41 MAIL TRIBUNE, Medford, Oregon, Sunday, August 17, 193 Fall Countryside Colors Included in Sportswear Fabrics and silhouettes, with the frequent addition of fur trimmings, combine to give many of the new suits a definite fall-through-winter character. Longer jackets team up with skirts or dresses in the highly - important walking emits, which are designed to go on into winter. The jackets vary from wrist to seven eighths length. Short jacket suits, too, can span the seasons, thanks in large part to their unfitted ease. Variety of Stylet The variety of suit styles finds a corresponding variety among coats, thus facilitating the choice of a coat to go over a suit. And, since the three piece ensemble is one of fall's favorite looks, Many suits come with their own match ing coats. ' "Into winter" fabrics of the new suits feature warmth without weight and plenty of surface interest, in highly tex tured tweeds, hairy boucles, nubby surfaces, ribbed and knitted effects. Worsteds in blends with fur or rabbit hair, wool prints, supple broad cloths and bold houndstooth checks are other suiting fa vorites. Unfitted Ease Unfitted ease is, as noted, the prevailing theme in suits. High - belted Empire jackets, trapeze and chemise shapes and double - breasted jackets appear among the newsmak ers, while shapes for skirts vary from slim and straight to tapered oval, and from jutting trapeze to pleated. Fur trimmings are at the peak of interest, with special attention to long-haired furs such as lynx, red or black fox and raccoon. When it comes to color, any thing goes including bold plaids and checks, bright shades, harvest hues and new winter pastels. Brown Represented Among Fall Colors Shorter skirts puts legs and hosiery in the spotlight for fall. Along with this is the trend to color and more color, everywhere in fashion. New stockings take advan tage of both the emphasis on legs and the interest in color. Harvest tones are comple mented by spicy browns with a hint of orange. Brown in general is well represented among the new nylons, and from here it's just a step to the bronzy greens, which virtually every hosiery manufacturer pre sents as a leading fashion a-foot. Blues and reds, in an attrac tive range of hues, are avail able for day to late day wear. Chameleon colors appear in irridescent stockings which change due and mood with the color of the costume and the time of day. MODERN SECTIONAL Gentle curves, for a softer look, distinguish this modern sectional grouping of two loveseats with walnut desk attached. Desk top and bases of the small baluster tables have a new spattered finish which resembles the speckles of a Plymouth Rock hen. White leather chair has butternut legs, arms. Furniture by Valley.
