Mrs. Trites is the former Mary Louise Ward, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Uriel J. Ward, 115 Fork street. Mr. Trites is a son of Mr. and Mrs. G. Richard Trites, 495 Ray lane The wedding was held May 31 at 2:30 o'clock in the aft ernoon at Litwiller's Moun tain View chapel in Ashland. The Rev. Everett McGee of the Church of Christ officiat ed at the double-ring cere mony attended by 100 rela tives and friends. Baskets of pink and white gladiolus decorated the chap el for the ceremony and Mrs. C. M. Litwiller played the tra ditional organ wedding music, Mrs. . Robert Jackson, sister of the bride, was soloist Given in- marriage by her father, the bride wore an Ital ian lace and nylon tulle gown fashioned with fitted lace bod ice and full skirt. Her illusion veil was held by a pill box hat and she carried a white orchid on a white Bible. The Bible was a gift . from the bridegroom. Mrs. Bruce Malpass was matron of honor and Miss Di ane Bowlin was bridesmaid. They wore frocks of cotton satin fashioned" with fitted bodices and full skirts. Mrs. Malpass was in pink and car ried a cascade bouquet of pink Central Point Mr. and Mrs. Oscar Willard, Kirtland road, announce the engage ment of their daughter, Jessie, to Clayton Brown, son of Mrs. Ingrid R. Kurz, 240 South Second street. The bride-elect was a member of the 1958 class of Crater High school. Mr. Brown, a graduate of the same school, is on the staff of Fluhrer's bakery. No wedding date has been set. n in IT carnations. Miss Bowlin was in blue and carried blue car nations. Candlelighters were Pamela Williams, Coalinga, Calif., niece of the bride, and Tana Laird, cousin of the bridegroom. Timothy Gene Ward, nephew of the bride, was ring bearer. Michael Morgan served as best man for his cousin while Albert Ward, brother of the bride, and Terry Krinock, Medford, cousin of the bride groom seated the guests. Following the ceremony a reception was held at the Trites home on Ray lane. As sisting with the serving were Mrs. Dee Newton, Mrs. Dan Dwyer, Medford, Mrs. Tom Laird, and Mrs. Esther T. Richmond, Glendale, Calif., all aunts of the bridegroom. Miss Carol Burrow was in charge of the guest book. Out of town guests includ ed Mr. and Mrs. Ardell Wil liams and daughter, Coalinga, Calif.; Mr. and Mrs. Robert Jackson, Aberdeen, Wash.; Mr. and Mrs. Stuart B. Brown and daughter, Susan, Roy, Utah; Mr. and Mrs. Peter Mc Carron, Tacoma, Wash.; Mr. and Mrs. Roger Newton, Ger- lach, Nev.; Mr. and Mrs. Wil liam Walkenshaw, Mr. .and Tom Newton, all Eugene; and Miss Cathy Conyngham, Port land. For her traveling attire the bride chose a pink wool suit with white accessories and a corsage of blue flowers. The couple both attended Ashland public schools. Mr. Trites is employed by United Air Lines Medford. Medford Women To Teach School Mrs. Grover Corum, 30 Wil liamette avenue, Medford, will leave Monday for Boise, Idaho, where she will teach a laboratory training school at the First Christian church. Text for the school will be Mrs. Corum's book "Creative Activities Simplified." At the conclusion of the school she will go to Portland where she will meet Mrs. George Osier, Palm street, Medford. The two women will attend the quadrennial meet ing of Presbyterian Women s Organizations at Purdue uni versity, West Lafayette, Ind., June 25 through July 1. Mem bers of the Women s associa tion of First Presbyterian church, Medford, the women will be among the 5,000 wom en who are expected to attend the meetings. Following the meetings Mrs. Corum will spend sev eral days in Chicago and Osh kosh, Wis. She will then visit her daughter, Mrs. N. C. Ben jamin, in Vallejo, Calif, be fore returning to Medford. (Knackstedt photo) Open House Celebrates 25th Wedding Mr. and Mrs. E. L. Fredrick celebrated their silver wed ding anniversary June 7 at their - home at 5695 Table Rock road with an open house. The couple were married June 7, 1933 in Plainview, Texas, at the First Christian church. Here for the anniver sary celebration were the children of the couple. Miss Evelyn Frederick, the eldest daughter, flew from Riverside, Calif., and returned to her home Monday; a son, Max, arrived here from George Fox college in New berg. He returned there fol lowing the visit here. Miss Ash is a graduate of Eagle Point High school. Both of the young people attended Simpson Bible college in San Francisco and are now em ployed in that city. The wedding is scheduled for August 23 at the Shady Cove Assembly of God church. Mrs. Herbert Carson and Mrs. Ray Beeson poured the punch and Mrs. Gerald John son and Miss Evelyn Fred erick served the coffee. Kath leen Frederick was in charge of the guest book. Assisting with the prepara tions were Mrs. Sam Glass, Mrs. Johnson, Mrs. Beeson, and Mrs. Carson. Other help ers included Miss Marilyn Beeson, Miss Linda Johnson and Miss Janet Beeson. Pink roses, white daisies and silver candles decorated the rooms and the tables which held the several cakes. A minature wedding cake and two cakes in the shape of "two" and "five" were on the main serving table. Guild Planning Coming Events With the beginning of the 1958 Shakespearean festival season, members of Tudor guild are stressing plans for guild activities this summer Trybuts for this season's plays are being held in Ashland this week end, and casting will be announced Monday. Monday evening Tudor guild members will give the annual casting dinner in Trin ity Parish hall, 44 North Sec ond street, at 5:45 p.m. Plans for the annual Bard's Heyday are also in the mak ing, and it will be held July 13 in the festival shell in Ash land. This gala event always precedes the opening of the plays, and the program m eludes skits by the actors, games, music and refresh ments. Mrs. A. N. Rose were honored on x their 50th wedding anniversary with a party at their home, 429 South Front street, Monday evening, June 9. Mr. and Mrs. Rose, both native Oregonians, were mar ried June 10, 1908, in Med ford by the Rev. Mr. Shields in the Presbyterian Manse. They have always lived in the Rogue River . valley, re siding formerly at Phoenix and since 1931 in Medford. ' Family members of the honored couple who attended were their son, Lewis A. Rose Jr., Grants Pass, and their three daughters, Mrs. Jack Caldwell, Eagle Point; Mrs. J. L. Fisher, Medford, and Mrs. J. C.-Long, Jacksonville. Also attending were the grandchildren, Bill Caldwell, Mrs. John Johnson, Pamela Rose, John Fisher, Scott Fish er, Ben Long and Jacque Long.
