grants Pass group will hold a dance at the Hi Teens building in Grants Pass Sat urday, February 7. The occa sion will be the first anniver sary for the squadron. Mem bers of the Medford squadron re invited to attend. Saturday, February 14, ' a Sweetheart ball will be held in Medford with the Senior squadron in charge of the event. The Grants Pass group is invited to attend. Appropriate dress for the dances is semi-formal for the women and class A uniforms for the men. Business Meeting . Mistletoe camp, Royal Neighbors of America, will hold a business meeting Thursday, February 5, at 7:30 p.m. in the Pythian hall. Beta Sigma Phi to Hold Annual Valentine Ball One of the large events for the coming week end is the annual Valentine ball of Beta Sigma Phi sorority. It is planned at the Rogue Val ley Country club Saturday, February 7. A queen , will be selected Robertson Collins Home From East Robertson Collins has re turned to his home on Black Oak drive after spending three weeks in the East. While in New York City, Mr. Col lins visiied his brother-in-law and sister, Dr. and Mrs. Rich ard Stark. During Mr. Collins'- stay, the Starks were hosts for a cocktail party in their apart ment, inviting guests who for merly live'd in If-.dford. The group included Mrs. Burton Daugherty (Julie Carpenter) who was up from the Daugh erty home in St. Croix, the Virgin Islands; Mr. and Mrs. George Martin Jr. (Nancy Clark) and Miss Sara Hart. Mr. Collins also saw Mr. and Mrs. Harlow Carpenter who were in New York from their home in Waitsfield, Vt. Miss Adabee Seiler To Be Lodge Hostess An executive meeting of the Degree of Honor lodge will be held Monday, Febru ary 2, at 11:45 a.m. at the home of Miss Adabee Sieler, 1132 West Main street. A luncheon will be served. Degree of Honor Past Pres idents will meet Tuesday, February 3, at 8 p.m. at the home of Mrs. Katherine Pitts, 675 West 13th street. from the four Valentine Girls and will be crowned that evening. Chapter nomina tions for the queen title are Mrs. Nils Edin, Xi Mu; Mrs. Clinton Neeley, Alpha Beta; Mrs. Walter Smith, Beta Up silon; and Mrs. James A. Redden, Alpha Rho. , A buffet supper will be served at 8:30 p.m. which will be followed by the corona tion and dancing. Mrs. J. Edgar Moir is gen eral chairman of the dance. Committee members include Mrs. William E. Prentiss, music; Mrs. Dan Kidd, tick ets; Mrs. Walter Larson, cor onation; Mrs. John Holmes, judges; Mrs. Richard Knoll, arrangements; Mrs. F. P. Wilson, publicity; and Mrs. C. A. Stoddard, chairman of decorations. The visitors are newly weds, their marriage having taken place in Oakland, Calif., December 19. The bride is the former Dorothy Osborne. . Great Decisions Unit To Meet on Monday Trie second session of the Great Decision series being held at the Senior Center, East Jackson street at Haw thorne avenue, is scheduled for Monday, February 2, at 2 p.m. All interested adults are invited to attend. Past Matrons' Club Announces Meeting Reames Past Matrons club will meet Monday, February 2, at the home of Mrs. Vern on Turpin on Old Military road. Assisting will be Mrs. A. W. Denny, Mrs. R. L. Ray, Mrs. Earl Gray and Mrs. Hel en Minkler.. Bridge Club Plans Play The monthly master point play of Medford Duplicate Bridge club will be held Thursday, February 5, at the Girls Community club. The following Saturday, February 7, the annual charity benefit party of Valley bridge clubs will be held there. At the last session of regu lar play 15 tables participated, the largest crowd ever to at tend a non-master point play session of the club. Top scores in the north south position were won by Mrs. A. W. Lingaas and Mrs. George Rode, 188V, while in the east-west position high scores were won by Mrs. Paul Hatton and E. K. Ricker, 182. Other high scores in the north-south position were won by Mrs. Robert Elliott and Ray wise, second, 185Vi; Mrs. Sam Van Dyke and Stanley Stark, third, 184; Don Rever man and Dick House, fourth, I8II-2; and Mrs. Berg Marten and William Knope, fifth, 163. In the east-west position top scores went to Mr. and Mrs. Roger Smoot, second, 177; Mrs. J. P.
