Walker in a ceremony held November 28 at the Faith Tabernacle in Ashland. The Rev. Leo C. Wine officiated at the double ring ceremony held at 2:30 o'clock in the afternoon. The bride is daughter of Mrs. Earl W. Etters, 4529 South Pacific highway, and Lt Col. Leon R. Clark, Unit ed States Air Force. Mr. Walker is a son of Mr. and Mrs. Kenneth Walker, 728 West Second street, Medford Dark pink carnations and chrysanthemums d e c o rated the church for the wedding which was held on the bride's 18th birthday. Cearley, 30 West Third street, Eagle Point, an nounce the engagement and approaching marriage of their daughter, Margaret Linda, to Arthur E. Phillpott, 709 Alder street, Medford. Mr. Phillpott is a son of Mrs. Lana Jane Phillpott, Medford and Or- ville M. Phillpott, Vale, Ore. The wedding is planned for December 26 at 7:30 o'clock Jn the evening at the Eagle Point Community Bible church. Miss Cearley is a graduate of Eagle Point High school a n d is employed by Bear Creek orchards. Mr. Phillpott is a graduate of Ashland High school and is employed at Pin nacle Packing company. Cocktail Party Honors Couple Robertson Collins was host for a cocktail party Friday aft ernoon which honored Miss Shirley Douglass and her fi ance William Patton. The par ty was given at the " Collins home, 164 Black Oak drive. Miss Douglass and Mr. Pat- ton plan to be married in Portland during the Christ mas season. Miss Douglass is a daughter of Mr. and Mrs, Adraen E. Douglass, Portland, and Mr. Patton is a son of Mrs. C Rease Braley, Medford. organ wedding music and was soloist. The bride wore a floor length white Chantilly lace dress over satin and carried a orchid . encircled by pink carnations on a Bible. Claud A. Callen, Conipton, Calif., gave his granddaughter in marriage. Miss Janice Grove was honor attendant and Mrs. Don Wallace, Miss Lois Gage, Tal ent, Mrs. Robert Brown, Ar cadia, Calif., and Mrs. Don Pointivent, Portland, were bridesmaid and bridesma trons. They wore ballerina length pale pink taffeta frocks and white accessories and carried pink carnations. Flower girl was Sherry Wine of Ashland and ring bear was Terry Etters broth er of the bride. Terry Brereton served as best man while Dan Grieves, Dan Hunter, Glen Allison, and Dennis Dibble seated the 100 relatives and other guests who attended. Following the ceremony a reception was held at the church. Mrs. Lambeth cut and served the wedding cake and Mrs. Mark Conger presided at the punch bowl. The couple traveled to San Francisco on their wedding trip the bride wearing a grey suit with black accessories and a white feather hat The bride is a graduate of Phoenix High school and Mr. Walker attended Medford High school and Southern Oregon college. He is employed by Groceteria Super Food Market. They are making their home at 932 Newtown avenue. Freeman-Caton Rites Announced Mr. and Mrs. Lloyd Caton, 1003 Saling street, announce the marriage of their daugh ter, Jane Carlene Caton, to Larry Freeman, son of Mr. and Mrs. John Freeman, 310 Lonnon road, Grants Pass. The ceremony took place in the Federated Presbyterian church, Reno, Nev. on Sat urday afternoon, November 22. The bride's parents attend ed the couple. The bride wore a white wool and orlon frock trimmed with brown fur. She is a grad uate of Grants Pass High school. The newlyweds are living in Medford. Showers Honor Elayne Leach; Rites Saturday Miss Elayne Leach, daugh ter of Mr. and Mrs. Edward J Leach, 1228 Corona avenue, was honored recently by two showers. Miss Leach left De cember 5 for Hong Kong where her marriage to John Francis McCelland of Rich mond, Yorkshire, England, will take place December 13. Miss Sidney Smith was hos tess for a surprise shower giv en at her home, 1033 Reddy avenue, Guests were college friends of Miss Leach and following the shower hus bands of the guests arrived for the remainder of the evening. Another surprise event was held at the Leach home by family friends. Twin Brothers And Brides Wed Central Point In a double wedding ceremony November 22, Miss Judith Van Horn be came the bride of Verne James Cimfl, and Miss Marsha Marrel was married to La- verne John Cimfl. The form er is a daughter of Mr. and Mrs. A. D. Van Horn, Cen tral Point, . and the latter is a daughter of Mrs. Edward Marrel, Eugene, and the late Mr. Marrel. The service took place in Park wedding chapel, " Reno, Nev. The bridegrooms are twin sons of Mr. and Mrs. John C. Cimfl, 162 North Second Street in Central Point. For her wedding, Miss Van Horn wore a white silk and brocade dress fashioned prin cess style with matching jack et and white accessories. For "something old" she wore a pearl necklace which her fath er had given to her mother on their wedding day. She carried a white Bible which was presented to her from her grandmother, Mrs. J. B. Tilley, and wore a pink ca mellia corsage. Miss Marrel wore 'a soft white knit two-piece ensemble with white accessories and a gardenia corsage. Mrs. Laverne John Cimfl was graduated from Grants Pass High school 1957; Mrs. Verhe James Cimfl was grad uated from Crater High school the same year. The two bridegrooms at tended high school in Gold Hill, graduating in 1951. Mr. and Mrs. Verne James Cimfl will reside in Glendale, Ore., and Mr. and Mrs. La verne John Cimfl will make their home in Central Point. take place this year Friday, December 12, at Rogue Valley Country club. All proceeds from the ball will go for the support of the league's kindergarten for hard-of-hearing children. For the past three years, fancy headdresses worn by the women guests have added to the gaiety and color of the ball, and women guests are asked to wear the headdress es again this year. Many of tnese creations are beautiful, others are unique. They are judged during the evening and the winner is proclaimed "Queen of the Ball." The ball is scheduled to begin at 9 o'clock, with a cocktail hour from 8 to 9 p.m. Dancing will be in the main dining room and in the Crest room. Beginning at 9 p.m. a buffet dinner will "be served. Miss Charlotte Campbell Betrothal News Told by Parents The engagement of Miss Charlotte "Jody" Campbell to Second Lt. Carl Eric Mohr of Medford has been announc ed by 'Miss Campbell's par ents. Col. and Mrs. Thomas J. Campbell of Philadelphia, who are presently residing in Granite City, 111. Miss Campbell is a senior in the School of Education, Oregon State College, but at this time is practice teaching in the public schools of Sa lem, Ore. She -is ' a: member of Sigma Kappa sorority, Ore gon State college, Corvallis, and a graduate of the Corval lis High school, class of 1955. Mr. Mohr is the son of Mr and Mrs. Emil H. Mohr, 12 Black Oak drive, Medford. He was graduated from Oregon State college in June, 1958, and was commissioned a sec ond lieutenant in the United States Army Reserve. He was called to active duty Novem ber 1, and assigned to the Quartermaster School at Ft Lee, Va. '', Student Elected Head of Chapter Richard Lee Werner son of Mr. and Mrs. R. D. Werner, 531 Pennsylvania street, was recently elected, president of Pi Kappa Phi fraternity at Oregon State college. The student is a senior ma joring in ornithology. He was formerly the treasurer of his fraternity. Young Werner was in the valley visiting his parents for the Thanksgiving holiday. The Rev. Leo C. Wine officiated at the single ring ceremony held at seven o'clock in the evening. The bride is a daughter of Mrs. Glrdys Cole, 115 Gib son street, Talent. Mr. Mooney is a s?n of Mr. and Mrs. Jack Mooney, 135 South Oakdale avenue, Medford. White chrysanthemums and red carnations decorated the church for the ceremony and Clark Lambeth,. Ashland, played the organ and was so loist. Nearly 80 relatives and friends attended. The bride wore a floor length white satin gown and her veil was fingertip length. She carried a bouquet of white, carnations and red rose buds on a white Bible. Mrs. Cole gave her daughter in marriage. Miss Patricia Nunes, Phoe nix, was maid of honor while the other attendants were Miss Joan Cole, sister of the bride, Mrs. Verle Lubbers, and Mrs. Lee Saunders, Med ford. They wore frocks of blue, yellow, green and pink and carried bouquets of white carnations. Twins Debbie and Beckie Saunders were flower girls. They wore green taffeta frocks with net overskirts and carried baskets of rose petals. Danny Saunders was ring bearer. Martin Witcherley, Grants Pass, served as best man and Doyle Whitehead, Grants Pass, Douglas Conger and Robert Conger both Ashland, seated the guests. Following the ceremony a reception was held at the church. Mrs. Clark Lambeth cut and served the wedding cake while Mrs. Mark Conger, Ashland, presided at the punch bowl. Mrs. Martin Wit cherley was in charge of the guest book. For her daughter's wedding Mrs. Cole wore a mauve dress. Mrs. Mooney wore a gray dress with matching bolero. Their corsages were of white carnations. - - The couple traveled to Shasta City, Calif, on their wedding trip, the bride wear ing an apple green dress. They are making their'home at 135 South Oakdale avenue. The bride attended Talent public schools. Mr. Mooney attended Glendale schools. 4 Valerie Harper Visits Valley Miss Valerie Harper of New York has arrived to visit friends in the Medford and Ashland area. Formerly a res ident of Ashland, Miss Har per studied dancing with Col leen Hope in Medford. She continued her studies at Bal let Arts in Carnegie hall when she moved to New York, and studied under Val- dimir Dokoudovsky, Nina Strogovana and Lisan Kaye. I She danced one of the lead parts in. the Broadway pro duction of "L'il Abner" at the St- James theater, and trav eled to Las Vegas for a two- month production of the show with the original cast. Miss Harper has also ap peared in dance productions at Radio City Music hall and in the motion picture "Rock, Rock, Rock." Her professional career has included photo graphic modeling and dance roles in television. She had worked under such noted choreographers as Agnes De Mille, Michael Kidd, Matt Maddox and Peter Gennaro. . Miss Harper will be guest of Miss Hope over the week end and friends are invited to greet her at the studio, 45 Hawthorne avenue. A Alumnae Officer To Be Honored Valley Delta Gamma alum nae will honor Miss Agnes Beach, Portland, province alumnae officer, at a luncheon Saturday, December 13, at 12:30 p.m. at the Rogue Val ley Country club. All alumnae in the Rogue valley are asked to contact Mrs. John Cotton, Ashland, MUrdock 5-8042, of for the Medford area, Mrs. Richard Stratton, NOrmandy 4-1971. Since this is the first event planned by Delta Gamma alumnae in the valley all members are asked to call whether they will be able to attend the luncheon or not. Mr. and Mrs. Irvine L. Uri (Classic photo) Presbyterian Rites Wed Ruth Fisher, Irvine Urie Miss Ruth Fisher became the bride of Irvine L. Urie in a candlelight ceremony held November 28 at First Presby terian church. Dr. D. Kirk land West officiated at the eight o'clock evening event attended by more than 250 relatives and friends. The bride is a daughter of Mr. and Mrs. W. H. Fisher, 2795 Bullock road. Mr. Urie is a son of Mr. and Mrs. Glen D. Urie, Reedsport, Ore. Bronze and white chrysan themums decorated the church for the double ring ceremony. Mrs. H. E. Marsh played the organ wedding mu sic and Otis Swisher was solo ist. ' Given in marriage by her father, the bride wore a gown of Alencon lace fashioned with fitted bodice, long sleeves and portrait neckline outlined in pearls. The full skirt terminated in a chapel train and her fingertip length tulle veil was held by a crown of pearls and sequins. She carried white orchids sent from Hawaii by friends. Mrs. Robert Fisher, Lake Creek, sister-in-law of the bride, was matron of honor while other attendants were Miss Nelsie Persson and Miss Ruth Persson, both Seattle, Miss Patricia Urie and Miss Eileen Urie, both Reedsport, sisters of the bridegroom, and Miss Penny Sampert. They wore jade green satin frocks in ballerina length with dark green cummerbunds and car ried bronze chrysanthemums. Candlelighters were Marsha and Evelyn Potter. They were dressed as the other attend ants. Alvin Urie served as best man for his brother while John Fisher, brother of the bride, John Halleck, Nathan Snodgrass, both Reedsport, Roderick McLeod, Seattle, and Victor Hadley seated the guests. Little Michael Stokes, Roseburg, was ring bearer. Following the ceremony a reception was held at the church. Mrs. Stanley Stark cut and served the wedding cake and Mrs. Hulda Ram- strom presided at the punch bowl. Mrs. Ted Walland nour- ed the coffee while Miss Sharon Wooten was in charge of the guest book. The couple are making their home at 391 Bridge street, Ashland, following their return from a wedding trip to San Francisco and the Bay area. For traveling the bride wore a light blue suit with black accessories and a white orchid. The bride attended Med ford High school and is a student at Southern Oregon college. Mr. Urie attended Reedsport High school and Southern Oregon college and is employed by the Leo Hoag Logging company. Among the out- of- town guests here for the wedding were Mr. and Mrs. Urie, Reedsport, parents of the bridegroom, Mr. and Mrs. Nils Persson, Seattle, Mr. and Mrs. Gunnar Holmberg, Port land, Mr. and Mrs. Emil Bloomquist, Eureka, and Mr. and Mrs. Chan Stokes and sons, Roseburg. A rehearsal dinner was giv en for members of the bridal party and out of town rela tives by the Fishers at the Tally Ho November 27. Christmas Luncheon Announced for Club Jacksonville - The Decem ber meeting of Adarel Past Matrons' club will be in the form of a Christmas parly, and will be held at Rogue Val ley Country club Wednesday, December 10.
