Rural Reflections: While other folks are writing bird columns and entertaining flocks in their back yards, it is two gay little pine squirrels that have captured the atten tion of Dana and Curt Gear- hardt. The little pets have eaten their way through three boxes of apples this winter. The sauirrels sit on the back porch and carefully peel their apples before eating them, and often take them in to the trees to have their meal. Sometimes they leave their apple setting on a limb, and bv some mysterious meth od of balance no winds dis turb them. At the ooDosite end of the yard two gray squirrels (from a former herd of 17) have a playground, but they are said to scatter when the pine squirrels come visiting.
