MAIL TRIBUNE, Mdrord, Oro., Actress Hosp After Rebuff Hollywood (CPU Actress Wanda Hendrix, hospitalized in "deep shock" after her mil lionaire husband rebuffed her reconciliation attempt, was under observation - today at Cedars of Lebanon hospital. The film star, former wife of actor Audie Murphy, col lapsed Wednesday in the of fice of her attorney and was rushed by ambulance to the hospital. Oxygen was admin istered on the way. Dr. Lee Siegel, studio staff physician for 20th Century Fox, ordered her placed un der sedation and instructed Road-E-Q Finalists Tour White House Washington (UPD The 51 finalists in the seventh an nual national teen-age "Safe driving Rod-E-O" made a spe cial tour of the White House today. The tour was conduct ed by presidential aide Homer Gruenther. After the tour, Gruenther was presented with a white jacket bearing the Road-E-O insignia. If brought to trial and con victed, the gift-giving friend of Presidential Assistant Sher man Adams would face a maximum sentence of one year in prison and a $1,000 fine or both. ' The Justice Department spokesman explained the de partment's first step would be to "evaluate" the citation and the testimony that brought it about to see wheth er the case merited presenta tion to a federal grand jury. If the matter is turned over to a grand jury, he said, the jurors would decide whether Goldfine should be brought to trial. In Boston, Goldfine's at torney, Samuel P. Sears, said that "we will fight this, of course." He said the House cited Goldfine because mem bers "had to back up their committee." Attendance was smaller than usual due to the busy season in the fruit and other farm activities. Melvin Lattie, reporting on legislation, read a communi cation from State Grange con cerning farm subsidies. And he gave a talk on farm sub sidies as compared to those granted other businesses. He said articles published in cur rent magazines often gave the erroneous impression that farmers receive more than is due them, while in reality they receive much less than other businesses. Police found the car with its motor running a few min utes after the holdup. The bandits apparently changed cars and , escaped in north bound traffic." A current controversy cen ters around the fact that un less Rickover is promoted to vice admiral, he must retire from the Navy next July 1 He has been passed over twice by Navy promotion boards. A group of 21 sen ators introduced a bill Wed nesday urging that he be giv en a special medal for - his work on nuclear power. - Mrs. Rickover was quoted as saying "Navy brass was out to hurt my husband for his independent and free spirit." She reportedly assailed "stu pid windbags" in the higher echelons and claimed she was deliberately by-passed in the Triton affair.
