Couple Married In New Church Jacksonville The first weddinjfheld in the new Ruch Community church was that of Miss Cherokee Rose Couch and Donald Hugh McSwan. The ceremony took place Thursday, June 12, at 7 o'clock in the evening with the Rev. Carl Best, Jackson ville, officiating for the single ring ceremony. The bride is a daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Walter Couch, Route 1, Box 14A, Jackson ville, and the bridegroom is a son of Mr. and Mrs. Don Mc Swan, Grants Pass. The bride wore a blue suit with white accessories and carried a white Bible with pink rosebuds. She was given in marriage by her father. The wedding march was played by Miss Mary Beth Ramsey, Jacksonville. Garden - flowers decorated the church. The reception was held at the bride's home, with 30 guests attending. The newlyweds spent their honeymoon in California and are living in the McSwan home, near Provolt. The bride attended Jacksonville schools, and the bridegroom was ed ucated in Grants Pass. To Sew Daughters of the Nile sew ing club will meet Monday, June 23, at 12 noon with Mrs. Q. L. Overmyer, 610 South Holly street, to sew for the Shrine hospital. Potluck luncheon will be served. The bride is a daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Charles Jessel, 582 Holly street, Ashland. The bride groom is a son of Mrs. James C. Wilburn, Shaw, Miss., and has been making his home in Dunsmuir, Calif. The Rev. John Thompson officiated at the ceremony. White gladiolus and pink, white, and red roses decorated the church. Mrs. William Gir- ard sang and Miss Edna Do herty was organist. Given in marriage" by her father, the bride wore a white cotton frock with matching hat and shoulder length veil She carried a white prayer book with pink and white roses. Miss Edna Jessel attended her sister. She wore a pink cotton frock with pink hat Matron and Patron Of Nevita Chapter To Be Feted Tuesday Central Point A stated meeting of Nevita chapter Order of the-Eastern Star, has been announced for Tues day, June 24 at 8 p.m. Mrs. Wyles Berry, worthy matron, and Merritt Swing, worthy patron, will be honored dur ins a farewell ceremony in this last meeting of the their year. The officers of the chapter will be in charge of the decorations and refreshments. Following the ceremony a reception was held at the par ish hall of the churchwith 150 relatives and 'friends attend ing. Serving were Mrs. M. A. Ring, Mrs. Rosemary Dabo vitch, Mrs. Carol Copeland, and Mrs. Joel Jessel. Mrs. Emil Kroeger was in charge of tHe guest book. For her daughter's wedding Mrs. Jessel wore a grey and white stripe cotton dress with white accessories. Mrs. Wil burn chose an oatmeal colored linen dress with white acces sories. They both had pink and white carnation corsages. . The newlywed couple trav eled to Mississippi and will return to Dunsmuir to make their home in late July. .For her traveling attire the bride wore a beige two piece che mise dress with white accessories. The bride attended Ashland High school, Southern Oregon college and the University of Wyoming. Mr. Sanderson at tended Delta State Teachers college, Cleveland, Miss.; and Mississippi Southern college, Hattiesburg, Miss. He is an in structor at Dunsmuir Joint Union High school. Following the reception at the church a reception was held at the Jessel home for members of the wedding par ty and immediate families of the couple. Mrs. Joel Jessel and Mrs. William Hampton served. They were married in a ceremony Saturday, June 14, in the Village church at Jacksonville. The Rev. Richard L. Merriman offici ated at the four o'clock after noon ceremony attended by 14 relatives and friends. The bride is the former Holly Peterson of 409 North Central avenue, a daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Floy Hardage of California. Mr. Smets is a son of Mr. and Mrs. C. P. Smets, route 1, box 312, Med ford. The bride wore a delphini um blue lace dress with white accessories and carried a bouquet of white roses. Miss Sophia H. Robbins attended the bride. Following the ceremony a reception was held at the Smets home on South Stage road, Medford. The bride attended Vernon, Texas, public schools and Medford Beauty school. She is a beautician at Winnie's Style Salon. Mr. Smets at tended Jacksonville, Ore., schools and Behnke Walker Business college, Portland. He is logging inspector for Ore gon state board of forestry. Picnic Announced Foods Group Members and guests of the Natural Foods associates group will hold the annual picnic Tuesday, June 24, at 6:30 p.m. at the Irving Thom as home on Pioneer road. For the July meeting a gar den tour will be held with emphasis on how to plan a winter garden. Plans for the tour will be made at the pic nic, it was Reported. Mrs. Eloy Sutton was in stalling officer. The club was presented a portfolio by the retiring of ficers and Mrs. Anhorn was given a gift. New committee members announced by Mrs. Stratton included Mrs. John Croskell, hospitality and friendship basket; Mrs. Dale Bartley, publicity; Mrs. Don Lacy, Mrs. Sutton, Mrs. Bruce Turner and Mrs., John Smock, mem bership and transportation; Mrs. William Colley, secret sisters; and Mrs. Don A.1 Faber scrapbook. At the Wednesday meeting a demonstration of makeup will be given by a representa tive of the Merle Norman Stu dio in Medford. Co-hostesses will be Mrs. William Johnson and Mrs. Lee McNew. Casual dress will be proper for club meeting for the next six months.
