The new president, Susan Cox, called the meeting to order. Newly elected officers in 7 e Cherr are Carrie Greene, vice presi dent; Barbara Moore, secre berry tary-treasurer; Sue Hunter, re porter, and Karyn Jantzer, son leader. Bobbing Bobbins' ' The 4-H sewing chib spon sored by Mrs. Leonard Franek met at her home Saturday, Nov. 14, and selected the name "Bobbing Bobbins." The meeting was called to order by President Coleen Franek, by-laws were read, voted on and accepted. Review demonstrations were given by each girl. Then the members practiced mak ing button-holes Refreshments of angel cake and cider were served by Col leen Franek and Carolee Kuest. The meeting was ad journed and games were led by Kathy Thompson. Madelyn Drennen Reporter The Phoenix Knit-Wits met at the home of Mrs. Jeanette Grove on Fern Valley rd., Medford on Wednesday, Nov. 12. Next meeting will be held at the home of Mrs. Grove on Wednesday, Nov. 26. Marilyn Kantor, Reporter Woman Pensioner To Get Operation Alhambra, Calif. - (UPD - An 80-year-old woman pensioner whose $4d0 savings for an eye operation were stolen by a purse snatcher will be op erated on anyway. The local Lions club an nounced over the week end that newspaper readers who read of Eva Des Autels plight had contributed $150 towards the operation and that the club would make up the rest oi ine cost. Miss Des Autels, a $55-a month pensioner, had saved $450 from her small earnings as a seamstress, but the money was stolen last week. She needs the operation to save her right eye. Prince Charles Confined to Bed London-CPD-Prince Charles was confined to bed today for the ninth day since he caught a cold visiting his parents to celebrate his 10th birthday. Buckingham Palace said Charles' condition "is not serious" and that he should be up and about at the Cheam boarding school in a day or two.
