Virgil Allen Wilkes x - , (Classic photo) Miss Patricia Gosch PFed To Virgil Allen JVilkes Miss Patricia Kathleen Gosch became the bride of Virgil Allen Wilkes in a pri vate ceremony held June 28 at the Sacred Heart Catholic rectory. The Rev. John Ilg officiated at the double ring ceremony held at four o'clock in the afternoon and attended only by family members. The bride is a daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Everett Gosch, 243 North Ivy street. Mr. Wilkes is a son of Mr. and Mrs. Virgil R. Wilkes, 96 Clover lane. Pink and white gladiolus decorated the rectory for the event. The bride wore a white silk organza waltz length frock fashioned with fitted bodice and bouffant skirt. Her hat was of white horsehair braid with silk tulle trim and she carried a cascade bouquet of stephanotis and baby roses. Mrs. William Driscoll at tended her sister. She wore a lime green crystallette frock and carried a colonial nosegay of pink daisies. Donald F. Legget, Fort Klamath, served as best man. Following the ceremony a dinner' was held at the Gosch home for 20 relatives and close friends. Mrs. John Cox was in charge of arrange ments. That evening a reception! at the Rogue room of the Med-! ford hotel was attended by 75 relatives and friends. Mrs. J. E. Miss Lynne Williams was in charge of the gift table and Mrs. Jack Bailey was in charge of the guest book. Mrs. George Holz gang arranged the bride's ta ble for the reception. For her daughter's wed ding Mrs. Gosch wore a blue lace sheath frock with pink accessories and corsage of pink shattered carnations. Mrs. Wilkes chose a pink lace dress with matching jacket. Her corsage was of deep pink carnations. The couple are making their home on Clover lane follow ing their return from a wed ding trip to central Oregon and the coast. For her travel ing attire the bride wore a sheath frock of blue print silk with white accessories and pink rose corsage. The bride is a graduate of St. Mary's High school. Mr. Wilkes attended Medford High school and Southern Oregon college where he will be a senior this fall. He serv ed two years with the armed forces in Korea. Prior ta the wedding the bride was honored at a show er given by Mrs. Jack Bailey at her home at 66 Clover lane. A group of schoolmates and close friends of the . bride elect attended. Dinner Honors Richard Isaacs The staff of the Central Point branch, First National bank, honored Richard Isaacs, retiring manager of the branch, and Mrs. Isaacs, at a dinner last Wednesday eve ning at the Dardanelle in Gold Hill. Mr. Isaacs, who has been manager of the branch since its establishment in December, 1947, has been made assistant manager of the Hedford branch. Also guests at the dinner were Francis C. Ayres, who has been transferred from the Medford branch and made manager of the Central Point establishment, and Mrs. Avers. Twenty-four attended the dinner. During the evening Mrs. Isaacs was presented a corsage, and the staff pre sented Mr. Isaacs a farewell gift. Carl S.- Hueners, assistant cashier of the Central Point branch, made the presenta tion. Woman Arrives To Visit Cousins Mrs. Cornelia DuBois of Minneapolis arrived in Med ford Thursday by plane to spend week with relatives here. The visitor is a cousin of Mrs. Richard D- Werner, Mrs. Grance Fiero and Mrs. James Stevens, all of Med ford. Mrs. DuBois, a daughter of Dr Roy Andrews, is a niece of Ed and George Andrews, nationally known musicians and theatrical personalities who at one time lived in Med ford. Nurses to Hold Picnic at Durnos Oregon Nurses association, District 4, will hold the an nual picnic Thursday, July 10, at S p.m. at the home of Dr. and Mrs. Edwin Durno, 2512 East Main street, Med ford. A barbecue patio potluck dinner will be served and Miss Gertrude Molloy, dele gate to the American Nurses association convention held last month in Atlantic City, will give a report to the group. Brown, 1203 Queen Anne avenue, Medford, June 15 in Milwau kie Church of Christ, Milwau kie, Ore. The bride is a daugh ter of Mr. and Mrs. John W. Garrett of that city. The Rev. Alger M. Fitch Jr. officiated at the three o'clock afternoon ceremony. Jay Yelton was soloist and Marvin Eckf eldt played the traditional wedding music. Given in marriage by her father, the bride wore a floor length gown of white silk or ganza over taffeta fashioned with lace applique on the bo dice and skirt. Her fingertip length veil was held by a ti- Garden Rites Wed Couple Central Point Miss Doris Marie Schultz became the bride of Robert Daniel Flan nery in a garden ceremony held Saturday, June 28, in Ashland. Justice of the Peace L. Peers Wilmeth officiated at the single ring ceremony held at his home. Only family members attended. The bride is a daughter of Mr. and Mrs. E. J. Schultz, route 1, box. 270-B, Central Point. The bridegroom is a son of William H. Flannery, Central Point. The bride wore a white silk over taffeta frock fashioned with fitted bodice. Her shoul der length veil was held by a flowered cap and she carried a bouquet of sweetheart roses. ' Miss Mary Schultz attend ed her sister. She wore a pas tel pink frock with pink car nation corsage. LeRoy M. Standridge, Jack sonville, served as best man. The bride attended Crater High school and is employed as a secretary by Robert Dames, Medford attorney. Mr. Flannery is employed by Bear Creek Orchards. They are making their home at 121 Crater Lake avenue, Medford. 4 - Couple to Wed In Baptist Rites Announcement is made of the engagement and approach ing marriage of Miss Doris Emily Ruth, Medford, to Ami! Herman, Orland, Calif. Miss Ruth is the daughter of Mrs. Geneva Ruth, 317 South Or ange street, and the . late Ernest Lynn Ruth. Mr. Her man is a son of Mr. and Mrs. Henry Herman, Orland. Miss Ruth' attended Mc Cloud, Calif., schools and for the past ten years has been employed as a bookkeeper for the city of Medford. Mr, Her man is employed as a station ary engineer with - the Pet Milk company, Orland. - The wedding is scheduled to be held Saturday, July 12, at First Baptist church, Med ford, at three o'clock in the afternoon. The couple will make their home in Orland. 4 Gain Robinsons Home From Tour Mr. and Mrs. Gain Robin son, 1018 South Oakdale avenue have returned to their home following a two-months trip to Europe. The Robinsons toured in Portugal, Spain, the Island of Majorca, Italy, Holland and England. In addition to trips throughout the countries they attended a bull fight in Port ugal and mentioned the beau tiful flower auctions of Hol land. ' They spent several days in New York before flying West. Family Here Mrs. Helen A. Wilson, 106 Oregon terrace, has had as her house guests her son and daughter-in-law, Mr. and Mrs. Harold G. Wilson Jr. and their four children of Ana cortes, Wash. The Wilsons were en route to visit Mrs. Wilson's parents, Mr. and Mrs. James A. Her cascade bou quet was of dainty maid roses and stephanotis. Miss Marjorie E. Hoyer was honor attendant and Miss Kaye Harmon and Miss La Donna Sandah were brides maids. Maryann L. Jones was junior bridesmaid. They wore mint green flocked nylon frocks over matching taffeta and carried cascade bouquets of Shasta daisies. Marilyn Bready was flower girl and wore a yellow nylon frock and carried Shasta daisies. Kenneth LI Brown served as best man for his brother while Thomas- A. Gail, Med ford, Darrell L. Perkins and William J. Garrett, brother of the bride, seated the guests. For her daughter's wed ding Mrs. Garrett wore a blue boucle dress with navy acces sories. Mrs. Brown chose a beige dress with pink acces sories. Their corsages were of pink orchids. Following the ceremony a reception was held in the church parlors. Mrs. Russell E. Jones, aunt of the bride, cut and served the bride's cake while Miss Karen Mc Kinley presided at the punch bowl. Mrs. Kenneth L. Brown, sister-in-law of the bride groom, and Mrs. David Jones poured the coffee. Miss Mar jorie Barg was in charge of the guest book and Mrs. Ger ald Bready and Mrs. Wesley Shirley were at the gift tables. The newlywed couple will make their home in Oakland, Calif., following a wedding trip down the coast. For her traveling attire the bride wore a light blue dress with white accessories. The bride plans to complete her studies at Oregon State college next spring. Mr. Brown was graduated from Medford High school and Ore gon State college where he received his commission in the United States Air Force as a second lieutenant last month. He will be employed by Gerber Baby Foods company in Oakland until he reports for active duty next April. Out-of-town guests attending the ceremony included Mr. and Mrs. Orrin L. Brown, par ents of the bridegroom, and Mr. and Mrs. Kenneth L. McKibben of At lanta, Ga., left Thursday for Klamath Falls after having, been a guest of Mr. and. Mrs. Lee Williams, West Main street. Mrs. McKibben, a for mer employee of the Califor nia Oregon Power ompany, is the widow of the late J.-A. McKibben, former chief of de tectives for the city of At lanta. ' This was the first visit of Mrs. McKibben and the Wil liams in 33 years. Three college credits for eith er undergraduate or graduate work will be given for the camp. Recreational events off the campus are planned during the camp with a week end pack trip planned next week end to be headed by Dr. El mo Stevenson president of the college. The trip will be in the t.rea above Lake of the Woods.
