Funds raised will go to the dental clinic which Medford Kiwanis club sponsors for the county. Co chairmen fo? the event were Mrs. Paul L. Walker and Mrs. Edward P. Barnett. A special guest was Mrs. Jack Murton, Gresham, wife of the governor of the north west district of Kiwanis. Mrs. Frank Benesh, president Tea Announced By Republicans Jackson County Republican Women will hold the annual silver tea Monday, May 19, from 2 until 4 p.m., at the home of Mrs. George Roberts, 1815 Crown avenue. Special guests for the afternoon will be Mrs. Paul Geddes and her daughters, Roseburg. Mr. Ged des 15 seeking the Republican nomination for representative in congress from the fourth congressional district. General chairman for the event is Mrs. Sheridan Scott, assisted by Mrs. Philip Lowry, Others assisting are Mrs. Ray Miksche and Mrs. Frank Perl, tea table; Mrs. John Boyle, food; Mrs. Joseph T. Anthony and Mrs. Ralph Dippel, dishes and silver. Miss Helen Ford Guest in Medford Miss Helen G. Ford, Ta coma. Wash., is a guest of Mr. and Mrs. Roy G. Miller.' and other members of the Miller family at 322 South Riverside avenue. Commen tators were Mrs. Charles Champlin and Mrs. John Raapke; music was provided by Mrs. Emerson Anderson and Mrs. Kenneth Brown. The mood of the event was set by Miss Colleen Hope, a guest model, who appeared wearing a "space suit." Miss Hope also served as the an nual "mystery model" and when she appeared in tin all white coverall with engulfing helmet topped with two an tennae, not one person in the entire assemblage of guests was able to guess her identity. Other models were mem bers of Kiwanian Dames, their sons and daughters. They wore summer clothing from Mann's, Leon's and Leon's Tots to Teens, Rath's and Burelson's. Johnson and Stewart, Mann's and Leon's supplied shoes; Rath's and Mann's the hats and Mann's Beauty salon styled the hair of all the models. The models were Mrs. Wil liam E. Ruffner, Mrs. Tom Polk, Mrs. A. R. Manno, Mrs. E. Ronald Rice and her grand daughters, Margy and Karen Martin, Mrs. Fred Morlan, Mrs; Robert Church, Mrs. John H. Pletsch, Mrs. William T. Clark and her son, Kent, Miss Molly Walker, Miss Su san Hubbard, Patty and Mike Clark, Cynthia Barnett, Jean nie Woods, Rod Bacon, Greg ory Barnett, Cynthia Barnett, Mrs. Jack Edson and small daughter, Lynn. Mrs. Edson and her daughter closed the show. Mrs. Edson modeling a bridal gown while little Lynn served as flower girl. Decorations were "rockets" and other appropriate devices, and each guest received table favors. Em mens Visit Relatives Here Lt. Col. and Mrs. Robert G. Emmens, on vacation in Medford before sailing for Japan where Colonel Emmens will be orf duty for the com ing three years, are being honored at a number of par ties. ' r The Emmens and their chil dren, Tom, Robin and Mich ael, are visiting M!rs. Em mens mother, Mrs. Alfred Miller, 13 Mistletoe street; the colonel's mother, Mrs. J. J. Emmens, 1443 East Main street, and his " brother and sister-in-law, Dr. and Mrs. Thomas H. Emmens, 6 North Modoc avenue, and their family. The officer and his family are to sail from Seattle May 23 for Tokyo. Colonel Em mens has been stationed in Arlington, Va., for the past few years. Dr. and Mrs. Emmens have been hosts for two cocktail parties for the visitors and Friday evening the Emmens were dinner guests of Mr. and Mrs. John S. Day at their new home in the Gold Rey area. Today the visitors will be the guests of Mr. and Mrs. Al fred S. V. Carpenter for Sun day luncheon. , , Other events are being planned to honor the couple. '.1? ' Klamath Falls Members Visit Sojourners Club Medford Sojourners enter tained 26 Klamath Falls So journers at a luncheon at the Rogue Valley Country club Thursday afternoon. A social hour was held from 11:30 to 12:30 at the Girls Community club. About 60 members were present to greet the guests. The luncheon tables were decorated with small May baskets , which were later given as card prizes. Mrs. John Mansfield, chairman, was responsible for the suc cess of the luncheon. Those who helped on her commit tee were Mrs. J. E: Westlund, Mrs. A. L. McClure, Mrs. Clif ford Griffitts, Mrs. Roy Stein, Mrs. Lewis Smith and Mrs. Dwight Crosier. Mrs. Carl Borg introduced the Klamath Falls guests. Each was presented with a carnation corsage. Mrs. Dick Penneman brought as her guest, her mother-in-law, Mrs. S. R. Penneman of Sequoia, Calif. Special awards were won by Mrs.' Edward Brotherhood, Klamath Falls and Mrs. A. B. Davis, Medford. Those who became mem bers of the club were Mrs. Clarence O. Lack, Mrs. G. H. Adler and Mrs. Wayne Craig. The pastime of the after noon was bridge, pinochle and canasta. A prize was given at each table. House Tour Announced The second annual house tour of Medford Junior Serv ice League will be held Tues day, June 3, from 1 until 4:30 p.m. The social hour follow ing the tour ""will be at the Rogue Valley Country club from 3 until 4:30 p.m. The general public is invit ed to attend the event which aids in the support of the L e a g u e's kindergarten for hard-of-hearing children. Daughter Leaves After Visit Here Mrs. Richard Smith and son, Mitchell, left for Wichita, Kan. and New Jersey Wednes day after visiting her parents, Mr. and Mrs. Dan Neill, 1415 West Eighth street, Medford, College To Give Concert May 18 Ashland Southern Oregon college music department will present a concert at 8 p.m. on Sunday, May 18 in Churchill Hall auditorium featuring the Little Symphony orchestra and the choir. The choir, which has been one of the college's best known musical organizations for many years, will sing five selections. The orchestra, which was organized last fall on a college-community basis, will play four numbers. To conclude the concert, the two organizations will com bine in a performance of four choruses from Handel's ora torio, "Messiah," closing with the Hallelujah chorus. There will be no admission charge although an' offering will be accepted for the bene fit of the orchestra scholar ship fund. The public is in vited to attend. Family to Live In Klamath Falls Mr. and Mrs.-Del W. Wright, 513 South Keeneway drive, Medford, will move to Klam ath Falls soon to make their home. Mr, Wright, with Blake, Moffitt and Towne company, paper brokers, has been trans ferred from the Medford of fice of the firm. He will leave this week and Mrs. Wright and their two children plan to join him at the close of the school year. - The .Wrights have made their home here since Janu ary 1951. Their son, Lyle Gregory, who will be ten in July, attends fourth grade at Roosevelt school. Their daugh ter, Rayleen, was six last month. The Wrights are active in Kiwanis club and the First Presbyterian church. Mr. Wright has been active in am ateur radio operation. He is a son of Mrs. Ray E. Wright, 1100 Reddy street, Medford, and the late Mr. Wright. Mrs. Wright is a commer cial artist. Among her work in Medford was decorations for the Rogue Valley Country club during the past two years. She was with Associat ed Designers in Portland for seven years. She was graduated from Bethany Bible college, Santa Cruz, Calif., with a degree in music and education. Mr. Cummings is a graduate of Klamath Union High school and Bethany Bible college. Medford Woman Oh Committee . , Appointment of Mrs. Rob ert (Marijane) Duncan, , Med ford, as a member of the state-wide "executive commit tee of the Oregon chapter of the Arthritis and Rheumatism Foundation, has been an nounced by Wendell Gray Portland, chapter president. Mrs. Duncan was Jackson county chairman of the or ganization's membership cam paign last January. The chapter is a beneficiary of the United Medford Cru sade. for the past several week.
