Medford Tribune jMrs. Jessie Minear was one of 11 valley churchwomen honored at the annual spring fellowship luncheon, of Med ford Council of Church Women. The women were nominated by member churches, and Mrs. Minear was chosen by First Methodist church, Medford, as the congregation's most outstanding woman member, Mrs. Minear, mother of five sons and daughters and grandmother of 12, is fcymer president-of Woman's Society of Christian Service, a former chairman of the Rogue valley sub-district, a member of the church, board for 10 years and -is now one of the directors of Rogue Valley manor. A valley resident since ?02, Mre. Minear is a charter and active member of Griffin Creek Grange, has served on the Griffin Creek school board and is an ardent gardener. Phoenix Lions club for a number of years. -Mrs'., Watkins is the. mother of a son and two daughters, and has four grandchildren.' Before coming to the Rogue valley in 1920, Mrs.' Watkins aVid her husband lived near Spokane, Wash. She has belonged to the Order-of Eastern Star for more than. 50 years, and for many years worked in the Phoenix Home Extension unit. , w,Swjsw v ' " " ' ' i $ if ? -V .t - ' The nominee of First Presbyterian church, 'Central Point, for the Council of Church Women's honor list was Mrs. E. C. Faber, Member churches were asked to choose women more than 65 years of age who were mothers, and to base their selection on service to the church and the community. Mrs. Faber, who has two sons, one daughter and five grandchildren, came to the valley in 1909. She first worked in First Methodist church in Medford and in recent years transferred her affiliation to the Presbyterian church. She is treasurer of Christian Service circle. '. Mrs Carl Borg, nominated by Zion Lutheran church for the council's honor list, is shown here on the church steps with Ricci Jane Borg, one'of her seven grandchildren. Mrs. Borg, who fias a son and two daughters, is active in. the Women's guild of Zion Lutheran church and belongs . , to Esther circle. The Borgs came to the valley in 1920, living first in Talent before ! moving - ' to Medford.
