Ashland Triumphs !n Leaque Starter Central Point Crater high baseballers will go to Grants Pass on Monday to make up their baseball dou bleheader which was twice postponed. The game was to have been Friday was re set for Saturday because of rain and wet grounds. It was moved to Monday when conditions had not im proved satisfactorily by yes terday. Chico State Track Team Defeats SOC Ashland Southern Ore gon college's Red Raider cin dermen fell to a strong and experienced Chico State team yesterday in Ashland by a score of 84Vfc-46V. Chico State picked up a first place in every running event except the 100-yard dash where Raider Clarence Baker copped first in :10.3. In the field events South ern Oregon took first or tied for first in every event. Dave Lockard led the field events with firsts in the discus and shot put. Gary Clayton pick ed up two ties for first in the pole vault arid high jump. Keith Thomasson was the big triple winner for visit ing Chico State as he ran off with honors in the 220 and 440 yard dash, and low hur dles. Thomas Wins Two Chico's Dan Thomas was the only other double win ner with wins in the mile and two mile Tuns. Eldon Francis, freshman from Medford, proved to be the most versatile when he won the javelin throw for the Raiders on a toss of 178 feet 10 inches and then switched uniforms and played four in nings in the SOC-Humboldt State baseball game. The relay was forfeited to Chico when two Raider run ners turned up with pulled muscles. Baker in winning the 100 injured his leg and Gor don Clayton still had leg trou ble from the previous week. Chico was the only team to sweep any of the events on a wet track that was wind blown all afternoon when they took all three places in the 220 and the 440. (SOC). 10-9.
