Miss Robinson was 1958 student body presi dent at St. Mary's School. She was also homecoming queen, a charter member of the Na tional Honor society, accom panist for the Marian choir, drill team captain and a mem ber of Choraletles. Beta Sigma Phi. was held June 10 at the Medford hotel in the Rogue Room, with dinner fol lowing. Mrs. Thomas Cardona and Mrs. O. A. Eden assisted the president, Miss Jean Cardona with the ceremony. The ritual table was cover ed with the traditional white stin cloth, bearing the gold crest. White chrysanthemums rfd yellow rosebuds and vari ous colored candles adorned the table. The mirrored wall in the Rogue Room reflected the candle light ceremony. Pledges receiving the ritual of jewels degree were Mrs Floyd Eastwood, Mrs. Ernest Flakus, Mrs. Ted Neilson and Mrs. Ron Hall. Guests for the evening were Mrs. I. V. Mitchell, Mrs. C C. Holmes, Mrs. H. D. Man ning, Mrs. J. A. Westensee, Alpha Beta's past presidents, Mrs. Nick DeWitt and Mrs. Austin Murry, and the chap ter's sponsor, Mrs. Eden and director, Mrs. Cardona. Sixteen of Alpha Beta's members and a group of hus bands plan to attend first aid classes consisting of 10 hours of training at the Red Cross building, starting Thursday, June 19, at 7:30 p.m. - Ceremony Conducted For DeMolay Chapter Cave Junction The degree team of Redwood chapter of DeMolay conferred the initia tory degree on Joseph Hos- kins, Michael Burnett, both of Illinois valley and James Ackerman, now living in Eagle Point, Wednesday at a meeting of the Grants Pass chapter. Clifford Sowell, Dad ad visor of Redwood chapter, and Frank Amer of Selma provid ed the transportation. Harry Bryant were appointed as a committee to investigate various money-raising proj ects. Rickard, Newtown street. Officer and Wife Guests in City; To Attend Rites Capt. and Mrs. Robert M. The Shoemakers came here from Iran, where the officer has been on duty with the Military Assistance Ad visory group of the Iranian Army. Later this summer Caf tain Shoemaker will go to Ft. Leavenworth, Kan., for fur ther training at the general staff school. This week General and Mrs. Rickard and the Shoemakers will leave for Detroit, Mich., to attend the wedding of a son, James B. Rickard, to Kathleen Beuerle. The Bride- elect is a daughter of Mr. and Mrs. I. E. Beuerle, and the rites are set for June 20. The bridegroom is with General Motors in Detroit. Table service will be required. f Meeting Planned By Relief Corps; Ceremonies Held Central Point Central Point Woman's Relief corps will meet at the home of Mrs. Bessie Henderson, Gold Hill, Tuesday, June 17. A potluck luncheon will be served at noon. The group placed 65 flags on the graves of soldiers Me morial day and held a short service at the Central Point cemetery in memory of all soldiers and sailors.
