Oregon, Sunday, Notmbr 30. 1938 3A Miss Joanne Mae Ritter Bride of Milton Sanderson Gold Hill-Miss Joanne Mae Ritter became the bride of Milton LeRoy (Lee) Sander son in a ceremony held Thurs day, November 20, at First Methodist church in Medford. Dr. G. G. Roseberry officiated at the 8 o'clock double-ring ceremony, attended by 100 relatives and friends. The bride is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. John R. Ritter, Gold Hill, and the bridegroom is the son of Mr. and Mrs. Milton A. Sanderson of Sams Valley. The bride and bridegroom are both members of well known Jackson county families, and their forefathers were among the earliest settlers in south ern Oregon. The wedding color theme was bronze and gold. Arrange ments of bronze and gold giant chrysanthemums with miniature yellow and brown chrysanthemums in baskets decorated the church, and white candelabra held lighted white tapers. A satin bow of bronze and gold was at each pew end. Soloist was Mrs. C. Norman Gail, Gold Hill and Mrs. Alice Boardman, Medford, played the organ. The bride, given in mar riage by her father, wore a waltz length dress of white French type Chantilly lace over white taffeta, fashioned with a scoop neckline accent ed by seed pearls, fitted bodice and flared skirt. Her fingertip length veil fell from a crown of white seed pearls and iridescent sequins. The crown and veil were designed and made by Mrs. Earl Moore, Gold Hill, for the bride. The bridal bouquet was yellow spider chrysanthemums cen tered by a white orchid. Wore Taffeta ' The maid-of-honor. Miss Sandra Whitesides, Medford, wore a taffeta sheath, frock of burnt orange with a gold net overskirt and matching Salad Luncheon Planned Tuesday A salad luncheon will be served at a meeting of the Lady Elks Tuesday, Decem ber 2, at 1 p.m. in the Med ford Elks temple party lounge. Cards will be played follow ing the luncheon. Hostesses for the meeting will be Mrs. Everett Gillespie, Mrs. J. W. Bates and Mrs. H. K. Hanna. Bridesmatrons were Mrs. Darrel Greb, Central Point and Mrs. Jack Pech, sister of the bridegroom, Medford They were dressed in gold taffeta sheaths with gold net overskirts and matching shoes, and carried cascades of bronze chrysanthemums. Tiaras of gold net, pearls and ribbon worn by the attend ants were made by Mrs. Greb, childhood friend of the bride. The tiny flowergirl, Vicky Sanderson, sister of the bride groom, wore a coral taueta dress with matching bandeau of coral net and rosebuds. She wore white gloves' and match ing shoes, and scattered petals from a white straw basket. Her wristlet was of bronze and gold chrysanthemums Candlelighters were Miss Delores Sanderson, sister of the bridegroom, and Miss Marilyn Moore, cousin of the bride, Grants Pass. They wore princess style dresses of moss green taffeta, with white gloves and matching shoes, Mrs. Greb made their head bands of moss green net and yellow rosebuds, and they wore wristlets of bronze and gold chrysanthemums. Pearls Given . Each of the attendants wore a single strand of pearls, gifts from the bride. Jack Pech, Medford, brother-in-law of the bridegroom, was best man. Ushers were Charles Hallowell, Medford and Peter Stegall, former resi dent of Medford, who was on leave from his duties in the U. S. Navy. A reception was held in the social room of the church. The bride's table was centered with an arrangement of yel low chrysanthemums and white ribbon encircling the wedding cake, which was made and decorated by the bridegroom's mother. White tapers, in crystal candelabra flanked the centerpiece. Yel low chrysanthemums complet ed the reception decorations. Mrs. George McCollum, aunt of the bride, cut and served the wedding cake as sisted by Mrs. Earl Moore. Mrs. Shirley Reed, Medford, great aunt of the bridegroom, poured coffee. Mrs. Fred Kon schot, cousin of the bride, Medford, presided at the punch bowl, and Mrs. Gordon Mekvold. Central Point at tended the guest book. Smith was elected noble grand of the Olive Rebekah lodge at a re cent meeting. Others elected were Mrs. Esther Coleman, vice-grand; Mrs. Harry Bry ant, recording secretary; Mrs. L. F. Cline, financial secre tary; and Mrs. Donald Ivie, treasurer. .' The lodge will meet Mon day, December 1, at 8 p.m. at the Odd Fellows hall. Mrs. P. M. Aldridge, Mrs. James Fleming, Mrs. L. J. Amer and Mrs. Kenneth Stockoff will be in charge of refreshment. a sheath of winter blue taffeta brocade with white feather hat and white accessories. The bridegroom's mother wore a dress of mauve pink, with black accessories. Their cor sages were white rosebuds. Grandparents Attend Among the guests were the paternal grandparents of the bridegroom, Mr. and Mrs. C. C. Sanderson, Sams Valley, and his maternal grandmoth er, Mrs. C. R. Alexander, Med ford. The newlyweds traveled to San Francisco, California for their wedding trip, the bride wearing a sheath dress- of deep pink wool jersey with matching satin Cummerbund, black patent accessories and the white orchid from her bridal bouquet. The couple will reside in Medford. The bride, a gradu ate of Crater High school, is a member of Bethel 38, Job's Daughters, Central Point. She sang in the Gold Hill Com munity Methodist church choir for several years, being one of the original members of the choir. She is employed in the X-ray department for Drs. Lawson, Gillum and Markee in Medford. The bridegroom is a grad uate of Crater High school. He is a corporal in Company A, 186 Infantry division, Ore gon National Guard, and is employed at Fir Ply company in the White City area. Prior to her marriage the bride was honored at. two showers. One was given in the home of the bridegroom's mother in Sams Valley by Miss Sandra Whitesides and Mrs. J. W. Pech, November 13. November 17. she was honored at a shower held in the home of her aunt, Mrs. George McCollum, Old Stage road north of Gold Hill. County Librarian Here Miss Evelyn Cooper, direc tor of the Klamath County li brary for the past nine years, spent the Thanksgiving holi day week end in Medford as the house guest of her aunt, Mrs. John Soliss, III Genesee street. Miss Cooper and Mrs. Soliss were the guests of the Charles Hoovers for Thanks giving dinner, and later en tertained Miss Helen Web ster, Jackson County library director, at supper. Miss Cooper spent a day in the Jackson County library headquarters during her visit. During the preceding week Miss Eleanor Brown, director of the Deschutes County li brary, paid a visit to Miss Helen Webster and spent a morning in library headquar ters. She also visited Miss Cora Mason at the Ashland Public library and Miss Myrtle Funkhouser, librarian at Southern Oregon college, before returning to her duties at Bend. Miss Helen Webster recent ly went to Eureka, Calif., to observe the operations of the Humboldt County library and the library of Humboldt State college in Areata. During her visit she was a guest at the farewell luncheon honoring Stephen Ewing, who is leav ing the Humboldt county li brarianship to take a position in San Leandro, Calif. She was also entertained as house guest by Mr. and Mrs. Wil liam Hansen, formerly of Ra dio KMED, Medford, and now owners of Radio KDAN, Eureka. Episcopalians To Hold Bazaar "An Old-Fashioned Christ mas" is the theme of the ba zaar which the Women's aux iliary of St. Mark's Episcopal church will hold Thursday, December 4, from 10 a.m. un til 5 p.m. Among the items for sale will be handmade Christmas tree, decorations, c a n'd y wreaths, patio lamps, candles, pheasant hats, aprons, stuffed toys and cooked foods and and homemade preserves from the pantry.
