Dennii Clifford Koliko ' (Knackstedt photo) Kottke- Cane Rites Held In Central Point Church Central Point Miss Alice Fern Cane, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Alfred Cane, 62 North Fourth street, became the bride of Dennis Clifford Kottke, son of Mr. and Mrs. Lawrence Kottke, 261 North Fourth street, in a double ring ceremony held November 27 at the Church of Christ, Cen tral Point. William Heberly of the Church of Christ, Creswell, Ore., officiated at the five o'clock afternoon wedding at tended by 40 relatives and friends. Given in marriage by her father, the bride wore a white satin dress with Chantilly lace panels and carried a bouquet of pink roses. Mrs. Richard Hamilton at tend the bride and Robert L. Kottke, Salem, served as best man for his brother. Mrs. Hamilton wore a dress of sky blue brocade and carried pink roses. Pink chrysanthemums dec orated the church and Mrs. Heberly played the tradition al organ wedding music. For her daughter's wedding Mrs. Cane wore, a slate gray dress with white acces sories. Mrs. Kottke chose a green suit with white acces sories. Their corsages were of carnations. Following the ceremony a reception was held at the Cane home. Among the guests attending was the maternal grandmoth er of the bridegroom Mrs. Maria Greenslit, 87, of Cen tral Point. The bride is a graduate of Crater High school and at tended the University of Ore gon. She was employed by Tobin Crawford Insurance company. Mr. Kottke attend ed Crater High school and is a student at San Jose Bible college, San Jose, Calif., where the couple are making their home. Among the wedding guests were Mrs. Robert L. Kottke, sister-in-law of the bride groom, and four children, Sal em, and Sgt. and Mrs. Wil liam D. Howell, brother-in-law and sister of the bride groom, and their four chil dren, North Highlands, Calif. . . Cancels Meeting The December meeting of the book review group of Medford branch, " American Association of University Women, originally set for De cember 10, has been canceled. Reception Given For Newlyweds Mr. and Mrs. Donald Reyn old, whose wedding took place November 22 m Reno, Nev., are making their home at 209 Tripp street, Medford. The bride is the former Carol Baker, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Paul Schantol, 26ol Table Rock road, and the bridegroom is a son of Mr, and Mrs. George Yokel, Tal ent. The wedding was held in First Methodist church, Reno, Miss Celia Nystrom, Chico, Calif., attended the bride and Jack Barrett, Talent, was best man. Mrs. Barrett and Wil liam Eagle were also present. The bride wore a Paris pink wool sheath for the ceremony. A reception was given No vember 29 at the home of the bridegroom's parents in Talent. Mrs. Barrett took charge of the guest book and Mrs. Kenneth Reynolds, the bridegroom's sister-in-law, the gifts. Mrs. Belvin Doane,. Eu gene, aunt of the bride, cut the wedding cake and Mrs, Pearle Schantol, Springfield, Ore., the bride's grandmother, poured. Mrs. Warren Gibbs, the bridegroom's sister, pro vided music for the event. A trio from Church of the Naz- arene, Ashland, sang. Among the reception guests were Mr. and Mrs. H. E. Wil liams, Petz, Colo.; Mr. and Mrs. -Wendel Reynolds, Cres cent City, Calif.; Mr. and Mrs Conrad Nystrom, Merlin, Ore.; Belvin Doane and Mr. and Mrs. Homer Payne, Eugene; Arlen Schantol, Springfield. The bride attended South ern Oregon and Chico State colleges, and is employed by the Steve Wilson Lumber company. Sunday, December 14. The soloists are: Virginia Cecil, soprano; Lois Windsor, contralto; Louis Clayson,- tenor; and Maynard Hadney, bass. Composed of a group of adult singers from the area and the Southern Oregon col lege choir, directed by Oscar C- Bjorlie, the "Messiah" chorus has been meeting at the college twice a week to rehearse for this presentation of Handel's famous concerto. Dr. Herbert Cecil, assistant professor of music at the col lege, will conduct the per formance. No admission charge will be made, it was announced, although an of fering will be accepted for the orchestra scholarship fund. The public is invited to attend. Mrs. Rolf Hansen Honored at Party Central Point - Mrs. Rolf Hansen tof Spokane, Wash., was honored December 4 with ar open house at the home of Mrs. John Clark, 415 South Second street in Central Point. Mrs. Hansen resided in Cen tral Point for several years while her husband, the Rev. Rolf Hansen, was the minister of the Community Bible church. The open house gave Mrs. Hansen an opportunity of visiting with her many friends in Medford, Eagle Point and Central Point. For the occasion, Mrs. Clark had decorated her home with Christmas arrangements. The centerpiece for the refresh ment table was a pine cone Christmas tree which Mrs. Clark had made. Co-hostesses were Mrs. Paul Kroon, Mrs.. Dick Lawton, Mrs. Lawerence Leonard, Mrs. Frank McKimmens, and Mrs. Lewis Collins. Hostesses Give Bridal Shower Talent Mrs. Jack Foster, the former Dorothy . Long, who was married November 14, was honored at a bridal shower at the Talent Metho dist church November 21. Mrs. Virgil Neuenschwander, Mrs. Willis Bench and Mrs. Damon Floyd were hostesses for the event. A blue and white theme was used in the room decora tions. Games were played and gifts opened.
